The facility needs a lot of TLC. Gym equipment is as expected, but the bball gym needs some work, and the windows should probably be covered imo because the grounds don't seem well taken care of. I know this Y is older, but it's not like they've lowered their prices due to lack of maintenance.

One of my top 5 YMCA's in the country. Nice clean with useful floor plan. They don't have a couple of my favorite equipment but overall it's pretty good

They have the worst refs in the world ? you will get technicals for no reason and they are super unfair against kids from different YMCAs I would not play here or go here.

I really like the energy of Roper YMCA Family Center. The people are very nice and simply concentrated on their work out.

I may be spoiled from the Dr Phillips location, but this gym/family center definitely could use some TLC. They seem to have popular children's programs. As far as equipment, they are incredibly limited. However, within the past year, they did add more kettlebells and TRX straps. Recently, it seems very limited to find hand sanitizer in the weight area. There is carpet in the weight area as well that gives this location a very dated feel. They definitely have a large basketball court that is usually available for open play during the day after the limited classes they offer. The women's washroom is also dated with old sink faucets that could use replacing and paper towels to dry your hands. (They do have hand dryers, but they are old too). They are also (currently) closed on Sundays as they become a church.

I’m a new member. I’m enjoying the classes and weight room. Really nice, clean facilities and a friendly staff.

The restrictive hours on the weekends is motivating us to look for another gym. The Dr. Phillips Y is MUCH nicer and doesn't restrict the hours as badly but they are a farther drive. It's too bad this Y can't get it's act together/get the funding it needs. We pay more to be at the Y because of the family atmosphere but at this point...we have to start searching elsewhere...too bad.

Great location, but not so great hours of operation. The pool is closed at the times that would work best for Florida Summer weather. Closing the pool daily from 12:30pm to 3:30pm and then opening it up just in time for Florida's daily afternoon thunderstorms, just to have everyone pulled out of the pool for lightning safety makes our family membership useless to us. Also, closing early on Saturdays and being closed all day Sundays removes weekend use as well. I was told we can go to another location to swim, but that is quite inconvenient. Also, the pool area lacks adequate shade and seating.
