When I first walked into the Rustic Rooster I was greeted with a warm welcome. ALWAYS a good start for me since I have been in customer service for over 35 years and feel like it is no longer the most important piece for most businesses anymore. I am someone who is going to get into restoring and painting old furniture and had questions regarding paints, techniques, and general questions after watching hours and hours of Youtube. Rose was so kind in answering all of my questions and suggested a paint class she was putting on that weekend so I could learn even more about why she uses Annie Sloan paint and how it can be used with the right techniques. Annie Sloan paint was the one I was leaning toward after my own research so I signed my husband and I up for the class. If you are looking for a fun, interactive, learning experience with your partner this is a great class to take. Rose is very knowledgeable and most of all, she is KIND. She has been in the business for many years and she wants all of the artists that walk through her door (and more) to succeed in whatever project they are working on. From beginner to experienced you will find what you are looking for at the Rustic Rooster. ~Terri

We really enjoyed our visit to the Rustic Rooster. The store has unique and beautiful items. Rose and Bob are wonderful people (and a comedy tag team). They took the time to explain the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint products and my wife can't wait to take the class. If you are in the area take the time to stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Love everything about the Rustic Rooster Venice - from Rose, the friendly and fabulous owner, to the decor, gifts and design inspo in every corner. Recently I was fortunate to snag a space in one of the small group Annie Sloan chalk painting classes. I had a ball and learned a ton! Rose shared tips and techniques that have given me the confidence to take on some more ambitious projects, like my bathroom cabinets, as soon as I can decide what color! The Rustic Rooster is such an asset to downtown Venice. Thanks for all you do!

06.15 Been on the hunt for Annie Sloan chalk paint, so packed up the kids in my mom mobile and made the trek down to Venice. Rustic Rooster is so shabby chic. I so wanted to browse and check out every little corner but with little ones in tow maybe some other time. Beelined to the paint shelf, debated on a few colors... so many pretty ones to choose from. I also had the kids picked out their fav colors in sample size cans to paint our next project. Brought home 4 different colors, a few brushes, clear wax finish and a paint roller. Annie Sloan is not cheap... I def splurged. The owner was so sweet, gave me an impromptu class on chalk paint 101. Said to give her a call if I have any questions. Can't wait to build my paint color collection.

Inspiration begins even before you open the door! Inside, you'll find a delightful Yorkie willing to put in her two cents on color choices. And a helpful owner/artist who really knows the Annie Sloan product and processes. Sundry unique gift items and local made jewelry are pleasant surprises as well.

I just adore this little shop! Rose is the sweetest. Today I came in for Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Rose helped me find the correct shade for the pieces I'll be working on. She even gave me some helpful hints. I'll definitely be back to replenish my supply when it gets low. It's so nice to have a place like this nearby.
