So relieved by placing my partner in the Memory Care Unit. Staff were outstanding in helping him adjust; I was very impressed with their caring and expertise. Thanks so much for making a difficult experience manageable!

I moved my husband to Venice Palms a month ago from another facility due to severe neglect. The first thing I noticed is how caring everyone is. Staff has been here a long time, has a high level of training in dementias, has an excellent ratio of caregiver to resident, communication has been excellent, and each employee participates in the care needed. I am so glad I found Venice Palms. It’s been a night and day difference so far.

My mother moved in a few months ago, reluctantly. It only took a few days for her to love being in her new apartment with all the incredible help, fantastic food, engaging activities and the nicest staff. It feels like a family. It brought her back to life.

I had the pleasure meeting Nohemi Reyes (resident care coordinator). Any questions/concerns was answered with warm welcoming words. I appreciated the education and time that was taken. Dementia/Alzheimer is a terrible illness within itself but it’s worse when it’s one of your own love ones. Thank you Nohemi for doing what you do on a daily basis as it takes special kinda of someone that has patience’s to care about others.

I began working here on June 30, 2025, as their Leasing & Marketing Director, I have spent 16 years in the Senior Living Industry and in my short time here I have found this to be one of the best to work for, I have found this community to be a wonderful place for Older Adults to live, everyone is pleasant and caring towards the residents. We offer Independent, Assisted and Memory Care support, all at very reasonable pricing with care included! something you don't see very often in this business, the community offers a full schedule of Activities and food that is some of the best. What I feel sets us apart is that home like feeling when you walk through the door! and our care for residents! If you are searching for a great Senior Living Community with reasonable pricing in Venice, FL come and check us out for yourself! and see why our residents say it best when they say it just feels like home!

This community is warm and welcoming from the moment you walk through the door. The staff are inviting and caring. It's always difficult placing loved ones in a community, but this community will completely melt away any hesitancy you may have walked in with.

This was a very difficult decision to post this as most staff are wonderful and residents are happy, but I feel it's necessary. My sister passed away in Pennsylvania and I flew down to Florida after her service to visit my father, who resides at Venice Palms. I left my purse in his room as he and I went upstairs for lunch. As the staff have master keys to the rooms we didn't lock his door, as most all residents do not lock their doors. After lunch I went to the store to purchase items for my father and discovered all of my cash missing from my wallet, $1100.00. I also had my passport, credit cards and foreign currency and they left that. Oddly enough after lunch my father's door was locked(not by us) and we had to get a staff member to unlock the door. We both thought this was odd. I live overseas which is why I had this much cash on me. I filed a police report and discovered anything over $900.00 is grand theft. I will never see this money again. However, at the very least for the safety of the residents I would hope Venice Palms will install CCTV cameras in the hallways. i could have also possibly recovered my money by discovering who went into his room.
Also, after noticing my cash missing and telling the sales director, she was very dismissive and rude to me, insinuating there really wasn't any money stolen, as if I was making this up. I'm extremely disappointed as I know the staff could have done more, such as gathering all the workers and telling them a police report has been filed. This was the lowest of lows for me. I know this facility has gone through numerous wonderful staff quitting and new people hired. Hopefully all had to undergo a background check.

The staff here are very good at what they do. They are highly skilled and very compassionate! To me that is key.
The lifestyle they offer the residents is very uplifting and packed with fun things to do. Great place to live!!

My husband and I have been looking for a memory care facility for my father-in-law and Truewood Venice made the top of our list after our encounter with the staff and tour of the facility. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The place was also very clean and tidy. We were advised by a family member that no place will be perfect but to choose the place where the people who live there seem happiest. Of course, the residents in memory care suffer from some form of dementia but the staff give them purpose and allow them to be as independent as possible, and because of this their contentment and happiness show. The general manager, Z and Staci, our coordinator took a lot of time with us not just talking about the facility but also showing genuine care for us and my father-in-law. We were given a lot of helpful advice and we appreciated how experienced and knowledgeable they were. It was also apparent they care about the residents. We were pleased to know a lot of the staff have been with them for many years so they can build relationships with the residents. We are truly thankful for all the help and care we received from both Z and Staci. We don’t know what the future holds for my father-in-law but we hope he gets to spend the last of his days in Truewood Venice.

About a year ago we started looking for an assisted/independent living facility for my mom, who was starting to need more help with daily activities. We did a lot of research online and then visited several options within about 30 miles. Some of the places were very depressing and were immediately crossed off the list. Many of them seemed very “institutional” with long, long hallways that made for quite a walk from the resident’s room to the shared living areas. Most of them had very large dining rooms that reminded me of school cafeterias where meals were served to a hundred or more people at a time.We were starting to get discouraged when someone suggested that we check out Truewood by Merrill in Venice. We scheduled an appointment with Chetta Cometa, the Community Relations Director, and went for a visit. The difference between Truewood and the facilities we had seen previously was striking. At Truewood the atmosphere was upbeat and friendly. The decor was homelike and cozy. The rooms were grouped into neighborhoods of 12 rooms each and each neighborhood had its own living room, kitchen and dining room. They had a lot of daily activities posted such as shopping trips, crafts, etc. The staff was friendly and the residents seemed happy and engaged. We had found a place for Mom!It has now been almost a year since Mom moved into Truewood in Venice and she is very happy, which means her family is also very happy! She has made many friends and is always busy with the activities. She loves the “neighborhood” concept. Eating her meals in the dining room with her neighbors is something she especially enjoys and she has gotten to know them all quite well. She also tells me that the food is excellent. My sister is the administrator of an assisted living facility up north so she is very familiar with the day to day workings of a senior living community. When she came down to visit she said that she was very impressed with Truewood. As the daughter of a Truewood resident she can see how happy Mom is. As a professional in the field of senior living she can see how well the facility is run.For years I had been dreading the time when we would need to find a place for Mom. When we found Truewood by Merrill in Venice we hit the jackpot. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for senior living.

Recently my husband and I visited Truewood in Venice for a tour with their director Chetta, a very caring and empathic person. My mother-in-law currently lives in New Jersey so we are evaluating the possibility of moving her to Florida. Chetta listened carefully to understand our family dynamics, and spent a few hours making suggestions as to how we could proceed. Chetta also gave us a thorough tour of this facility which has a unique and homey layout. Chetta and her staff truly care about their residents, and all are focused on making their comfort and happiness a priority.
