About USF Botanical Gardens
The USF Botanical Gardens is part of the College of Arts and Sciences' ECORE (Environmental and Conservation Outreach, Research, and Education) System, which brings the Botanical Gardens, the Forest Preserve, and Geopark under one leadership team to better serve faculty, student, and community needs. The Botanical Gardens consists of 16 acres of gardens and greenbelt on the Tampa campus of USF and maintains a living collection of more than 3,000 plants, animals and natural habitats. The Botanical Gardens offer a peaceful respite from the bustling city, with mature trees, trails for walking or running, and even a play area for kids. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery, breathe in the fresh air, and slow down the pace of life. The gardens are small but impressive, with a variety of plants, flowers, and greenhouses to explore. Admission is reasonable, and the on-site plant store offers a nice selection of fruit trees, bushes, and shrubs for visitors to take home. Overall, the Botanical Gardens are a lovely destination for plant lovers, families, and anyone seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating experience in nature.

I spent a few hours at the USF Botanical Gardens, and it was really nice. The paths are peaceful, and there’s a good variety of plants to see. It’s a quiet place to relax, take a walk, or just enjoy nature. Everything felt well cared for, and I appreciated being able to escape the usual city hustle for a little while.
