“I use to live in Venice Gardens and have often rented the hall there. Lovely people and always have had a great experience there. I also learned that they have a sort of a "safety patrol" at night, where the neighborhood watches over one another. All in all, I LOVED living there and have many friends that are still there. “Sometimes you need a hotel in a hurry and last night was one of those nights. Our friends’ air conditioning went out and we needed a place fast. Being IHG Diamond Elite members the Holiday Inn Express was the obvious first call and they did not disappoint.

The lady who answered the phone that Sunday early afternoon, just before the end of her shift, was absolutely outstanding. Friendly, professional and had us sorted in minutes. We hung up, booked on the app and were on our way. We genuinely wish we had caught her name because she deserves recognition. If management is reading this it was early afternoon on Sunday May 31 and she was wrapping up her shift.

Check in was fine though the front desk rep was likely newer and didn’t recognize our Diamond Elite status until we mentioned the points at the end. Small thing but worth noting for training purposes. She was pleasant throughout.

The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable, exactly what you need in a pinch. Two maintenance items worth flagging for the team: the TV in our room needs replacing as the image quality was pretty rough, and the GFI outlet in the bathroom kept tripping and wouldn’t reset.

We mentioned both to the rep at checkout. He needed a moment to warm up to the feedback but once he grabbed a pen and wrote it down we felt heard. That’s all you can ask for.

Would we stay here again if passing through? Absolutely.
