Exceptional Cleanliness and Maintenance Standards at Publix!
I was really impressed to learn something today that made me appreciate Publix even more. While visiting this Windermere store near my home, I noticed a section was being blocked off and equipment was moved outside. Curious, I asked the manager—and what he shared truly reflects Publix’s high standards.
He explained that every six months, across all Publix locations, they conduct a deep cleaning of their carts, baskets, equipment, and guard rails. Everything is taken out, thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and even repaired if needed. This is done by a third-party contractor, ensuring it’s professionally handled and nothing is missed.
I found this incredibly responsible and commendable. It’s clear Publix takes hygiene, safety, and customer experience very seriously & not just on the surface, but behind the scenes as well. Kudos to Publix for maintaining such great standards and being so transparent about it!

Aidan the young manager with glasses is incompetent.
Today we waited at self-checkout long enough for me to finish half my pub sub because we needed an ID verification. I waved the manager down and he said that someone else would help even though he was standing doing NOTHING at a bag station.
The first time we met him we bought chicken drumsticks that were “Buy One Get One Free”. One of them did not have a barcode so we had to wait 5 - 10 minutes for him to print out a sticker.
