Chili's is the quintessential bar and grill. With its emphasis on alcoholic concoctions, appetizers and large entrées in a noisy setting, it doesn't offer too much more than what you'd expect. It's a safe bet to stick with starters: hot and fresh tortilla chips and salsa, fire-grilled corn guacamole, and the crispy onion and jalapeño stack. Among entrées, try the fajita trio with steak, shrimp and chicken; the California club sandwich on wheat Texas toast; or the slow-cooked beef chili. Chili's also has good salads (Cobb salad with avocado ranch) and tasty burgers --- the Big Mouth Bites, sliders with bacon and cheese, are even better than their full-size counterparts. For those watching their weight, the chain's lighter choice mains are above average, as in a habanero-orange glazed sweet and spicy chicken.
