We cannot say enough amazing things about Bellewood Plantation. We had both our wedding & reception and rehearsal dinner at Bellewood. From the start, the staff has been exceptionally helpful and kind. Sue was very prompt in getting back to me and always answered any questions I had. Cathy was our coordinator and she went above and beyond to make sure our events were perfect. Seth made sure the grounds were flawless. HIGHLY recommend Bellwood Plantation!Thank you again for making our weekend perfect!

I recommend not choose this venue for your wedding. I wish I had read more reviews before choosing this venue. I hope that my story provides some insight into how this business chooses to practice customer service and likely their customer experience through a wedding experience. I believe what they did was unethical and possibly illegal. My first mistake: my husband and I chose this venue in December 2021/January 2022 for our destination wedding to be held April 2023. They required a deposit before signing a contract. My second mistake: we sent the deposit in January without signing the contract first. In February 2022 I received the saddening news that an immediate family member (37 years old, with 2 children) was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We were unsure how long the family member had to live. My research led me to understand they he could have months to live. My biggest dream was to have all of my family members present at my wedding. To hold my wedding at Bellewood Plantation would mean that my family member may not make it so I let the venue know by the end of February/beginning of March 2022 after I had time to process the news and come up with a new plan that we were no longer holding our wedding at their venue (note: more than 1 year before the chosen date giving the business 13 months to fill the date. The venue only held the date for about 2 months). I messaged the venue asking for a refund since we had not signed a contract. Instead of refunding all or some of the deposit (I would have been happy with even a few hundred dollars out of the $1000 deposit) they refused many times stating that when we sent the money we knew it was a non-refundable deposit, completely ignoring that a contract had not been signed, they only held the date for about 2 months, and that they had plenty of time to fill the date. We held our wedding at a venue closer to my family members in July 2022. I am very grateful that all family members were able to make it. Sadly, my immediately family member passed away in summer 2023. I am also grateful for many reasons that I did not hold my wedding at this venue. It would have been very unlikely that my family member would have made it to my original wedding plans set in Florida for April 2023. I am very disappointed in the venues business practices. Their behavior leads me to believe that they do not care about their customer or former customer’s experiences, but instead are more worried about financial gain, even if they do not provide the service that was agreed upon. I would be open to hearing from a customer service member about my experience to reconcile, but for now this is my current experience with this venue. My major take aways:-ALWAYS sign a contract before putting down a deposit-I believe this venue does not uphold ethical and legal business practices

I cannot speak highly enough about this venue. The staff are so amazing and helpful. I had my wedding at this location in June of 2023 and it could not have turned out better. Everyone was very professional and made an amazing effort to make my wedding day perfect.

I attended a wedding at this venue last month, and this venue leaves a whole lot to be desired. The grounds themselves are probably lovely when completely done, but when I arrived for the wedding I attended, I was directed to a weedy field (after several days of rain) behind the house to park. When I got out of my car, after side stepping puddles in my pretty shoes, there was no direction where to go. Heading toward the house made sense, but it seemed odd that there was a HUGE pile of sod and a gentleman building a walkway in that direction. I headed that way anyway, climbing around the building project and sod layers, to discover no sign that a wedding was to take place in 1/2 an hour. No tables, chairs, bar set up - nothing. I walked to the front yard, only to discover nothing there either. I finally approached the house itself and attempted to go inside, except I had to pry open the back door, as it had no door knob! Because there was no one outside to greet and direct guests, everyone ended up crammed in the kitchen and living area of the house, which was where all of the wedding decorations (table arrangements, centerpieces, gifts, etc) were. The wedding finally began in the front yard, so at some point I guess someone put the benches out (though took no care to wipe them off - they were almost all wet), and that in itself went fine. After the ceremony, we were sent to the backyard where tables were set out for dinner. Clearly no one paid attention to the table placement in the unleveled yard, as several tables had standing water under them (again, rain). After seeking out the highest ground, we sat down to enjoy dinner. The reception itself was lovely, but that was in no way a reflection of the venue, the owners or their coordinator - I didn't see anyone but the caterers, bartender and photographer hired by the couple during the reception, no one appeared to be associated with the venue. As the evening progressed, the absolute worst issue with this venue truly came to light - as people rose from dinner to begin mingling many people started noticing dark stains on their clothing. After some comments and discussion, it was discovered that the venue chose THAT MORNING to re-varnish the tables and benches (interestingly in the one picture I posted, you can see said benches). I'm no expert, but anyone who varnishes tables in the summer in Florida in 100% humidity and then expects them to be usable the same day is an idiot. All of the ladies in the bridal party, including the bride, had ruined dresses, as well as many guests. After some discussion with the bridal party, who had been at the venue for several days before the wedding, many other issues came to light, like insects in the home, rooms that were promised that were not ready on arrival, no freezer in the house, a snake in the pool, the list went on. There is no way I would ever recommend this venue to anyone, based on the experience I had as a guest here. The pictures featured here on Google are laughable – these are clearly staged pictures of a very produced wedding set up – it is NOT an accurate representation of what they actually produce for a wedding.

