I’ve been taking my pets to Dr. Ivey and the Hidden Oaks team for 15 years now. Two dogs and now 2 cats, I always know they are in good hands. Dr Ivey and the staff always take their time explaining everything thoroughly, and they check up the next day to see how things are going. I live 30 minutes from their office and drive by a dozen vets on my way, but it’s worth it for our fur babies!

The staff and Dr. Ivey were excellent. I just received my dog (a one year old white standard poodle). The care and planning were excellent and looking forward to the care with my new "kid".

I really want to love Hidden Oaks, I really do. There's so many great things about it. They have a great kennel and friendly staff. Although I haven't met Dr. Ivey in person, her communication with me has been excellent. Unfortunately, they are on the pricier side for services and that is why I'm only giving 3 stars. For a Bordetella booster it cost me $71, which is absurd. $36 for the vaccine (in line with most places), $23 for the tech to literally inject it for 5 seconds, and then $12 "hazardous waste fee" to literally throw out a syringe that doesn't even have a needle! My usual vet doesn't charge a hazardous waste fee and only a $5 tech fee for this, but unfortunately I needed this on short notice, so I had to pay the premium. If I could give any advice to the practice, it would be to look at the fees and try to get them more affordable. Beyond the priciness, it's a great practice.Side update (2/22/24): Received in the mail today the rabies license for one of my dogs. That dog received the vaccine last October from Hidden Oaks. It was a little confusing to receive that almost 4 months after receiving the vaccine.

Absolutely awful place! If I could give zero stars I would! My dog was rushed in for an emergency in May of 2023. I was very scared and thought she was dying. I begged them to call me as soon as she was assessed. I called 3 times throughout the day, desperate for some info and they kept blowing me off. I called a 4th time at about 4 pm when I finally got some answers. They never authorized any treatment or discussed pricing with me but were quick to hand me an almost 1,000 bill for treatments that were never discussed with me! Several months later when one of my other pets needed vet care, I decided to go to another practice. I requested that they transfer the records to the new practice. I had to call several times asking over the course of a week and they never completed the request. The new vet even called to request the records and they still didn’t send them. I finally got upset and called with frustration. I got hung up on and put on hold instead of help. Awful awful customer service!!! Don’t go here if you care about being informed about your beloved pets!!!

Dr Ivey and the staff at Hidden Oaks are amazing! They truly are a blessing to us to have found a vet we love so close to home! We recently boarded our babies there while we were on vacation, and it was a great experience! We got pictures almost everyday and it was such a comforting feeling seeing how happy they were there, and it truly made our day! They always call to follow up after a visit to see how they are doing, and always make us feel at home when we are there. The best experience we have had with a vet since moving here 4 years ago and can't see ever changing!

Our pets have been with the team at Hidden Oaks for a very long time. They are the greatest, most loving people with the best care that you’ll ever find anywhere. We drive 2 1/2 hours to see Dr. Ivey and her outstanding team. You should too.

This is the third time that I got denied medicine for my dog, because I'm using Chewy, which is half price and more convenient. The front desk staff is atrocious and will override the doctor's decision, if they feel they can squeeze more money out of patients. They will find a shot, procedure, test, etc and they will clip you for a lot of money. My last visit was almost $600, not a surgery, just a basic visit and a skin test. If you love your pet, don't take him here, find someone that loves money less. I don't need an apology or explanation, I already moved on because my dog needs medicine, not lame excuses for more money. Also, you can thank Lizie, for having such horible customer service skills.

When I moved to Tarpon Springs I was desperate for a Vet for my Golden Retriever, Layla. One of my neighbors recommended Hidden Oaks Animal Hospital. Dr Ivy is fabulous. The staff is friendly and goes out of their way for each animal that walks through the door. I would highly recommend them.

I visited the Hidden Oaks Animal Hospital website to get some information. I had a question, so I clicked on the "Text Us" option to ask if one of the services provided was cat spaying/neutering and, if so, what the cost would be. No response.A day or two later, I called the hospital to ask the same question. The person who answered the phone told me that, in order to be able to give me a quote, they would first have to gather some information. I was asked my name, address, phone number, e-mail address, cat's name and breed. I was then told that a quote would be e-mailed to me. I never received the quote.I wanted to use this vet because it is close to my job, but if communication for just some basic information like the cost for services couldn't quickly be answered, I'm concerned about dealing with this vet for more concerning matters like my pet's health.

I recently had a very bad experience with Hidden Oaks Animal Hospital. My dog was in need of emergency care over a holiday weekend and although advertised as an emergency care facility they were not open nor available. I took my dog to a 24-hour emergency care facility to seek treatment. I called and texted Hidden Oaks Animal Hospital over the weekend and on Monday. On Tuesday I contacted the office and provided them with the information on my dogs hospitalization and asked to speak with the veterinarian. I was assured that she would be back in contact with me as soon as possible. My dog had a bone lodged in his throat which was resolved. However, he has double aspiration pneumonia with a fever and is in need of post hospitalization care and treatment. It's Friday and still we haven't heard back from Hidden Oaks Animal Hospital; our veterinarian's office that we've been going to for a few years now! This is unacceptable practice and negligence if duty! If you want QUALITY CARE service, I suggest looking ELSEWHERE!!! Furthermore, they also try to do extra tests and diagnostic testing that are not necessary. They said my dog had a heart murmur and they wanted to do an EKG and other testing. The emergency room doctor said there was absolutely nothing wrong with his heart!!!
