D&G Antiques is in the Villas along Antique Row on Dixie Hwy in West Palm Beach. Antique Row began as a handful of antique businesses that sprang up in the 1970's in an area that had been on a decline. By 1979 there were seven dealers on the 3700 block of Dixie Highway. Antique Row received a boost from a 1990's Architectural Digest article declaring it the best place in West Palm Beach to find treasures from 1920s Art Deco to mid-century modern. By 2003, Antique Row was drawing comparisons to the Rue de Beaune in Paris and New King's Road in London. Today trendy restaurants have joined the antique stores and there is a popular annual street fair.D&G's antique gallery sells a collection of fine antique, vintage, and mid-century modern and decorative accessories. They also sell one of a kind art and prints. I like how they prop the door open to make it more welcoming to stroll in. Once you enter you are surrounded by lamps, furniture, ceramics, and art objects worth thousands of dollars. It is cramped inside and I found myself clutching my bag tightly to ensure I didn't end up buying anything I couldn't afford. I can definitely see someone from one of the oceanfront Palm Beach mansions finding the perfect finishing piece for a room here. For me it was just fun to look.

Owner/manager/worker....whoever, was so terribly rude. Left me feeling very uncomfortable.
