The staff and crew were nice and respectful. They got me in and out in a timely manner. I had a good experience with AAMCO transmissions.

Brought car in for transmission code, spent $4,000 to repair it, 2 weeks later the same problem comes up again we take it back to them and now it needs a used transmission and take the parts out of the one they supposedly repair and put in a used one for $6,500 , in total coming to over $10,000 the dealer transmission cost $8,000 and my mechanic said to put it in and program it would be $10,000 why would I put a used one in for the same price as a dealer oem part, rip off don’t use them , especially if you don’t know much about cars because they will take advantage of you

I took my car for an oil change and a regular inspection. Good service and amazing people that make you feel welcome. Some minor issues that I noticed. It took them 4 hours to change engine oil. The oil change is also to the pricey side. They were not very clear on the communications and said everything checked out. You usually expect a point by point inspection check list but that wasn’t something they offer.

My boyfriend left his truck at the Athens, Georgia location and was told the work would cost between $300 and $900. Two weeks later, he spoke with Miguel and was told it needed some additional repair and it would be about $100 more. After the shop had his truck for more than four weeks, he was notified that it was ready to be picked up. The worst case scenario for how much this was going to cost was around $1000. The bill ended up being over $2000. After picking the truck up we noticed that the truck bed was moving/shifting and found that when putting the bed back on the truck, they failed to put any of the bolts that secure the bed to the frame back. Also, one of the brackets under the hood is missing. When contacting the shop, the bolts were located but they were unable to find the bracket.

It's a pity that I can't give 0 stars. The price is disgusting. They will try to charge you double the price and it is not a fact that your machine will work. Never contact them.

Love Aamco of Athens! I came in not having a clue what was going on with my Yukon. The manager Miguel & owner Robbie were knowledgeable & treated me right. They quoted me a fair price. Miguel & Jade did a superb job @ keeping me updated on my vehicle. It had to stay in the shop a little while longer than quoted but I preferred that over a mechanic doing a half a$$ job rushing it out the door & things getting complicated (that's been my experience with other shops). Thank you Aamco Transmissions for going above & beyond for me! I'll recommend your business to everyone & anyone.
PS. Beep the cat should be your mascot

This week I went to AAMCO for an inspection and diagnostic test for my Jeep Cherokee. The car is about 10 years old and has been running louder than previous years so I wanted to ensure everything was operating well before some summer road trips. I received a call saying my vehicle was running well and there were no major issues. On my way home from the shop I noticed that it was getting more and more difficult to brake the car. When I parked the car, the brake light came on with the message low brake fluid. I called the shop, explained the situation and asked if they touched the brakes because there were no issues with the brakes prior to coming to the shop. They said to bring it back and they would take a look because it was fine when they looked at it. I asked if they would tow it back to the shop since it was unsafe to drive, they refused.
After I got the car towed to the shop, the front desk staff said they would replace the brake line because it was cut. They said they were unsure if it happened at the shop or on the way home. However the auto tech who showed me the cut brake line explained it got snagged when the car was lowered back to the ground. They said it would be replaced the same day so my ride left and I waited for the repairs. About fifteen minutes later they returned and explained it may or may not be done the same day, again after my ride had left. The next day my car was repaired early, when I picked it up the staff only handed me my keys with no apology or discussion of the glaring safety concerns associated with the situation.
We are truly lucky that no one was hurt in this situation.

Honestly you don't deserve one star.. had many "repairs" done... car still driving horrible.. in debt bc of them. I took my car to Ford in Athens and fix it the first time. Close your business down.

Don’t take your car here. Take your car to the dealer 10 times out of 10. This business, along with most other repair shops, will take advantage of you and squeeze you for your money. Save thousands by going to your dealer. Dont be lazy and go here. I learned my lesson!
