Made a reservation on October 2nd 8am, for Friday October 3rd. Arrive Friday October 3rd at 8:02, door closed. Guy unlocks, doesn't open the door for me, ok fine... Income in, not even a hello. He sits at counter, I stand at counter with credit card and license, 3 minutes of pure silence, asks me my name and proceeds to tell me he has NO FLEET available. Uhm, no cars and basically that's it. That he has to call around and that so many people made appointments when he was closed, blah blah blah. So, if you are wondering how the process is here, that's my Personal experience. Very unfortunate as I truly needed the car for today, so I'm left stranded. Hope this helps.

Went to pick up my rental for which I had reserved and paid ahead of time . Zero cars available. The staff are nice but the management of the company has declined year after year. It is not the onsite staff's fault. It is the organization above them.

I dont even have words to describe the amount of disrespect that spewed from the man’s mouth. Never recommend going to this location unless you have a high tolerance for toddler like behavior.

Worst car rental experience in my life at this Hertz rental location. My SUV was filthy, the location was filthy, They don't even have furniture in there office. The SUV they gave was not ready or even clean when I came to pic it up. The SUV had over 50k miles on it and was not road worthy. Over 50pmh all it did was shake and when you hit the brakes was a whole different level of shaking. They screwed up my bill and over charged me. The person at the desk just lies and wouldn't even give me his name or get a manager. Here is my rental # RR816141863

They cancelled us then kept our money! We booked a car from this location online in early February and within a few minutes someone by the name of Joe called and left a message saying they don't have any cars for us. We immediately called him back to confirm we were not charged for this rental since we just gave a credit card online. He actually answered the phone and assured us we would not. We received our credit card in the mail a few weeks later and we in fact did get charged. We have tried every phone number we can find and we can't get a person to answer. We emailed Hertz customer service a week ago and never received a response. When we try to call the store it just rings and rings. Hertz was the one who cancelled us and now they are keeping our $272!

If you want to simply use a debit card to pay for your rental car, they will credit check you. As in they will literally run a credit check on you while you stand there and wait for your car and if you don’t qualify, they will deny you.

Would be nice if they would answer the phone. Been trying for an hour to reply to their voice message ( telling me they could not find the car we reserved). I had to cancel the reservation and go to Enterprise ( who has was very accommodating with great customer service).

Booked a car through Expedia at this Hertz location. You would think that a company as large as Hertz would take care of their customers. I got a call from an employee named Joseph at the location when I was just 15 minutes away after driving 40 minutes to get the car I was renting. He told me he didn’t have any cars on the lot and that he couldn’t give me my rental. . Again, I had already driven and my appointment was just a few minutes away. Admittedly, I was upset with him, and kind of told him where to go on the phone. There were no apologies once from this guy. No sorry. No nothing. I booked the car three hours previously because my car had engine problems and I had to bring it to a mechanic. This Joseph guy said to me, you shouldn’t have booked so quickly!! Crazy. Don’t trust these guys.

I went with a friend that rented a car in Miami, and drove over to visit us on the west coast. He rented a Nissan from Hertz that needed the tires balance. Instead of giving him a different car, Hertz ask us to take it to a Pep Boys tire store in Venice to have the tires balance. We waited for 5 hours to get the work done. Needles to say, our day was shot down. Hopefully Hertz will compensate him for his inconvenience.

I have been using Hertz for many years and have never had such a disgusting experience as in this Venice, FL office. My job at Ford required intensive travel and I can claim hundreds of car rentals over the 30 years of my career. Upon return, the clerk objected vehicle's cleanliness and punished me with the $400 cleaning fee. There were no scratches, stains, paint spots, burns, oils, or chemical spots, or traces. We don't smoke or do drugs. The vehicle has been returned after three weeks of rental and does require normal vacuum cleaning and preparation before the next rental. There were a few bread crumbs, limited fiber from my wife's cashmere jacket and a few flower leaf. The clerk complained his Hertz office is short on people and he would need to clean the vehicle. The clerk refused to provide his manager's full contact information and provided me with the receipt where a charge of $400 was listed as an accepted charge. He declined to revise the receipt with the statement that the interior cleaning fee of $400.00 was the disputed charge. Hertz contract states that upon return car requires more than Hertz standard cleaning, Hertz may charge you an additional fee.
The vehicle doesn't require more than vacuum cleaning. The clerk requested me to leave the office and threatened to call the police. I will contact Hertz head office on Monday to escalate the issue and exercise legal options to compensate my monetary and other damages. I do have pictures of the vehicle's interior and videos of the conversations with the clerk.
After assessing the situation, Hertz corporate Office immediately returned my $400. I still have not received the apologies from the local management. This is disgusting and extremely wrong threatening the customer with the police just for the request to provide the correct statement and invoice. I guess this location doesn't deserve to be a Hertz franchisee.