I had my wedding in early October of 2021 at Bellewood. The venue itself is beautiful and the decorations they have made it very easy to have an elegant wedding without a lot of DIY.We stayed the entire weekend and couldn't have been happier, being able to stay at the venue the night before and night of made the wedding so much less rushed and a great experience.Barb was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with when deciding, viewing, and asking questions leading up to the wedding. Sophia was our coordinator and she was incredible. She went above and beyond the entire month before and the day of. Thank you for making our wedding day perfect!

Place was great! A perfect spot for a simple getaway wedding (if you live in South Florida). Ceremony was outdoors. Reception was also outdoors but under a massive pavilion. Staff was great and the place was super clean.

Do NOT book here!!! Save yourself the added stress that I know you're already feeling!!! The one star is only for the beautiful landscape of the property...The grounds are stunning. The staff is constantly changing. Do not trust prior reviews because of this. My wedding was on September 1, 2018. Complete lack of training. Absolute chaos & disorganization. Not something a bride should have to go through!!! Please view my photos to read the full story...& take note that many details were left out due to the length of my post.Have a beautiful wedding day & happily ever after to you all!!!xoxo

I have waited a long time before I decided to write a review! The place is stunning, the natural beauty was amazing. All the pictures came out nice. It was a very nice place. Now, it was like if we didn’t even have anyone there. Your on your own. The people that are there are not in any way there to help you. The lady that runs the place Jennifer was the most uninviting, uneducated, unthoughtful, unhelpful person I’ve ever dealt with. I was the mother of the bride so I couldn’t make the decision to not have my daughters wedding there. Throughout the night we would find Jennifer in the back. No help what so ever. The real reason I would be very careful to have a wedding here is because if for what ever reason it rains your entire dance floor will be flooded. They will not squeegee the water out. You are on your own. All the ladies that wore gowns including the wedding party had water all the way up there dresses. The fans I ordered were drenched and did not work because it was too much rain. The beer and liquor is under the tree, they should of had umbrellas to at least be able to go get a drink without getting wet. The wooden area to the bar was beyond slippery. It was amazing none of our guest fell. The DJ equipment got wet. They talk to much about having everyone insured, they never checked that the DJ wasn’t and therefore a lot of his equipment was damaged. In the end I know my daughter compensated him well. That should of fallen on the insurance that they required. Jennifer is a do nothing, i don’t understand how someone that owns that property would trust someone so non experience in the industry. My daughters wedding was beautiful Because our guest made the most of it. They were all very understanding and did not stop to complain. In the end we though we should at least receive something back, Bellewood would not give us a dime. If they did my review would of been better. In order for this place to work if there is rain they would have to extend the tarp another 4 feet all the way around. On top of that they would have to build a perimeter around the entire floor to flush the excess water out into another area. I’m writing this because there is hope if they did some construction and hire a more personable person with experience in running a hall. I hope you find a beautiful place for your future wedding.
