Too bad a zero star is not an option. Not sure what the hiring process is for this location (3175 Belvedere Road. West Palm beach, Florida) but rudeness and being unprofessional must be a required skill. Everyone at this location was extremely unprofessional and when I responded back to their petty behavior they cancelled my reservation. Of course they all refused to give me any names. But it turned out for the best. Went over to Budget rent a car where I was greeted by a professional agent, a nice clean vehicle and excellent rates.

Manager on staff this afternoon was a great help in getting a billing issue resolved. I would like to insert that the previous manager a guy with dark curly hair, dressed like Miami Vice from the 80’s brushed me off on this same issue. If I only met him my review would be zero stars!!! So I really appreciate the person who did what was RIGHT today because it’s right!On another note corporate dropped the ball on trying to convert this location to all electric vehicles, this store does not have the staff to support this change nor the volume of customers coming in from PBIA.

I have nothing but good things to say about renting from Dollar. I rented a basic car. Nothing exciting. When I went to pick it up the lady at the counter said it would be an hour delay. I waited and then when I went to get the car I got upgraded to a Polestar 2 with free navigation! Dropped off the vehicle at Fort Lauderdale airport with no trouble and no hidden fees. I will be using them for sure!!!!

Never again Dollar! I am a travel professional and rent cars often and book cars frequently for our business. I booked three large passenger vans for a group visiting Miami from Europe. At the time they didn't know who their drivers would be and I thought I was simply reserving the vehicles with my credit card which was to be used for the rental on all of the vans. I have been doing this for 30 years, mostly with Budget and Enterprise but Dollar had a good rate. When we got to the reservation counter to change the driver name on two of the vehicles, not changing the credit card info but providing additional credit cards as needed, we were told we had to pay for two additional drivers. The employee at the counter was a little short, trying to get us through quickly and had me sign for the rental. He added without asking, Roadside assistance on all three vehicles. I am a AAA member and would never have agreed to that as it isn't needed. Other drivers were also AAA members. He said if we have issues with the additional drivers to call Dollar and have them change it. We called two days later asking for the additional drivers to be taken off and the roadside assistance fee on all of the vehicle. The guy was nice but said he couldn't do anything during the rental period. So day after renting we call Dollar and ask them to remove these charges and after an hour on the phone they said they can't do anything. Oh, and it also took 90 minutes to pick up the vans at the airport. We had to wait with 33 very jetlagged elderly people. Big fail on this one Dollar. Enterprise and Budget will now be my go to's regardless of the price. They seem to understand customer service. I've never put a bad review on a website like this but I feel that I need to caution anyone else considering using Dollar car rental.

This place is horrible, I'll never do business with dollar rental car again. Firstly, when you pay money up front and have a set time for pickup, a vehicle should be ready for you. They could not deliver on that. Upon arrival after traveling all day was told I would need to wait in additional at least hour or more. They had a parking lot full of vehicles and refuse to accommodate me and get me on my way. I had to pay extra to get a vehicle aty set up pickup time (Bear in mind it was the lowest here. Economy SUV, which they called an *upgrade").The staff didn't seem to care at all but I was displaced or that I was having to pay more. It was basically we don't care. It's your problem. You can either wait or pay now and get a vehicle now.As I said before, I will rent with other car companies in the future. I've been renting with Alamo for years and I have never had any issues like this. Here at Dollar/hertz they don't care about you.

I rented a car and I was given an electric car and they told me I only had to push buttons. Well is not that simple. Thank God for Hispanic worker who cleans the cars who gave me some instructions on how to use the car. No thanks to the woman who took my credit card and did'nt give me any instructions on how electric cars work. Don't ever rent an electric car if you go on vacation or business trip because you will end up having to charge it almost every day. You need 8 to 10 hours to charge it from 60% to 67%. Plus you need a different app depending on the charging station. You need a diffrent app for every charging station. They were supposed to give me a charger and they didn't. My rating is ??????

Smooth, fast, courteous and friendly. My drop off was so simple I was amazed. From reservation to drop off this company has made my life easier twice now. I will always be using Dollar Car Rental and will recommend them to everyone I know.

Always rented thru dollar or thrifty down here when I visit West palm Beach and always had excellent service even when they were low on stock. Today I flew down for a medical emergency for a family member and on the verge of tears I asked to cut everyone in line so I could get to the hospital as fast as I could and immediately the person at the kiosk pointed me towards the manager (was at the hertz side) and she called someone immediately to process my rental. I was out of there in 5 minutes and on my way to the hospital... I appreciate the compassionate staff for this immensely. Thank you all I wish I could have gotten names but obviously wasn't in the right state of mind.

I will never rent a car from Dollar again. Similar to many others we were given an absurd 2.5 hour wait time and told to take an Uber and go directly to the facility later on. I decided to go the following day as I had just settled my two small children for the evening. I rented a 7-passenger SUV but was given the keys to a 5-passenger small SUV. When I went to inquire about this; the gentleman said they are the same size. Anyone with eyes could have spotted the huge difference between the vehicles. He also told me if it I wanted I could try again tomorrow to see if something larger was returned. Miraculously after almost in tears they found me a larger SUV. No one should have to be toyed around with; I completely understand things happen that are out of our control. This entire ordeal could have been handled so much better. Send out a text or email letting us know of delays. I also did not appreciate the woman at the airport counter that was rudely speaking to customers waiting and disrespectfully engaging with others while my children were present. She wasn’t even the person anyone was dealing with she just randomly popped in mid conversation. It was all so poorly handled from start to finish.

