“Had a fun adventure at JC Penny today. I just got back from Sri Lanka last week and I only had a single pair of clothing and a pair of broken sandals that I brought back. (I hate checking bags) So time to buy new threads! First I went to Dillards spent about an hour there, bought nothing, then went to JC Penny, and then back to Dillards. I was trying to decide if was gonna I buy a new wardrobe or just one outfit. I was there about two hours, between the two stores.
But I LITERALLY looked like a homeless dude. I had a broken flip flop, and a dirty shirt on. Hadnt done laundry since I got back.
Luckily I found some on sale dockers flip flops, and a clearance Haggar Shirt. After purchasing those, I decided I wanted a pair of khaki shorts. Get a complete outfit. I needed some clean underwear,? because my underwear hadn't been washed since Sri Lanka....(Future shoppers, you're welcome) So I opened the package in the fitting room, planning to buy them regardles along with a pair of khaki shorts. I'd already purchased two items, so I assumed they'd know I was gonna purchase those too. But to my surprise 2 cops were waiting for me outside as I walked out of the fitting room with the open package in my hand, and I was told I needed to pay for the boxers and was being trespassed and kicked out from the store forever.
Makes sense.I looked homeless and looked like I was stealing. I apologized. I sheepily paid for the open package of boxers, and was escorted out. Then to make myself feel better, I went next door and spent 400$ in Dillards on 4 pair of Round Table and Yorke Chinos, and a Sport Coat.
In short, the experience was great. I'd still recommend JC Penny highly as the Haggar Shirt was a good deal at 27 dollars, and my grandma loved the store, and always took me there as a kid, so there's nostalgia there too. Plus, the lady who rang me up for the first purchase was a sweetheart.
But overall, Dillards gave me a quieter shopping experience. So go there first, because they don't care if you look sketchy. ? But props to the manager, I'd probably kick me out too. I seriously just looked weird. But I feel better sharing the story, and I'm giving 5 stars for the adventure!”
