“Was visiting Venice for the beach and came across this shop along the way and fell in love with the clothes there especially because of my Slavic heritage. Marina was so sweet and helped me find the perfect garment that spoke to me. Amazing customer service and really beautiful clothing. Definitely coming back again.”

“I was visiting Venice Beach for the afternoon while on vacation to hunt for some shark teeth, given the city’s claim to fame as being the “shark tooth capital”. Following a few hours at the beach - I was hoping to find a souvenir shirt to commemorate the visit. Something that carried the tagline.

This nice shop in the downtown Venice area had exactly what I was after. (Literally)

“I pulled Nana’s up on Google to see the hours and was shocked to find so many poor reviews. I have been going to Nana’s for years. And when I say years, I mean… years. Since I was a kid.

I now bring my children here. Is Nana’s a discount toy store? Absolutely not. Is it a magical store where kids get to be kids and explore with wonder? Absolutely. It’s giving Shop Around the Corner from “You’ve Got Mail”but for toys.

Two years ago, my 5 year old saw a puppet at Nana’s. He was always freaked out by puppets but the store manager showed him the puppet and played with it with him very gently and encouragingly. Needless to say, we left with the puppet in hand (no pun intended 🤭).

Fast forward two years, my children have saved their money to spend on spring break. My now 7 year old had one goal and one goal only, Nana’s for another puppet. And he was not disappointed! He now has 2 puppets from Nana’s and a handful of other toys.

But the best part is, he has for 2 years loved this store and remembered his experience there. Nana’s is pure magic in his mind, and mine if I’m honest. When’s the last time you clung to an experience buying a toy at Walmart? …I’ll wait.

Too long, didn’t read. Nana’s is the epitome of the nostalgic, mom & pop experience. They have great quality toys and an even better atmosphere. Take the time to soak it in and enjoy a store that cares about their customers.”
