The place is small and there is no space to park or maneuver the car. We rented a moving truck in Jacksonville and returned here, no way the truck fit in the parking lot. The truck condition was horrible, brakes were shut, vibrations were horrible, noise and quality of the ride unbearable. Windshield vipers were old and didn't work. We reported our issues and the truck was going to be fixed. We also called customer service and were told that we shouldn't drive the truck if it was not safe..... well the truck shouldn't be rented in this condition for sure. Unfortunately we found out all the problems after the truck was loaded and on the road. Budget customer service blamed us for renting a broken truck, apparently we should know better.....

Budget in Venice is by far the best rental agency in the area. They go above and beyond and always give you the best deal possible. I highly recommend Venice Budget for your car rental needs.

I returned my car full of gas. I went inside and talked to Angel. After checking with the guy in back, Angel acknowledged my rental was returned with a full tank of gas. She confirmed that no extra charges would be processed. I took the time to go inside and make sure, to avoid problems, considering all the bad reviews this Budget location has.The next day, my card got hit $78 for gas anyways. When I came back to the Budget location to complain, I was told that Angel was “busy”. I got Jackie who tried to give me a 1-800 number to call, like it’s my responsibility to fix their mistake. Jackie begrudgingly agreed to fax in a request for the fuel charge to be reversed.That was over a month ago. I called to check on the refund and Angel put me on hold before I could say anything. It was like “hello this is Budget please hold” then after 5 min hold, I asked for Angel about a erroneous fuel charge, but Jackie said Angel does not handle client complaints. Then as I tried to give her my rental number, and before I could even tell her who I was, Jackie said she remembered me, and that she faxed in the fuel refund request twice.I had to call the 1-800 number, that it’s not her job or her problem, Jackie implied. She offered to give me the number and refused to answer any more questions. I told her it was her responsibility not mine. She said all she could do was give me a number to call. I started asking why she would not help me, she was rude and cut me off. I asked about Budget corporate policy on assisting customers and Jackie hung up on me. She is so rude and uncaring.These people need corporate training on customer service. Without improvement, things will get worse because the staff doesn’t care about the people they are paid to serve.I called Budget Auto Corporate and they didn’t know anything about my situation. Never got any request from the local store. It sounded like if your complaining about that location, they reverse fuel charges automatically. Hoping the $78 goes back in my account soon.

Moving to NY, I Paid 1800 for a filthy truck with the engine light on that obviously wasn't ready for a trip that long. Thank God I added roadside assistance, because i Didn't even make it out of the state before something went wrong and the tire on the car carrier came loose while going 55 mph down the highway (it was a wheel bearing). Ended up stuck in Jacksonville until the next day waiting on a replacement carrier. They also did not compensate the hotel money like they said they would. These people are crooks. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. I will never use budget again.

They SAVED my day! the "nucklehead" from Venice Hertz gave away my reserved rental prior my arrival and offered me to seek elsewhere... Called Budget and this lady not only had a car of my preference but also matched the price! You saved my DAY! thanks so much! will always recommend and do business with.

Affordable rentals - however I had one rental contract for approx $200.00. I was charged a reserve on my credit card for $400.00 two times and upon return $200.00 rental fee. It took 6 business days to get the $800.00 reserve lifted. Not acceptable.

The team, Jackie and Angel primarely at the Venice Budget location are fantastic. Jackie deserves a metal. I have seen her in action and she is a sweetheart. She is courteous snc respectful of everyone. Go girl. She and Angel are the reason I won't go anywhere else.

Very good experience with Venice Budget Car Rental. I will certainly recommend them to anyone I know very affordable and also excellent personnel at the office and the gentleman who preps the vehicles and get some ready for the customers. He was extremely polite and answered my questions I had. Thank you Cheryl

0/10 would not recommend at all. Jackie (that works there) was very rude, over charged on things she did not mention and refused to fix the problem. Gear shift in their Chevy Blazer only worked when it wanted. Bluetooth did not work. Unless they get rid of her this company will not have a bright future and eventually will be sued.

I want to share my experience THUS-FAR With this location. Sorry it is a bit long. I rented a minivan through the Port Charlotte location. I needed to adjust the time and ended up calling customer service to assist with this adjustment. During that contact I found out that the Port Charlotte location canceled my reservation without my knowledge at all. I redid the reservation for a second time, at which time the associate over the phone told me everything looked great with my reservation. I didn't feel 100% confident with the tone of his voice so I called the next morning to verify my reservation looked great, since I was picking up the car the very next day. Upon that second phone call I confirmed that they canceled my reservation yet again without my knowledge, mind you I'm still receiving emails and texts verifying my reservation. At this point I'm getting nervous because I have six of us including four kids, going out of town for 5 days and this is our only means of transportation. I then began to try to contact the Port Charlotte location which I probably did 20 times with no one answering not once. Throughout this whole process I spoke to the manager at the Venice location a couple of times, her name was Jackie and she was amazing answering a few questions for me, which in the end resulted in me changing my reservation to the Venice location. I called Jackie the day before I was due to pick up a van and asked her if she had anything available because I just changed my reservation to her location, she was a little hesitant because they were low on the vehicles I needed and asked me to call back at 8:00 a.m. today. I called this morning and she wasn't 100% sure she could get me into a mini van but she said we would definitely be able to get me into an SUV at the very least. Upon arrival Jackie was there at the counter and checked me in, handed me keys for a brand new 2023 minivan with 74 miles on it. She was friendly, emphatic to my issues and MADE IT HAPPEN. our vacation would have been completely ruined without HER. We had allot of damage from Ian on our home and weren't sure we were even going to have a vacation this year. Financially it was almost impossible, but our kids deserve this once a year and I CANNOT THANK HER ENOUGH FOR SAVING OUR TRIP. There was no other options in the price range of my initial reservation through my work. She's a blessing and I 100% recommend this location. Will update at checkout if needed!

Experienced a flat tire fortunately at a place where I thought I could get service but took almost a complete day before it was resolved. Completely ruined one day of my vacation. Was cut off at least 6 times during conversations with no return calls. Car with flat did not have wheel lock piece to get tire off. Wanted me to drive on small spare for a week. Started at 845 AM and finally got a replacement vehicle at 7:45 PM. A joke.
