Two weeks in a row I tried to shop here. It's a huge store located in a ghost mall. Lots of selection. But, they had no air conditioning. It was incredibly hot. There was no way I could stay and shop. I went back a week later, and they still had not fixed the air. I do not understand how any person in management would think it was acceptable for the customers' health, much less the employees who had to work in it. The women's restroom was dirty and in need of repair. Very disappointing.

It so hot and sticky in this store. Going in to try on clothes is a chore. It has a smell because of the a/c possibly not functioning as it should, and it's been like this for months.

Felt sorry for lady checking me out. Felt like 89 degrees in there. Store in women’s department was so unorganized. AC has been out for 5 months, I use to shop at Belk at a very nice organized Texas store. I will not be back due to the heat and could not find any reasonable priced women’s clothing.. This store is managed terrible.

Apparently they don’t value their customer base . This place has no air conditioning they might have clothes but when you’re sweating the whole time . It literally takes the fun right out of it. You can’t run a business like this it reminds of a restaurant where they are fixing your sandwich and the whole time the guy is sweating on the sandwich. Will I be back ? No . Now if someone comes up to me and says Belks finally fixed their air conditioning after 6 months then maybe I will but I can sweat working on my yard and have 10 times the satisfaction from it .

It was hot in there. I still shop . I went to check out, and they only had one cashier working . The rest were down. Long line, i waited 30 minutes, then I decided to leave . I will never go back.

7/8/2025 Just returned from Winter Haven Belk and will NOT be going back until the darn AC is repaired. It has been out since the end of 2024. Started with the Woman's side being out and now the entire store is a hot house. Pretty sure they are losing business daily.

Great store with extremely helpful and friendly employees! BUT the air conditioning is currently not working, so unless you bring a fan or have a high tolerance for heat, you may want to wait until it's repaired!

Belk Winterhaven: Come for the Clothes, Stay for the Heatstroke
Walking into Belk in Florida should come with a waiver: Enter at your own risk — extreme heat may cause sweating, dizziness, and regret. The air conditioning? Nonexistent. It’s as if Belk decided to cut costs by turning the entire store into a giant sauna. I came to shop, not to train for a survival reality show.
The employees look like they’re one melted popsicle away from quitting on the spot. Customers are wandering around like they’re lost in the desert, praying for a breeze that never comes. Want to try on clothes? Only if you enjoy peeling them off your sticky skin in a fitting room hotter than the surface of the sun.
Seriously, Belk — this is Florida, not the Sahara. Maybe spend a little less time rearranging clearance racks and a little more time fixing the A/C. Until then, I’ll happily shop somewhere that doesn’t require hydration breaks between departments.

Staff are always incredibly kind and pleasant, but AC was out in store. It was incredibly hot and muggy. Its always warm in there, but this was unbearable. I felt very bad for the employees.
