As Lowes moves to complete self checkout I have encountered more delays in checking out than I have in the years I have been a customer. Error after error has occurred at the register. Failure to read prices, failure to read clearance prices, failure of the scanner, failure of reading gift cards, etc. And with all the money they are saving by not paying staff their prices remain high. On my last trip I looked to purchase 5 items. 4 of them were half price at Amazon. The fifth item was on clearance and failed to ring up at the self serve register, you probably guessed that!

I have always preferred Lowe’s above Home Depot, however since they no longer have checkers that is chged. I just came from a cancer treatment (not feeling well) the one (1) person supposed to be helping totally kept staring at me and scanning someone else’s cart and smiling. I was having a problem getting my veteran discount to apply ,so I then went to the service desk to get checked out. This so not acceptable in my world especially for a veteran. Bad news for Lowe’s since I am quite sure I am not the only one that rather have a human assistant when checking out.

Looks like we have to check ourselves out now on.... Two days in a row I had to go to another store because you guys think restocking your aisles during the day is more important than selling to your contractors

Went to this store last night to buy some gardening supplies. Get to the checkout area and there were no cashiers on duty. Instead it was all self checkout. There were 4 employees in the customer service area that could have been manning a register, but they weren't. Instead one was sniffing the other one's cologne/perfume. No point in saying anything since this is a conscious choice by Lowe's management. I refuse to use self checkout at a store where I pay premium prices. Lowes, self checkout is a trap that leads to higher shrink (then higher prices), go back to having cashiers.
