Nick and his crew have stood by me for ten years. Always knowledgeable and friendly, I actually enjoy going there to say hello when I get my pool supplies. This team goes above and beyond; I reached out to owner Nick when I was sitting in the hospital for a friend. He immediately helped me out and was so kind. I have been using their services to check our pool water a couple of months, but now I had a problem on my chlorinator so we schedule an appointment. Technician Travis arrived on time, explained us the problem and gave a few instructions how to keep our maintenance.It was a good job, thank you :)

NIGHTMARE!! STORE LOCATION #185 - AVOID AT ALL COST!My pool here in Windermere, FL has NOT been cleaned for almost a month now! After multiple weeks and multiple phone calls and excuses saying "We don't know what happen. This time someone will come" ...Im finally giving up.If you have to beg a pool company to clean your pool for a month (charging you full price meanwhile), you better do it yourself.How do you stay in business??

Pinch a penny has been just awesome servicing my pool and helping me when I have been away. The people are exceptional and very accommodating and will deal with any curve that may come along. I would strongly recommend them to anyone!!!!!

My husband and I love the Pinch a Penny at Summerport and have been customers since the beginning of 2019. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly, and take the time to answer my questions. The owner, Nick, went the extra mile to make sure we understood how to use the pool vacuum we bought from the store. I also love that they help us deal with warranty claims when needed (from the original pool parts that they didn’t even install). They are straight shooters and tell you which parts and chemicals are best for your needs. Overall, a big two thumbs up.

We have used the service of Pinch a Penny for over 5 years, like most relationships it has had its ups and downs but what we have experienced over the last 10 days is unacceptable and honestly the worst display of customer service I have seen in the Windermere area and trust me we have some businesses with poor customer service like Gators, McDonalds, little Greek etc.Pinch a Penny Windermere does not care about you because honestly they just have too much business and don’t care. They cannot keep employees which is another sign of poor ownership.My suggestion to you if you are looking for someone to clean your pool, find a small outfit so when you need service you talk directly to the person cleaning your pool. They will care about you because you put food on their table. Pinch a Penny is going to continue to upcharge you in their store front and provide poor service, but the worst part is try to get someone to actually take care of your problem, good luck!!!If you are asking me, I will simply say Pinch a Penny is the last place you want to get pool cleaning service from.You might as well just take care of your pool yourself and support a local charity with the money you will save.

Response to Owner Nick Higgins - Thank you for responding. While you want to point out facts (not disputing anything you are stating, just including more information) please let me inform readers that I contacted you on June 29th and your response to my Google Review is the first time you have responded to me, as the local business owner. So while I did have communication with your staff, as you stated in your response, your actual response time was 12 days. I will also add that you are 100% accurate that I did not approve for a new tablet dispenser because I cancelled my service with you on July 8th and the date I was quoted for installation would have been July 14th (two weeks to install and stated would have corrected my issue). Again, your statement about my salt chorine system is close to being accurate it was actually 5 years ago, and year 1 was rough, bumpy and at times very close to me cancelling but eventually with the good service of one of your employees Josiah, who maintained my pool for year 3 & 4 (NO PROBLEMS AT ALL WITH POOL OR ANY SYSTEMS), we returned to poor service again in year number 5 with excuses about staffing, or it is my pool needing new equipment, etc. So again to make sure that everyone knows I am not disputing what you are saying just adding more information, you are correct that you installed a new Filter (thank you - I was charged promptly and you were paid promptly) but you left out that you did not return and all the Algae that you all failed to scrub off the sides (was brushed off - not by Pinch a Penny) collected in the brand new Filter and could have been cleaned to allow the pool to properly filter therefore resolving the issue. So I will take your word Mr. Higgins that you have 600 satisfied customers in the Windermere area (I can also do the math and know that my simple little pool means nothing, as I stated in my previous review of your business), but for any reason if any of your 600 "satisfied" customers need to change please feel free to respond and I can provide you with the name of the gentleman who has my pool returned to good operating condition. Funny thing is he only spent 45 minutes and actually cleaned it properly. Again, I do hope that all "600 satisfied" customers or yours enjoyed their pool on the 4th of July, because my family did not and we asked for your help Mr. Higgins on June 29th, 5 days before the Holiday. I am so glad you finally responded today July 11th!

I have been a customer of Nick’s since 2014, and followed him from location to location, through the years. As a do it yourself pool owner Nick, Darren and Janet were/are great. They have come to my rescue many times as I have clogged up my plumbing due to my bamboo leaves.In May of 2022 I decided to have them clean my pool weekly, to elevate some of my burden. CJ was assigned to clean my pool. One of the duties stated was brushing the pool walls. In 6 visits that was never done. I spoke with a store employee, the same one on three different occasions over five weeks, and was told it would be addressed with CJ. I let them know the pool is covered by camera and I could see what was being done.Today (4/8/2022) CJ ‘s report didn’t mention any chemicals added to the pool as it has in the past. Checking the camera, one gallon of acid, a bag of salt and a chlorine tablet were added.The pool was not brushed, the skimmer basket not emptied and the salt was dumped in the shallow end of the pool. If the pool service isn’t doing a better job than I was, what’s the point?Due to CJ’s poor job performance, I have decided to leave Pinch-A-Penny. Because of CJ, I found a competitor that will save me $600 a year, for the same service.

Started off a little rocky with a scheduling misunderstanding but the staff went way above and beyond to help with our concerns. I think they were out a total of 8 times to test the water and spots in our plaster. A determined group who I feel deserve your business. They earned ours.
