I walked only a part of the bike trail, many plants to see and some wildlife. It was free to go, entrance looks kind of hidden so we had to figure out how to get in. No one was at the park Monday afternoon. I'm still recovering from an injury so I couldn't make it all the way, so I took a left when I was at cross seminol trail to head back and that's when I saw it, all but the head of a huge florida panther, maybe 100 ft away from me, leaping to cross the dirt road, silent as ever. It was golden orange with tuff of white fur on its tail. Excitement struck me, then terror. I had 2 huskies with me and my husband so we tried to walk quickly and kept our girls very close. We talked loudly in hopes of perhaps scaring it.I was able to see borrowing owls, baby armadillos, a baby gator, and some neat fungi, but I was NOT prepared to see a huge panther. There's been rangers working for 10+ years that have NEVER seen one so I thought never in my mind would I get to see one. Made me rethink my gear for next time. The park itself has a few rocky areas that feels like there should've had water or had water at some point. It would've been marvelous if there was more natural water but what can you do. The trail is still great and very nice (omitting the end until I became low key terrified), highly recommend!

This is now an 11 mile trail through a variety of terrain. It's not technical, but 11 miles is a lot on a mountain bike. There are bail outs, so if you're tired after five miles, there's a doubletrack to take you back to the start. Depending on your karma and time of day, you might encounter deer, turkeys, turtles, or snakes along the way. The Suwannee River can flood the entire trail, but it's the last trail to succumb to high water.

Gar Pond Trail is the least known trail amongst the surrounding trails in White Springs (FL). It is mainly a flat trail great for biking, hiking, fishing and wildlife viewing. Most of the Gar Pond biking trail are single tracks. Gar Pond is estimated to be a 4.75 mile trail respectively, but that all depends on which trails ends you ride into as it covers more acreage. There are sections of the trail that are scenic. Some of the biking trails are well marked, and some are not. So one wrong turn and you will find yourself riding and riding for miles. There is not much continuity from one trail end to another in some area. I feel that first time riders or hikers may find themselves lost in these trails. The main lure of this trail is Jacob's Crossing, a wooden bridge that crosses about, which is cool to ride on and cross. Additionally, Gar Pond Trail is a trail used for an event called IDIDARIDE, a 50 mile off-road challenge ride that occurs annually. The Gar Pond Trails is calculated to be a 6 miles for the event. Other than that, if you like light riding or hiking and are into new trail exploration, then this is a nice trail to venture to. Happy trails to you.

Many nice trails, well-maintained, and through a diverse set of environments. The sink holes and "canyons" are amazing. Beautiful Florida scenery.

Lots of good single track, easy enough for most bikers. Nothing difficult or technical, but still fun and fast at parts.
