DME Services of North Florida provides FAA Oral and Practical Testing for Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics. It is located in a spacious, refurbished WWII vintage hangar on the South Ramp of the Winter Haven Municipal Airport, featuring air-conditioned testing areas. Practical testing uses helicopters and airplanes and is administered by an experienced DME, a mechanic and pilot of more than 30 years. The facility is designed to minimize an applicant's time, cost, and frustration. Reviews consistently describe the DME and staff as extremely humble, genuine, down-to-earth, professional, fair, and very patient. They are wonderful people who greet applicants with kindness, treat them like family, and make them feel at home, helping to calm nervousness and anxiety. They provide great advice, motivation, and a relaxing testing environment with a calm tone and demeanor. The evaluation is real and fair, giving applicants a fair shot while guiding and encouraging them. The shop is awesome and meets all testing needs. Great experience and would recommend them to anyone, professional, fair, and very patient. If you're thinking about somewhere to do your O&P's make Steve Alcorn your first choice. Just have to call and schedule with them, they will work with you. Good luck ?
