Do not adopt from this place. We adopted 2 weeks ago and have already paid close to $2,000 because they let us adopt a very sick kitty. There are also hidden fees when it comes to them neutering. Not to mention trying to get a reply from the email given to contact the person who organizing the neutering dates.
I am truly disappointed, angry and worried about the health of the other cats.

By far the best adoption place over ever visited in my whole life as soon as you walk in it was clean and you are greeted by all the fur babies when I tell you if I lived closed by I would be here everyday just to love on the cats and kitties. They Don't have them locked up in cages, all the cats get to be open and playful. The workers have the best personalities as well very warming and open to people as well as cats of course and they come from a good heart. I will 10 out of 10 recommend before going to a animal shelter you don’t waste no time and you won’t have to wait to adopt your baby get him/her the same day (today I adopted tango he is orange and white and is very hyper and happy)

Wonderful rescue to adopt from! Please, go meet the amazing staff at Hoffmeyer Animal Rescue and their irresistible kitties. Their cats are well cared for and well socialized with an open seating area to meet and play with cats and kittens of all ages. The staff really does know their animals, with insight into their personalities to help find a good match. Blanco picked me out, and insisted I take home his bestie Abella too. The adoption process was easy, and they were organized and efficient about the paperwork. If you are genuine cat lover, go visit!
Special shout out to Loni, thanks for all your helping my kids find their forever home with me!

Adopted from here 2years ago,the best decision ever!!went for one ,got 2!!!no regrets. Recently had a kitten in engine area,the took him in ,cared for and im sure find him a loving home as well.Ladies are saints!loved and cared for fur babies.Go get one or 2,3....what a great place!!!

Hoffmeyer is the best rescue ever! They gave me a lifetime of joy with my little girl. She came fixed, fully vaccinated and microchipped! They even happily provided me with her baby pics when I asked almost a year later! What these wonderful people do is a labor of love for both cats and adopters. I truly can’t recommend them enough. Thank you for our baby! We can’t imagine a world without her. ❤️

Quite expensive and my cat was sick when I adopted her but they had a lot of cats snd very thorough paperwork on cay.

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The entire staff was so welcoming and helpful. I came in knowing exactly who I was going to adopt and the process was so smooth and quick! B helped me through the adoption process and was one of the sweetest humans I have ever met. I am so happy I found them. I will recommend everyone I know to them because I know they’ll be in good hands. 10/10 I will remember this day forever!

We adopted our kitten Rocket about a week ago from Hoffmeyer. We drove 2 hrs each way after finding the most perfect kitten. Can't say enough great things about this place. The staff and volunteers are amazing and so caring. Our sweet boy was found in a storm drain and his foster mom Took amazing care of him. He has brought so much love and joy to our family. If your looking for yoyr forever pet this place is the best. Thank You

My Experience Adopting from Hoffmeyer Animal Rescue
On 9/28/25, I adopted Taco, a male Bengal cat, from Hoffmeyer Animal Rescue, paying an adoption fee of $400. I was informed that Taco weighed 18 lbs, was a picky eater, and needed a specific dry food only—no wet food. I was also advised to be cautious with anesthesia, as Bengals can sometimes react poorly to certain types.
However, by the second day of having him home, Taco appeared seriously ill. He was sneezing, had watery eyes and nasal discharge, and was drinking excessively while refusing to eat anything. Concerned for his wellbeing, I took him to an emergency vet on 10/1/25. Despite medical attention, Taco still would not eat, and I became increasingly worried he might starve.
After reviewing the medical documents provided by the rescue, I noticed that Taco’s recorded weight after his neuter was just 13.8 lbs—not 18 lbs, as I was told. This, combined with his rapid health decline, raised concerns that he may have had an adverse reaction to anesthesia or that his health status was not fully disclosed at the time of adoption.
Out of concern for his wellbeing and the inability to provide the intensive care he clearly needed, I made the very difficult decision to return him to the rescue in hopes they could get him the treatment he requires.
This experience was heartbreaking. I understand that rescues often operate under pressure and deal with challenging situations, but I believe adopters deserve full transparency—especially when it comes to an animal’s health. In this case, it felt as though crucial information may have been withheld, and that left me feeling unprepared and misled.
I’m sharing this not out of anger, but in the hope that others will know to ask more specific questions when adopting—and that rescues will prioritize honest communication. Most of all, I truly hope Taco receives the care he needs and finds a happy, healthy future.

Great animal rescue and great staff ! I couldn’t be happier with my experience .From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and clearly cared about the animals. They were patient while I spent time with different kitties to find the perfect match . I definitely recommend coming here to adopt your next fur baby
