Today I visited the Kroger store on Old Alabama rd in Alpharetta at 12 noon. My experience was horrific. I went to cash in my coins at CoinStar, which I do on a weekly basis. After cashing in my coins, I like to use my voucher towards my purchase at checkout. Well today, the African American female cashier with the glasses (didn’t get her name) said that I was not allowed to use my voucher at checkout. She said, “You should have told me you were using it in the beginning. I can’t use it now. You’ll have to use it next time.” I said, “so what I’m I supposed to do, leave without my purchase? Or do we have to redo the whole checkout again? Because it’s all I have”. She insisted with a condescending attitude that I would have to use it the next time. I felt as though she just didn’t want to be bothered. I asked if I should just cash it out at customer service. She said, “Yes, just cash it out!” After cashing it out at customer service. I left feeling horrified by the customer service I received. So I decided to call the store and speak to a manager. The manager on duty, Luke is who I spoke to. I informed him of my experience and asked why I wasn’t allowed to use the voucher at checkout, as I have done so many times, at so many various Krogers without a problem. He proceeded to tell me that the other Krogers were wrong and that they’re not supposed to do that. He accused every single Kroger I have ever been to as going against “Kroger policies” and that they are trained NOT to do that. I could not believe that he would purposely tell me something that was not true, in total disregard for me as a customer. I felt completely disregarded and disgusted. His attitude was also very condescending and smug. I also googled, and it’s says that all Kroger takes the coinstar voucher at checkout. He lied!!! Very poor customer service. I felt as though he was only trying to cover for the cashier’s horrible actions, and he didn’t care about customer service either. This was the worst and most hurtful experience I have ever had as loyal customer to Kroger.

Kroger is one of the biggest grocery stores in the USA and you would think their buying power would be such that they can offer much better pricing.

As a private chef it’s so disappointing going to the seafood & meat department at this particular location to ask for anything. I’m always given an excuse, it’s either the truck just came or we’re short staffed and the seafood counter isn’t set up and it’s past 10am by the same employee. I’ve been in hospitality for over 16 years and spend hundreds of dollars monthly at Kroger. Please hire him some help, or teach better customer service etiquettes. If people are spending money in your stores in this economy, it’s your job to have product readily available or people that are willing to sell it.

Bought already spoiled $7 chicken thighs from them, I tried returning it without a receipt since I had misplaced it, chicken still inside it's original packaging and all. Customer service lady questioned me and refused to process the return even for store credit as she thought I was "suspicious". She said it's because I lost my receipt I think it's more my brown skin. After much hassle I was able to return the spoiled poultry. They sell me spoiled meat and I get interrogated over a Kroger card, real good customer service.

This location has the worst customer service of any Kroger. They have a very mean woman working at customer service named Jenny that is truly miserable and terrifying and will try to intimidate and bully any customer that asks to speak to management over her horrible attitude.

It's not the worst Kroger I've ever been to, but as other reviewers have commented, their insistence on self checkouts have hurt their ability to properly keep an egress of customers. Listen, I completely understand the need for self checkouts, particularly if you're just looking to grab a couple of items.
But when self checkout is practically the only option, and you have a cart filled to the brim, it can be more hassle than it is worth.
I don't know if it's just an attempt to save on payroll (probably) or a want to push their delivery service (have never tried it), but it isn't working.
I recommend you just go to the Publix across the street. Much nicer interior, more open layout, and friendlier employees. Prices may be a bit more expensive, but it's worth the convenience and they price match to Kroger if the difference is substantial.

Self check out is all they have sometimes. I don't want to use self check out after today. I scanned a single bell pepper and before I selected 1 as the quantity an employee runs up and says "put the quantity". You have customers scanning their own groceries and then have the nerve to stand next them as if they are thieves. Publix has never made me feel this way. Publix always has a cashier to scan your groceries without asking if a lane is open.

This place is horrible. The packaged breakfast foods section had 2 different packages of sausage that had gone brown and were sitting on the shelf.
The cheese I bought had fungus on it when I got home. Worst grocery store I have seen in ages.
Badly stocked as well.

This is a way nicer Kroger than the one closest to me on Holcomb Bridge. Worth the drive.

The floral department looks awful. I have been in this location multiple times and if is always a mess. It's cluttered and I regularly see shards of broken glass over the floor. The flowers inside always look dead or dying. Even corsages look dead. How can a corsage look dead? I have never bought anything from this Kroger's floral department and doubt I will

I use the self check out to save time it stops you after EVERY scan saying item isn’t in bagging or that not every item there is scanned. defeats the point of self check out of you need an employee every other item.3 employees at that station saw me yet an idiotic AI is somehow needed to tell me i didn’t scan my apples. bring back human interaction.go to publix accepts the street it’ll save you time and grief.

I stopped shopping at Kroger completely. The kiosk scanning stoppages (which occur for no apparent reason) were burdensome to begin with. Now, kiosk delays are even lengthier due to Kroger's newly introduced video camera technology that delays the checkout process even further. Now, its just too much for me to tolerate, and I've hopped across the street to shop at Publix, even if I need to pay more. That new camera technology made the Honest John I am feel like a common criminal. On top of it .... the new store manager didn't seem to care the least bit when I complained to him. I'm done with Kroger - the few cents I save isn't worth it.
