Don't stay here. Moldy smelling rooms, nasty carpets, creepy interior, decent (at best) desk service, absolutely unreliable shuttle service, housecleaning coming at THE most awkward times of the day, subpar restaurant with overpriced "food", strong track record of cockroaches/bugs, water that smells like eggs, a literal mushroom growing out of the wall, and so much more. There are dozens of places in Tampa that would provide you a much better stay.

Checking in at the front desk . The "manager " Jah Anne was the absolute rudest person we have ever encountered when checking in to a hotel. Students from university of Tampa staying there said when they have to go to the front desk , they hope it's not her. JahAnne should not be staffing the front desk . She should be kept as far away from guests as possible. The hotel itself is very dated and no hot water . I would look elsewhere. Not worth your money at the Barrymore.

I have to say the best thing about the hotel was the staff at the front desk. They were always amazingly helpful and made the trip and my business experience a breeze. They have a good location for downtown business trips as well as easy parking and access to everything you need. They don't have much of a weight room or a business center but they make up for it with a nice lobby area and areas to converse with colleagues. The rooms are a bit outdated but well finished and kept clean. They'll clean your bed daily changing out all of your sheets and beddings and towels which I enjoy especially in business trips. It seems like a lot of hotels have gone to not changing your bedding or cleaning your room as often as most people might like. They have a nice selection of books you can read while staying at the hotel as well as lots of free candy in the lobby. The pool is nice it's open from 10:00 a.m. until the sunset and it's not heated so get ready for a cool plunge. Easy access for running on the Riverwalk and easy access to downtown or the convention center either driving or walking. they have lots of cable channels and a big screen TV in each room in the internet speed was plenty fast to do my work. They have a restaurant and bar on site they're open from early in the morning until late at night and they're pretty willing to turn on sports or what you want to watch. I would stay here again on a business trip the staff really made it worthwhile.

Great location, reasonably priced for the area. Room was basic but clean and the beds were very comfortable. The host couldn't find our reservation for a while. But that was the only glitch. The restaurant Gaudin and onsite was pretty good with a full bar. Everyone was great. And with a free shuttle anywhere within a 2 mile radius and to the cruise port. Would definitley recommend

We were helped by a very nice lady named Catina P. She showed us outstanding courtesy and kindness and was a pleasure to deal with. The hotel experience was great, we had no hot water which was an inconvenience, but they sent someone right up to take care of it.

This hotel might look a little dated in the rooms, but the bedding was very comfortable. Beds are pretty firm which might be a problem for some. The only real issue was the elevators being kind of sketchy with a knocking noise as they passed each floor and one being out of order.Walkability: This hotel is perfect for walking around downtown and the waterfront.

One of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. Apparently this hotel is used as housing for the local college, so if you want to be around drunk underage daddy’s money type girls who are screaming about the dumbest things you’ve ever heard into the early hours of the morning, then you’ll enjoy staying here. $300 for one night just to deal with incompetent staff who don’t keep their “guests” in line.

For the price, I expected less. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice our stay was. This is an attractive and clean hotel with a good bar, free downtown shuttle service, free coffee in the morning, friendly staff and the location is right on the riverwalk.Walkability: Sits right on the riverwalk

Room was paid for in full for a week in advance and found out 3 days later that my card had been charged for a full night and completely ruined my entire stay. Beds were uncomfortable, my room never completely cooled down and staff was not accommodating to mine or my daughters needs

Not a bad little hotel for the price. We did have some issues with the plumbing but it was resolved really quickly. We had an issue with housekeeping as they wanted us to accommodate their schedule. But a quick chat with the manager resolved this matter. The hotel is perhaps a bit tired but we found it clean and very comfortable. The reception staff are very welcoming friendly and helpful. The hotel bar/restaurant was very expensive although the food was excellent and staff were fun. Great location right by river walk but not close to many restaurants but the shuttle bus is helpful for this. No safe in the room but valuables can be stored behind reception at no cost.

Wish I could rate it higher, because the positives were nice: immediate access to the Tampa Riverwalk, pleasantly quiet, and super cold air conditioning. But the negatives hurt: the water NEVER got hot for a shower or face wash in the morning, and the 'free downtown shuttle at 7 AM' didn't show up for at least an additional 15 minutes. Hrghh...Nearby activities: You should definitely walk the Riverwalk north to the dining hall. That was cool.

Utterly appalling customer service... can't get ice unless you're on 9th floor or higher. A/c isn't cold asked for service not one came.. killed a roach in my room.. the children downstairs at night as "RA's" what a joke... where are the adults who own this establishment????

I had my husband's 60th surprise bday party and Barrymore Hotel was the hosting hotel for my friends/family. It was a pleasure working with Salina Lourenco, she made sure my guest was taken care of...Excellent customer service. The family enjoyed the rooms and their time in Tampa...Thank you!

My daughter is staying there currently. It seems like a very nice place. The location is easy to reach from I-275. But it's a rather strange process back. All and all this is a third party review. But so far she(daughter) hasn't said anything bad about her stay.

Stayed here for four nights. Great location by the Riverwalk, a short walk to Marion Transit Centre (we didn’t have a car). We asked for top floor with a nice view and got exactly that -looking over the River. It was a real bonus. The room came with a fridge, microwave and excellent Wi-Fi all included in the price. We didn’t use the restaurant or shuttle bus during our stay and so can’t comment. The room itself was clean, quiet and had a comfy bed. It was dated but we can handle that if everything else is good. The staff were very professional. Overall good value for money.
