Waited 10 minutes in Payless line inside the Budget building before they let me know that I had to join the Budget line. Ugh only two people serving at the counter and a long line. Waited in that line for 40 minutes. But when I was finally service the gentleman was very helpful and apologized for the long wait. Everything else went just fine with the rental. The car rental industry will have to use technology to catch up with the rest of the world. They can start by ditching those daisy wheel printers.

There is no desk or sign at West Palm Beach airport saying to take the shuttle to the car rental location, and most rental agencies have a desk at PBI. Then you are supposed somehow know to take the Budget van, which has no markings for Payless Car Rental. Once arriving the wait to sign for your pre-paid car is over ONE HOUR. The first car we were finally given started shaking violently over 30 mph, and when we returned to exchange it we were told to get in the one hour line again! Obviously we refused.

Initially, my experience was great. The person who helped at with my reservation was very nice and helpful. The next morning when we left to start our trip we noticed the air pressure in one tire of the vehicle was low. This continued the entire trip. We had to stop several times to put air in the tire. This made driving very nervous and potentially dangerous. Upon returning the vehicle I was informed that since I booked through a 3rd party there was nothing anyone at the drop off location could do. They advised me to call customer service. I did and was informed to call back the next day at 10am when customer service opens. I did and then was advised that there was no record of my complaint. I am extremely disappointed and suggest that you don’t use Payless! Even after putting air in the pressure would drop.

Called twice for a question on a fee that was charged . Both times Johnny hung up on me because he didn’t feel like helping me with my question . This place is a joke

They charged an additional deposit that was never mentioned by anyone and after i was told it would fall off they charged the actual rate again and now i have 2 charges and the never mentioned deposit… find a real rental company , not this place

This place is an absolute joke! I would not recommend them to anybody! We reserved an SUV over a month ahead of time got down there got our piece of junk that was dirty, rented 2 car seats that were never cleaned, oh and then they said it was an extra $350 from what we booked it for. Don’t even get me started on the help if you can call them that behind the desk! Then 3 months later I get a bill in the mail saying we now owed $255 for calibration cost! Needless to say they won’t get another dime from me!!! Don’t waste your money on this place! Far better car rentals out there!!

I rented a car 2 months in advance and I prepaid for the car. The reservation was for 5pm. Due to flight issues I was a little a late (6pm) getting to the rental car place. When I got to the counter the employee was talking on his personal phone and did not acknowledge me for nearly 10 minutes. When he finally did he was very rude. When he looked up my reservation he told me they had canceled it because I was late picking it up. I advised I was on a plane and could not call. He stated it did not matter, they have the right to cancel at anytime. He refused to help me or offer me another option and told me to call Expedia (where initially rented through) for a refund.

This experience was absolutely horrendous! We arrived at the car rental and waited over 2hrs even though my rental was previously booked online and confirmed. The agents working that day were completely unprepared for the amount of rental customers that arrived and in many cases the cars reserved were not on sight. This was a very unacceptable way to conduct business and I will never use this company again!

Do not rent from Payless in West Palm Beach International. They are hopelessly understaffed and covered by Budget who has no idea what to do with a Payless customer,

Reserved a car rental while speaking with a rep who I asked if I needed a CC to rent and she told me that I could do so without one. After my flight lands I head over to the location where I'm now being told that they need a CC. So I call customer service to find out what the policy is and I'm told again that I can rent the car as long as I put down a $200 deposit which is fine. the employee who works reservations at the physical office hears my conversion with customer service and STILL denies me . Recommended me to go to a rental location down the road which was already closed and told "you shouldve just have a CC and this wouldn't happen to you" Horrible service in location to the point the customer service people had to call the office to talk to the employee who was refusing to help.

I should have known this was going to be stressful when they didn’t have any small cars and gave m an SUV. The gate to return the vehicle was closed at 4am. And no one answered the phone. Another customer did have a rude person on the line and told her to take vehicle to Avis. Took another 40mins to find Avis. We were able to just make a flight that we arrived 2 1/2 hours early so we could return the car. WOW never again.

What a mixed bag. Inconsistent dealings with each rep. Policies unknown. Most of all, NO CUSTOMER SERIVE AFTER HOURS! *Totally unavailable by phone and problem solving minimal to non existent. Options on website do not address many issues. BUT THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AND PENALIZE YOU FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SOLVE IT BECAUSE OF THEIR INEPTITUDE. I Could never recommend to anyone I care about. Very poor communication with foreign reps. Language barriers. *WARNING. I’ll be writing this everywhere I can to spare folks the trouble. I’d love a call from a superior to discuss. But not offered that option. If one rep tell you one thing. DO NOT COUNT ON IT.