Stay away, this was the worst car rental experience. We had a prepaid reservation, arrived at the counter on time and were told it would be at least a 3 hour wait for a car. They were rude and offered no apology. The manager was horrible, and said she did not care, it was not her problem, and that Dollar would do nothing to compensate for the inconvenience. I bet they would charge me if I returned a car 3+ hours late.After reading reviews this is normal for PBI Dollar and Thrifty.This is a management problem not an inventory problem. Don't accept reservations if you don't have the inventory. The employees also need customer service training.Had they been polite and offered a discount for the lost time or a voucher for food while we waited we would have been happier. Instead we took a taxi to the hotel.

If I could give zero I would. 2-3 hour wait for a car at 10:45 in the morning. They didn't care and not accommodating at all. I don't understand how a car rental service doesn't have the cars available to actually RENT at the times set. Why give the option if the car isn't going to be ready not even close to being ready when you get there. Also if it's a 2 hour wait let people know beforehand. This wasn't just us but everyone who went there and to Thrifty as well. Don't use them. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else that'll actually have a car ready to rent and not ghost car that's going to appear in 2-3 hours.UPDATE: My family and I are STILL waiting for our car. Apparently Casper the Ghost and friends are still whipping around in all the cars you have available. Anyway seeing on how I can't respond to you're message I'll update it here. You say you're "sorry" and that you're "striving to improve" and here I am still 2+ hours without a car. Also I looked at other reviews that people have posted on here and this has been a problem for the past 3 months. So no, you have not "strived to improve" because if you did then people wouldn't have had this nightmare of a problem for the past 3 months or longer. Also I've been to other Dollar Rental places and they have been fine. But this one is an absolute nightmare. Something needs to change. Either tell Casper and Friends to have the cars available when they are SUPPOSED to because what is the point in setting a time frame to pick up the car if that doesn't even matter. Or I guess the other option would be to hire new management that is timely, cares about the customers, and isn't going to let Casper the Ghost and friends play with the cars.

ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY EVER!! Made reservations several days in advance as I was traveling with my 4 mo old infant. When I arrived I was greeted by one of the rudest humans I have ever interacted with (Sara) who informed me they did not have any vehicles and it would be severalHours before they had one. I was advised to check with other companies. I then located a vehicle with another company and I then returned to let (Sara) know she could cancel my reservation and I then requested a refund since they charged my card at the time of reservation, at this point Sara began to yell at me stating she was incapable of performing such request. I then asked to speak with a manager but was informed they did not have any managers on site and she would not provide the contact information to get in touch with one. I am unsure of why any company would run a business in this manner nor do I understand why they would hire such awful human beings to be the face of their company in direct contact with their customers. Not only will we NEVER do business with this company but we will also be terminating our corporate contracts with them IMMEDIATELY! We STRONGLY discourage anyone from booking with this company in the future. If we could score them negative stars we would.

OMG! This place is horrible! I had a reservation, waited for a vehicle and then they ended up giving the vehicle to someone else who came after me; sorry doesn’t cut it. Now am here waiting for a vehicle that just came in. As soon as I open the car door, I was about to have an asthma attack from the extensive cigarette smoke. They don’t clean or air these vehicles out. I swear if it triggered my attach, I would’ve sued them. This is ridiculous. I have been here over an hour waiting while everyone else got a vehicle and left. Now they tell me I have to wait long for a vehicle. They need to be locked down and revamp. Never renting from them again. If I could give zero stars, I would.

I rented a ford focus for 1 day. It was ok for what I needed. I returned the car the next day and spoke with the Guy checking me in and ask, “is everything good?”. He acknowledged and said your all set and sent me a receipt for the 89$ I owed. I left pleased with the transaction. Unbeknownst to me some time later I received another bill fir 400$ for an “outside wash”. When I discovered this I contacted dollar (which wasn’t easy) and they told me I had to go to the place where I rented the car. Fortunately I wasn’t traveling in and was now back home in a different state. I went and spoke with the manager who argued it was because I smoked in the car. I nor anyone in my family smoke. She called in the service guy who mumbled and said the car smelled like smoke. He by the way reeked of body odor and cigarettes. I pointed out this and that their findings are completely subjective. She said I’d had dispute this before the car went back out. The car turn around scare from hours to a day. I called my credit card company and they requested the original receipt (which I sent) and then the original contract ( which I sadly hadn’t kept), and the the information on how the car was cleaned. Dollar stated none of these documents were available to me any longer. In the end I was stuck with the 400$. Buyer beware. Make sure you get in writing the car you return is clean and has no issues. I will be reporting any car I rent from anyone that it smells like smoke when I pick it up- it’s all subjective anyway.

Customer service is non existence. Is not the first time I’ve rented here but this time is the worst. Been in line for more than 1 hour, there is only one worker, there are no car available need to wait for more than an hour for the car plus the 1+ hour I’ve been waiting.
