George was phenomenal as he took his time to help us with our tax planning needs - answered all our questions and walked us through the areas of greatest interest and concern. The office was conveniently located with plenty of parking and there was no wait time upon arrival.

He asked good pointed questions of us so he would know how to assist us, and summarized our options for us - with examples - so we could understand our best way forward for our particular tax situation. I highly recommend George R. Horrigan CPA, CGMA, CDP, CVA, PFS, CFP® Horrigan & Company CPA’s - A Full Service CPA Firm. This firm truly live up to the trademark “Home of Insightful Accounting”. I have spent years working with lawyers, accountants and tax professionals who have cost me literally millions of dollars in tax fees and services. After two meetings and no less than 7 hours we were able to formulate a simple plan to appropriately manage my taxes and expenses for only $245 an hour. We may not be there yet but I fell like I can sleep better at night because I am in good spirits and more positive about the situation than anytime in the past few years. All for less than $3,000. That’s what I call “expertise delivered”.

Long overdue review…for my 2022 return. I changed CPA for my 2023 return to make sure I could give an accurate review.
If there were minus 5 stars I’d put that. Yes there is always some bad reviews however as for my review it’s justified.
1.
Call in to tell my situation and tell them I need my return complete asap due to personal reasons. Then I ask for a quote. The manager George Horrigan, himself tells me $3-400. He tells me that they will complete my return once I fill out the online portfolio. He was very short with me on the phone and this should have been my first indication that he was really purely about the money aspect of things.
I recommend to always have these CPAs send you a quote via email.
2. I fill out all of my information and email and call the company to notify them of this. Now I can’t get a hold of them. This is in June. Maybe the third time calling I get his assistant a couples week later. She’s very nice on the phone. She tells me they will get it done. Now I already had to file for an extension as this was pass the month of April. One week later I don’t hear from the company, two weeks later I don’t hear from the company. I call again to receive an update. Again I get a hold of the very nice assistant. I’m told they are still working on it. So eventually an other 2 months pass and now it’s August and still I hear nothing. I call again and they blame me telling me that they need more information. I tell the assistant I was never asked for more information. Again an other month goes by. It’s now September. The assistant keeps calling me asking me for information I’ve already given four times over. She was interrupting my day while doing this. I mean simple questions such as whether I’m filing jointly or separately. Due to my ignorance I did not realize his assistant as well as the manager was trying to keep me on the phone as long as possible as they charged per minute as if you are speaking to lawyers. Apparently this is in the small print. They never briefed me of this. Late September I call the manager to let him know that my return is long overdue and he tried to blame me again. I gave him proof that it was them not me and at this point he apologized. Little did I know what his plan was….
I don’t even own a business and they charged me $1900 at the signing table at the end of September inside of his office. His office was completely empty, looked like it was a business closing down as nobody was at the front desk. Even when I came in for the signing it took the manager 5 minutes to come and meet me as if he had better things to do. And due to my situation, which they knew, I didn’t even have time to argue the bill although I made it clear that this is 5 times what I was quoted, so I was forced to pay it. Manager’s response: “Well we had to spend a lot of time with you on the phone and even now answering your questions takes time.” I responded that actually we weren’t that long on the phone. If anything it was his Assitant that kept calling me within a day to ask questions I’ve already answered at least three times. And the three questions I asked at the table were quick questions with quick answers.
I was very frustrated as I knew this was corrupt and narcissistic. He had the audacity to lie to me in my face. This has been my worse experience dealing with any business. I do not understand how they have a 4.9 star rating.
There are better CPAs in the area.
The CPA I used for 2023 charged me $400 to do the same job plus more within a week that took the horrigan company to do in three months. Ridiculous.
This experience was so bad that I felt like this man is retiring soon anyways, and just trying to grab as many dollars as he can before he does.

All I can say is WOW! My wife and I are both in tech and I even have a degree in Finance, but spending time with George discussing tax strategy as well as small business guidance was like getting a mini MBA. He was extremely experienced in both tax and business planning and we are thrilled to have found him. Much more than just a CPA.
