I had flown down to Miami to go and buy myself a clean rust free car as I am from Indiana and cars like to rust there. The car I had flown in to get had rear tires which were bad on it. It's a bit of an odd import car and as a result uses oddball sized tires. This was a Sunday and not many people were open and those that were open didn't have the tire size I wanted. I called around and after calling Ely's tires they confirmed they had the tire size I wanted. I went in and pulled into their lot, after talking to their worker I confirmed they had the tire size I wanted and then after walking to the back presented me with 2 mismatched tires which after a brief inspection appeared to have plenty of tread. They were $85 a piece which was a bit overpriced but I was willing to pay it especially since they were the only ones that had the tires I wanted. For some reason they were also coated in loads of tire shine or some sort of degreaser too. Install was pretty quick and I was back on the road in about 30 minutes. Once I got on the highway I could tell that something was wrong with these tires as they were vibrating like crazy. I assumed they just hadn't bothered to balance them. Anyways less than 2 hours after leaving their shop one of the tires they sold me exploded on the highway while I was doing 70 mph. I almost lost control of the car but luckily managed to get it to the side of the road. I got the spare on and managed to limp it to the nearest tire shop which happened to be a Walmart. After showing the blown tire to the shop tech there he took a look at the date codes in the tires Elys had sold me and told me they were from 2004 and 2005. Also they had pretty crazy amount of hidden dry rot which explains why the tire was covered in degreaser/tire shine as it hid a lot of the rot. So long story short Elys tires sold me overpriced almost 20 year old tires with dry rot that that didn't even last 100 miles. This company is run by a bunch of crooks that have no regard for the safety or well being of their customers and will actively try to screw you over.

I brought my wheels off my other car and brought my own tires to get changed out. I caught the owners leaning on my car and told him not to. after I paid and got my service complete, he told me not to come back.

Absolutely love this tire shop, been coming for close to two years and have not once had any issues. Their prices are cheap and their tires are always in great condition, the techs that work there are always super nice and seem to like their jobs a lot, and also do a great job. Definitely recommend.

As other Yelpers have said, not the friendliest crew up front and they do have nazi like attitudes with the way people pull in and park. I'm all for keeping an organized lot, especially when you're on a busy street and deal with a lot of cars, but there should a basic level of customer service, common sense, and manners here. They have good pricing on their eBay store and will (supposedly or if you're up to a bout of some mid-day negotiations) honor the same price in person (even though they're saving 10% in eBay fees by you buying in person, you still get the feeling they act like they are doing you the favor). So, I came in for a motorcycle tire which I had called less than 15 mins before to confirm they had it in stock. A man with a very thick accent places me on hold to go check. Confirmed he had one left so I told him I was on my way and got over there quite quickly (my office is literally, down the street). Arrived and (yes, I got mildly scolded by a couple of bouncer-like tire monkeys and was escorted around the lot like I was the first bike they've ever seen and didn't know where I should park) wait for them to finish up a bike that was already there for a while (as per owner of bike, but gentleman I spoke to with the heavy accent said the bike lift was available). Anyway, about 30 mins later they get my bike on the lift, remove the wheel & tire only to be told they just sold the last one of the one I called about. The guy that had been there over an hour before me had purchased it... So, what did the the guy check? Could he not look up and see the lift was taken on their huge cctv screen? Who knows. I already had the old tire picked up (I know, silly me trying to be efficient) while I was waiting and was told it would take a couple of days to get the one sold from under me. Since I was in a bind, I selected another size and then had to haggle over them honoring the price I had been quoted on the phone because that guy wasn't there (note that the tire I ended up with is a less expensive tire but still had to haggle back and forth for the installed/ quoted price of the other one). I showed him the eBay price and he said he'd honor it but has to charge me more for install (even though they wasted over 2 hours of my time for something they said would take 30 mins., sold the tire I called ahead to reserve, didn't communicate nor look for the tire prior to disassembling my bike's rear end, AND come to find out that I had to return to waste another hour the next day because they didn't balance my tire and it felt like the rear end was dancing to its own beat on the highway... Not a fun feeling at high speeds on a motorcycle). Even after all that, manager was still haggling with me over $20, then makes me wait another 10+ mins to pay after my bike was done. smh. Although the tire wasn't properly balanced initially, the bike/ wheel tech took great care on my bike and was very friendly and courtesy (they should put him up front to deal with customers and the etiquette school drop outs in the back) and he's the only reason they receive two stars. My search for a good tire and/or motorcycle shop continues. Sigh.

I came in to get an alignment after doing a complete new suspension on my car. Right off the bat when I said I needed an alignment the guy who was in charge of doing it (not the owner) was moaning and grunting like there was a pipe stuck up his a**. I decided to give the guy the benefit of the doubt since the place seemed trust worthy. My car was taken to the back of the shop. I wasn't allowed to go to the back to see the job being done. My car was brought back to the front and my alignment was still not done correctly. It kept pulling to the left. I heard metal clanking now which wasn't something I was hearing after I finished getting the suspension done. My tires were not aligned and then I had knew issues that were super dangerous to any driver. The new issue was that because of the poor quality alignment, my right front tire would lock up since it was not left aligned. This is extremely dangerous because I'm smart enough to the see the issue but imagine if it was a poor job done like that to an elderly person? If anyone pays for a service, we expect to the get it taken care of and not handled by a piece of s*** who immediately gave off the impression that hated his job. PLEASE HIRE BETTER PEOPLE THAT DO NOT ENDANGER YOUR CUSTOMERS. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR ALIGNMENT. The guy who does the alignments, busted teeth and looks lazy, dont give your car to him. Quickest $80 spent to mess up my car after installing new suspension and best way to become a danger on the road to myself and others.

Brought my own tires that I ordered online to let them put them on. Their tires especially the used ones are really overpriced.

Worst tire shop I've ever been to! If I could give them negative 50 stars I would! I came in & told them that I thought I had a nail in one of my tires. One of workers claimed to check my tire pressure & put air in my tires & charged me $3. I asked if he could jack up my car & check to see if there was a leak somewhere or a nail.. he said "we don't do that here." When I turned on my car, I noticed that the tire pressure light was still on. I asked again if he could jack up my car to check for a nail, he then asked me "do you have money to pay for me to use the jack"? I said of course! That's why I'm here! After that, I said nevermind, I'll go to a real tire stop & I left. HORRIBLE SERVICE, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL & DEMEANING! I had my son in the car with me & these people cared zero about our safety driving around with a possible faulty tire(s).
