Had a cashier question how much I was buying and tell me I need to wait until I had chosen more items rather than apply a one-time 20% discount I had. She also "explained" how the more I spent, the more I could save. Well, duh. I only brought one item to the register because that was all I could find that I wanted or needed.
I was later told by the manager on duty it's a store policy to tell customers they need to do more shopping rather than ring up their purchases when using these discounts because "they don't understand how discounts work." A CSR on their guest services line told me she does the same thing all the time, and after speaking to the store manager, who also thinks it's the job of the cashier to decide whether or not a customer is purchasing enough merchandise to warrant using a discount, or needs to be told what they should be doing instead, I've decided I will not be shopping at Bealls again. That type of selling tactic is at the least manipulative if not outright coercive, and I won't tolerate it.

This store was so clean and neat. We found everything we were looking for. The shoe department was well stocked. Plenty of styles to choose from. The cashiers were attentive and eager to help. Fun place to shop.

They usually have great coupons in their flyer, & if you go at the right time, u can find sales that are lower than Beall's Outlet.
