There really wasn't much to see.

We were looking for something to do to kill some time before meeting family and decided to take the stroll through the riverquarium. We were greeted kindly at 415pm and told it was fine to walk through although they close doors at 5. We were about 3/4 way through when young staff members began circling us and letting us know they were ready to go. 10 min til, 5 min til, and again at 5pm. Kind to let us know but also annoying to be rushed. Some tanks were mislabeled and some were empty. It was beautiful and educational and peaceful in the end. Thanks yall.

Stopped here to get a small break from driving. Needs TLC from the community/state.

It's small but nice...not exceptional, but compared to major aquariums, at $8.50/adult admission, it wasn't bad. We cleared it in under an hour without rushing. If you go, there are a couple outdoor exhibits you might miss if you don't look for them. There were a couple small tortoises and a little area with a few birds near those. It's not a large, big city aquarium...it's a small but nice if you keep it in perspective.

Wanted to have my twins party here but whoever I’m speaking to named Jackie is so unwelcoming and doesn’t even try to respond promptly to help out. She gave me a time slot and said nothing was available for that day. I said that didn’t work I guess it’s not meant to be and instead of trying to see another date or let me know anything else they had she only said “bummer maybe next year” and stopped replying. I then asked her about two other dates when she should’ve just sent what’s available and she didn’t reply until I messaged three more times. She then responds with a snarky remark “even if it was available it’ll still be too late for a cake” so I decided to explain myself as to why it’s such a short notice since it seemed like I was bothering her, just letting her know a family member passed and do you think she gave a flying F? No she didn’t reply to that either. I’m good I wish the aquarium well but no thanks.

Such a great place but it breaks my heart to see how poorly the conditions of so many fish tanks were in. They were so dirty that it is a wonder any were still alive. Many attractions were broken and did not work at all. I have been coming here for many years and hate to see it going downhill so much.

It was a nice quick visit. It was a shame there was some activities for the kids and some exhibits under work.Loved seeing the gators.

Definitely worth visiting while you're in Albany. Of course, it can't compare to a big city aquarium, but there is a good variety of fish and other animals. You can see them up close and interact during the presentations. Definitely time your visit to see as many of those as you can.

I love water and animals but I do wonder about the big turtle under water that looks like he’s sleeping but not moving? The enclosure looks small for him

Awful it needs to be reported. Fish tank dirty not enough lighting. Not kept clean i felt bad for all the sea creatures. This aquarium was so very inhumane. Very disappointed so dirty it should be closed. Lack of attention. I would not advise anyone to go there. This is not a place to spend your time or money.

MUST VISIT! If you are anywhere near Albany come here. An impressive faculty on a cool riverfront park with coffee and ice cream shops around. Enjoyed watching the giant sturgeon through the floor to ceiling glass tank. (Scuba divers were cleaning it while we were there). All but a few exhibits were open and well kept. Come support this gem and keep them growing!

I remember being in awe that a small town like Albany had an aquarium when I first moved to Georgia. Sadly I was disappointed when I took someone who had never been there for a visit. There are many displays that are empty. Many of the information screens do not work. The aviary barely has any birds in it. The dirt in and on displays is shameful. I am a nature lover and love to have this could be great learning environment in our town but I think the governing bodies that control the aquarium need to do more on upkeep.
