I hired Susan and Ron to totally remodel my condo and I will say the design phase went very well. They have samples, computer simulation, everything. But when the construction started it was a disaster. There were so many things done improperly it is amazing they are still in business. The painter was horrible, brush strokes everywhere, no proper cut ins,, he was finally run out of town. The cabinet installer cut huge holes for the electrical that the plates don't cover them, I still have holes I need fill in and paint myself. He was run out of town too i believe. I can go on, but I grew frustrated with poor craftsmanship and people they hired, I expressed my frustration and then Ron stopped replying to me. I never cussed, yelled, but he just shut down. Susan kept in touch and while we are "finished", they never completed a final checklist! I never signed the document saying I am satisfied, we are done. So so unprofessional! Seems like they hire the lowest cost and poorest quality people around. Read other reviews, they/Ron, have stopped communicating with other customers. Again, great through design phase, horrible implementation and follow-through!!

My husband a retired mechanical engineer was in charge of grounds, maintenance, and new construction for an airport. I retired as a casualty liability adjuster that handled claims in six states. We had our condo in Virginia Beach renovated in 2021. We are aware of the renovation process. We do understand that things happen and we are not the only clients. We hired DRS (Design and Remodeling Solutions) in July of 2022. Our renovation cost was approximately $120,000. We thought this cost would include open and professional communication as well as site supervision of subcontractors. The supervision of subcontractors did not meet our standards. We were told on January 26, 2023 that the electrician would be coming to our condo the next day January 27, 2023 at 9:00 AM. At 10:30 my husband contacts DRS. He speaks with the co-owner Susan O'Brien. My husband asked for the office manager and was told the office manager was not in. My husband asked Mrs. O'Brien if the office manager would be in soon since we had a 9:00 appointment. He asked Mrs. O'Brien if she could reach out to the office manager because we have been patiently waiting. Mrs. O'Brien tells my husband " I have already told you three times I am not sure when she is coming in and you are not our only client". I then asked Mrs. O'Brien who did she think she was speaking with since my husband is clearly an adult and we don't tolerate such rudeness. I ended the call.I thought she would have apologized to my husband for the electrician not showing up at 9:00 contact the office manager and get back with us within the hour for a resolution.The co-owner Mrs. Susan O'Brien's actions were rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. It is apparent that she does not value her client's and she is not respectful of there time. I cannot in good conscience recommend (DRS) Design and Rremodeling Solutions! Two Thumbs down.

Dreadful (don’t use):• Unsupervised sub-contractors plumbing placed in the incorrect spot resulting in the need to employ a different drain; mirror not centered to sink; wrong colored cabinet installed; outside electrical outlet left with wires exposed to the elements• Owners unresponsive emails and phone call not returned by Ron or Susan• Unable to meet timelines more than six months behind scheduleService: Bathroom remodeling

It was pleasure to finally find a Company that is Professional and honest, who actually show up on time. Their creativity is second to none. They remodeled a hose for us and came up with great ideas, both construction wise and decorating. Ron and Sue are a great team!! I highly recommend them.Services: Remodeling

Ron’s company has helped us with several projects. He is very meticulous when working with customers. Ron makes sure that the customer always gets the best work possible. I watched Ron install tile in our bath and was amazed at how fast and accurate he was. He makes sure to clean up each day so that you don’t have to worry about a mess. Thank you Ron & Sue, for the remodeling of our kitchen. We had no trouble making appointments to get in to look at samples of countertop, hardware, paint samples, etc. Allowing us to take samples home to review them in our environment helped tremendously. Your manager, Jimmy, was there almost every day, and was available by phone to us for questions and to manage our concerns along the way. We are enjoying our new kitchen!Services: Drywall repair

DRS completed a whole house renovation including complete redesign of kitchen, two bathrooms, and 2,000 square feet of new flooring in our seasonal home. From Ron O'Brien’s initial home visit and expedient project cost estimate to his handling of the few post-completion punch list items, his professionalism was consistent throughout the project, which came in on time and on budget.While we knew roughly what we wanted with the kitchen and master bathroom redesigns, DRS' owner/operators, Ron's and his wife, Susan's, patience and keen insight guided us through several design iterations before landing on the final version. Each iteration was supported by both 2D and 3D renderings.DRS primarily uses 2-3 cabinet manufacturers. We chose the Cabico cabinets for the kitchen and two bathrooms and the O’Brien’s helped us decide on the product line was best suited for our home and budget. We received objective, independent guidance rather than being steered toward the most expensive cabinets. We followed Susan’s design advice and went with subtle light blue-gray base cabinets for the island which perfectly compliment both the white perimeter base cabinets and the quartz countertop.Susan was also particularly helpful assessing our general preferences and at our request, she helped us with final decisions on the flooring and wall tiles in the bathroom, kitchen backsplash, all plumbing fixtures, lighting, larger format bathroom mirrors, and even helped us coordinate wall paint colors throughout the house. As an example, all plumbing fixtures are from a well-known US brand but the higher quality versions recommended by Susan cannot be found in big-box stores. Love the quality.We waited about a year before providing this review because we wanted to live in the house long enough to completely evaluate the quality of the cabinets, fixtures, flooring and all related installation. We are extremely happy with our entire experience with DRS. Ron is the type of professional who one can trust after shaking hands, knowing that the work will be completed as agreed upon, on time and on budget with no surprises. We found Susan’s eye for design to be practical but exceptional. Thank you, Ron and Susan!!I highly recommend that those reading this review to strongly consider DRS for your next home building or renovation project.Services: Paint indoors

As I was looking through, Home and Design Magazine 2020 Volume1. I happened to see them using one of the projects that FineCraft Custom Cabinetry, an architect, her husband a licensed contractor, and I as an employee of FineCraft at the time worked on as a team! Our clients were wonderful people, and everything we designed and built was custom! This company is taking credit for a project they had nothing to do with, and spend not a single drop of work on!!! This is unprofessional, and they are liars!!! This is a red flag! If they have to use other people’s work for their promotion, they are of the poorest quality, and obviously not talented if they have to steal and publish other professional’s work!

We recently used DRS to remodel our Master Bathroom and repaint both the bedroom and bathroom.The entire staff was knowledgeable, professional and respectful of our home. Ron and Sue incorporated all of our must haves with their unique design ideas. The design included structural changes, plumbing, electrical, tiling, safety features, and of course all new cabinetry. All work was completed by DRS staff, no sub-contracting..The job was completed on time and within budget. We are super impressed with the zero entry shower and the overall beauty and functionality. In our opinion, this is a difficult area to find quality contractors. Check them out before you make a final decision!!!Verna and RichNorth Port, Fl.1/12/2020

On a scale of 1 to 10 this company rates as a gigantic "0". However, the sub contractors they hire are by and far the best part of doing business with them. Frankly, unless you are lazy or don't have an opinion of your own I wouldn't hire them for a dog house remodel. The owners believe they know what looks good or functions best and honestly you will get more of what they want than the things that make your house truly a home for you. Susan isn't really a designer but she likes to play one for her clients the real designers are the ones who create their computer generated plans and work tirelessly behind the scenes trying to keep the DRS dumpster fire from completely taking over your remodel job. Do yourself a favor pick another design company.
