I recently bought a home in south Tampa and needed new pool equipment. I called the store and Crystal had the owner Alee out the next day to quote me on everything I needed. She also went above and beyond to get me the sale price and every bit of savings she could. The repair technician was great and my pool looks beautiful! They have a great team here! I visited the store and spoke with Alee. He convinced me to upgrade to all new Pentair equipment when I needed a new salt cell, my filter was ancient, and my pump needed some parts. Alee installed the equipment. It was fast, professional and a clean install. In all, a great outcome, as the new setup worked better than my old piece mail of equipment ever did.

I had my pool equipment "refreshed" three years ago by another company. After their refresh it never really worked right and they left the configuration clunky and not set up correctly. The pump was so loud, you could tell it was struggling to pump enough water. It was so poorly configured that clicking the wrong button would drain the hot tub. The valves were poorly done, etc. I finally got sick of it and contacted them again to redo it. They couldn't even look at it for 6 weeks. I called this pinch a penny and the owner of the store was out the same day to look at my setup. In detail, he went over with me every issue I had (and some I wasn't aware of) and what needed done to fix them. I signed off on the quote and they were there four days later to do the work. It wasn't cheap, but it works perfectly. They replumbed everything that was causing an issue and put new controls on it so everything works perfectly. My experience with pool companies in the area had my expectations low going into this, but they really impressed me. Not that it matters, but the equipment area is even cleaned up. It looks professional. They didn't cut corners and everything was done so well. My pool pump is about 1/3rd as loud and the flow is about double what it was. Lastly, all the functions work the way they are supposed to. I can't reccomend THIS pinch a penny enough.

Spa heater stopped working. Tech looked at it for 2 minutes without even opening it up and told me it was completely shot and needed to be replaced. Called Hawkin's Electric and their tech opened up the heater and replaced one part. The heater is working great again. Pinch a Penny just charged my CC $195 for the trip 5 minute trip charge. I'll never use them again.

UPDATE 10/2023: Once again so grateful for the incredible customer service, knowledge and efficiency of this team. Another great experience from my initial call with Crystal with her kindness and help troubleshooting to the district manager, Alee, coming out same day himself to ensure we had a solid plan in place, and then to the team solving my issue and installing a new pump the following day. Can't recommend them enough, and this store is the only one I call or visit when I need anything pool related.----So thankful for the knowledge of Allen and Brian G. They are true professionals and experts in all they do! We’ve been dealing with an old pool and various issues — they have identified things that have gone unnoticed, and went above and beyond to solve our problems. Also, any time we go in to the store, everyone is so helpful, efficient, and knowledgeable that they get us right what we need and on our way. Truly a customer-focused business that we’re lucky to have in our neighborhood.

Alee in the store convinced me to get all new Pentair equipment when I needed a new salt cell and also myfilter was really old and pump was in needed of some parts. He came an installed all the equipment. The job was quick, cleaned up after himself. As for the function. This worked far better than my hodgepodge of stuff I had. Its quiet, pumps way more water than my old setup and should be good for a long time now

At Boca Raton FL store stealing peoples money by selling water with pinch of chlorine. My pool is still green after two jugs of chlorine and shock treatment. Scammers! Chlorine is watered down and more expensive. Very disappointing! Don't trust them

I’ve had a hard time finding a consistent, attentive and helpful pool company here in tampa, until I found pinch a penny. I use them for my pool service (outdoors uncovered south tampa pool) and they are fantastic. Keep my pool looking perfect and help me with any service needs/repairs, and I buy my pool products from them. Brian at the south tampa location is a great guy. He actually takes the time to listen and explain what’s going on, knows all about pools and pool cleaners, and finds good prices for everything as well. If you’re in tampa and need a pool company for any reason go directly to pinch a penny, and the south tampa store location.

This pool company is the most incompetent I have ever seen. Our heater broke so they sold us on another heater brand. It wouldn’t communicate with the existing automation and they were not able to fix the issue. Then, they were not maintaining the pool chemicals properly according to the pool equipment manufacturer and the heater they sold us on broke. $5k down the drain because it broke a week after the warranty. Now we have to get a 3rd heater in 3 years of a newer pool. Then they drastically increased the pool maintenance costs on us and the pool is constantly in terrible condition. It’s totally green and cannot use it for our Mother’s Day get together we are hosting with family. These people are incompetent and crooks. Don’t use them for service. And they are the most expensive for equipment so don’t buy from them either. Online or Leslie’s is usually cheaper
