This is just a quick Covid19 update for those who believe in the pandemic. Winn-Dixie is back to their normal hours. With this branch, there was a box of sanitizer wipes just inside the door on the windowsill for customers to use to wipe off your cart. That is good. Masks are required but of course, it is not enforced. I don't expect them to wrestle with or get shot by anti-maskers. That is why I wear mine. They do, however, perhaps encourage this behavior somewhat, because half of the employees I saw on my most recent trip either weren't wearing one or wearing it under their nose or around their neck, including the cashier. Of course, they are out of stock on the usual sanitizing items, plus some odd stuff, like Swiffer supplies.

At 7:45PM I go up to the Entrance in the rain...the door is locked. Some handwritten piece of notebook paper was on the door and people were coming out of the Exit Doors. So I walked in the Exit Door and all the employees were there and I said The Entrance is locked, they replied yes we are doing something over there later. So I asked where are the carts and baskets-they said over by the Entrance. I said if you are forcing people to come in through the Exit why don't you bring some carts and baskets down here. I was told I could walk back over to the Entrance and get them. I explained again I was all ready over there and the door was locked. I would have bought more items had a basket or cart been available to me. It is as if not one employee cared at all. I asked the cashier the name of the Store Manager. He literally said he had no idea who the store Manager is...I wont make the mistake of going here again. I imagine do to poor management this location will close soon enough. Food Items are like seconds. The Frozen food items have freezer burn. They literally only carry one type of potato. The store is a blight on the neighborhood.

For me, Winn Dixie in Tavares, Florida has the worst customer service of any grocery store I have been in, in my entire life which spans many decades. I've had a cashier there just not even speak when I was asking her a question regarding a purchase I was making. I was talking to her and no one was there but her and me. She remained silent. I spoke to the manager immediately and he informed me that "she doesn't talk a lot." Oh, I thought, surely she spoke before she was hired and surely you'd expect a cashier unless she had a disability to answer a customer's question regarding a purchase, but apparently he didn't think that. I've had one cashier that every single time I went to her line she was teasing and playing with me and ultimately there would be a problem with her register that would further delay me. I stopped going to her line and often she would still end up at the register for my check out. So I stopped going in when I could see she was in the store. I did complain about her but never heard anything back. They do have a lot of in-store promotions but you have to be careful that you understand exactly what the promotions are. They tend to mix different promotions together in a confusing way so you might see a bunch of BOGO offers and then there will be a Buy 2 get 1 mixed in. You have to be very careful. They have a customer reward card to increase your savings but they don't always ask for it. I don't think that their staff is well trained in customer service. I've never had a customer service problem at Aldi's, I've had a couple of problems at Publix and they were exceptional in responding and at Save A Lot a couple of problems that were immediately resolved. Again this is over many years I've had this experience with the Winn-Dixie in Tavares. If I go to this store 30 times, twenty (20) of those times will be problematic. The sad part is Winn-Dixie in Tavares is the first store I ever went to when I moved to Lake County and over the years their customer service has gone down. Winn-Dixie in Tavares has a very good meat department and I will probably continue patronizing their meat department but limiting my time in their store and confining my purchases to meat.

If your cashiers are sick....then why do you have them touch peoples food? The cashier Karen was so sick she couldn't even talk! But you're gonna have her touch peoples food? Disgusting. You've lost me as a customer.
