When counting home purchases and refinances, I have quite a bit of experience with the mortgage application process. Tony's team at First Horizon provided the best experience I have had by far! I was able to upload documents and digitally sign everything, which made the process very efficient (no printing, signing, and scanning items)! I received clear communication and excellent guidance throughout the process from Gail Daily and Cindy Bishop, so I always understood where we were, what was still needed, and what came next. I wholeheartedly recommend this group to anyone needing a mortgage or building a home!

Aaron LaPrade is the key ingredient to my wife and I being returning clients to first horizon bank! Aaron did so much more than what his job title required for us and we could not be not thankful for him! The variety of loans that are offered from first horizon including the pharmacist loan make them unrivaled from other options. Thank you for being diligent, communicative and quick to respond!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This review is a bit late, but my husband and I worked with First Horizon earlier this year and were SO displeased, but were on a time crunch and it was too late to switch. Not once did I ever hear from Tony himself in the entire lending process. I worked with Tara, who I believe is an assistant. She was given more responsibilities than she was able to handle, which led to extending our earnest money period THREE times, Tara sending our approval information to the wrong Madison (so extremely unprofessional and did not even apologize), and many other things. I would never ever ever trust them with another loan process. I spent HOURS each day for about 3 weeks on the phone trying to get this deal closed because they were not capable of doing their job. We almost lost the home we were purchasing because of their lack of attention to detail in getting condo questionnaires filled out, etc. I was also told that by the time our third extension came around they had not even looked at our application so we would need to extend again. We did not have our approval until 2 days before closing and it was only because I begged and pleaded for them to speed things up. They are clearly taking on more than they can chew. This was only a small snippet of the many issues we had with them during this process.

Gail Daily is absolutly a joy to work with. I have worked with her a handful of times now and would highly recommend her to any of my friends, family or clients to work with. I would not use another lender unless I was forced too. Start with Aaron LaPrade, and close with his team. I don’t think there is a better group out there. Purchasing homes is very stressful, however I actually look forward to doing it with this team again in the future.

Although they were able to give us a good rate, my husband and I were not impressed at all with Tony's team. They were not clear on what documents needed to be provided until the last minute. A few days before closing on our home, we were flooded with necessary documents needed. Some of that could not have been avoided, but some of it could had their team been better organized. I asked why we had not been informed earlier and Gail said "well we have to wait on the underwriter to tell us what we need". But in that exact same conversation, she said everyone has to submit this paperwork. So which is it? They knew about my husbands sign on bonus for weeks and a couple days before closing they said they needed more paperwork for it and that everyone has to turn in this paperwork for large deposits. Well Gail, 2 weeks earlier when we talked about the sign on bonus over the phone would have been the moment to tell me I needed that extra paperwork if everyone has to turn it in. It's as if the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. Also, for the type of loan we received, we were required to have a First Horizon bank account, which we were not told until a few days before closing. My husband got a whole speech about how it's required and he politely said okay but why weren't we told until now? Then after closing, they told us we are required to have the account on autopay. Each time they told us a new thing, the reason was "well this is required for the type of loan you have". That's fine but we should have been told all this UP FRONT, not days before closing or even after closing. The whole process was poorly executed. This team needs to learn how to inform their clients up front about the loan requirements and communicate effectively throughout the closing process. I highly recommend finding a different team to work with and asking up front what ALL the requirements for the loan will be.

Tony’s team made my first home purchase as easy as possible. They were prompt and provided excellent explanations. They were transparent, honest, and kind. Exceed expectations, especially for a company out of state. Every step of the process was explained to me. The online portal was easy to navigate. They also accommodated my unique, individual needs. 10/10
