The employees here are very nice and helpful, but you have to be very careful With the extra charges or they will get youThey charged me nearly $1000 above the price of the rental for a cleaning fee and refuel charges.

HORRIBLE. I've rented from this location twice to travel to the Atlanta airport. The first time, I received a different class of car than I had reserved, which wasn't a big deal except that it smelled terribly of smoke. Whatever, I cracked the windows and got the trip done. Before I left, no one walked me through the condition of the car or anything. I just left the office alone, got in the car, and drove off to the airport.I rented again from this location in August 2023 for another trip to the airport. Again, I got a different class of car than I reserved (a truck this time). Again, no one walked through the condition of the car with me. I simply walked out alone, got in, and drove off. A month later, I get an attempted $482 charge on my credit card. Same day, I receive a letter in the mail stating that the car had "glass damage", with repair costs of $198, a "calibration cost" of $255, and an administrative cost of $29. I had the truck for about two hours tops...during which nothing at all happened to any "glass". I even threw away some trash that wasn't mine, so I really left it better than I found it.You've been warned...10/30/2023 Update: Avis's baseless "repair" charge made it's may to my credit card despite my efforts to stop it. I emailed the address as instructed in the response to my original review. I'll update this review with developments as they occur.11/1/2023 Update: Expect a response like this after Avis punishes you financially for their own mismanaged location:“Thank you for contacting Avis Customer Service regarding the matter of a claim on your rental from A4H, ATHENS GA DTN. After careful review our records does indicate that the damages to the vehicle occurred on your rental. I understand that this is not the answer that you were hoping for. However, it does appear that when you return in 8/12 it was not rented back out instead it went out for repairs. Thanks for choosing Avis, we appreciate your business and hope you have a great day. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.”

My experience was pretty great with them. Besides the first car that they tried to give me. Had wire showing through on the tire. And their excuse was they didn't have time to check it. I was fixing to drive 6 hours in that vehicle. I think they need to make time to check the tires but i loved my free upgrade.

Lynn was able to get me in a car quickly and easily after my car broke down. She was very flexible all through the week and made my difficult situation much better.

Don’t let the southern belle charm fool you. These people are nasty. I gave the lady the key and she said that was it. I asked if she was sure or needed me to sign anything. She said no everything is good. I knew something was off about the situation and man I should have went with my gut feeling. My bill went from 110 to 500. They ran up all the penalties up that they could but since they didn’t have proof of anything. The customer service rep took all of the charges off. As a matter of fact that’s the best department avis has. From pick up to drop off this was my worse experience traveling. Fun fact by the time I called customer service they didn’t have a clue as to what car I left in to begin with. Avis is not the place to go for rental cars. Trust your boy!!

Returned my car on full. Was told I would get a receipt later in the day. Car was stated as returned a half hour after I dropped it off and I was charged $20 for fuel. It was past full on the gauge. Just read the reviews for this place. What a bunch of horrible people you are.Update. Avis refunded me the charge. Made me feel better about the company. But I don’t understand why they would continually allow this location to provide awful and suspect service.

Nightmare Scenario at this Budget/AvisUnfortunately I didn't see the reviews before booking. Customers BEWARE! Lynn is an aggressive egregious vindictive person. I had reserved two 12-passenger vans months ago for a very important work event. Lynn Williamson from Avis called me on 7/5/23, the day prior to picking up my vans to confirm I needed both. I said yes I needed both and she said not a problem, the rental was ready to go the following day. 7/6/23 I'm in the car ready to drive to the office (3:30pm) to pick up the vans (at 4pm) with my 2nd driver when Lynn calls me and says that neither van is there, and one van will never arrive. This reservation was made months ago.... So, I'm confused as to why there are issues. She offers me a minivan and I clarify that I'm expected to transport 24 participants for my event and can’t do that with one 12-passenger van and a 7-passenger minivan. She rudely says "You're not listening." It was a shock to have her be so rude since she was the one that messed up the reservation. She then clarified that she could give me 1 large 12 passenger van (which wasn't there yet) and 2 minivans. I asked her if she had a driver for that 3rd car, because I didn't. She said she didn’t. I asked her to hold so I could rework my plan with the new information and she hung up on me. So, I call around to work with the new information and my mother is available to help me get the 3rd car. We head to the office and we can greeted by a very terse, rude and impatient owner. We begin the rental process and I'm asking clarification questions along the way because it actually because very chaotic trying to understand what vehicles were actually on site and what were not yet there. Lynn threatens to just cancel my reservation... I was not sure how that was the solution when all I was asking were questions to make sure the new plan would work. We were working with her, and the failure to have the two 12-passenger vans on site, on time. It became apparent that she did not like my questions so started to only address my work coworker. I then redirected her by saying that I was the one that needed the information because they are my rentals and then she said : "That's it, I'm canceling the reservations." And she stormed off.It happened very quickly without any discussion or adult conversation. It escalated from a level 3 customer service issue to a level 10 with no provocation on my end. It was bonkers. So I asked her why that was necessary and she said “I’m not going to argue with you.” I said, “I’m not arguing, I’m trying to understand the situation and why this whole experience has been rude when we’ve been working with you to make sure the new plan works.” I assure you I had a level tone and professional manner… my coworker and mother are witnesses to this situation.She then says, “Please leave the office or I’m calling the cops.” I said “I’ll leave when I have the paperwork that shows the cancelation” She then tells an associate to call 9-1-1. She said “I’ll bring it to you outside.” I really wish I were joking. That’s how bonkers this situation became. Because I'm limited by characters in this review... the short story is Lynn did call the cops. An unprovoked, aggressive, egregious unnecessary move. I have been harmed by this experience and by Lynn. Budget/Avis needs to not allow this person to carry their brand name. Do not rent from this place as you might be harmed by Lynn's behavior.

If I could give it a no star I would. We had are reservation booked since February of this year 2023. Just went to go pick up our rental and was told there was no van to for us. What a bad customer service. They could’ve call us that there was no van so that we didn’t waste our time to pick it up. On top of that they didn’t even offer us any bigger suv but a smaller suv. We needed a 3 row car rental. Worst place ever and should’ve listen to those bad reviews. Will never ever rent from them again. They did had a van but was told it was out of commission. I would not recommend this place. Customer service sucks.

PLEASE don’t rent from here ! They lie and add fake charges and extra fees. They throw different prices at you when you try to bring the car back. They took $661 from me for no REASON and now my account is in the negatives. They said I drove 4200 miles when I clearly didn’t ! Then they tried to charge me $9.99 a gallon for gas if the car wasn’t on Full.

This is absolutely the worst car rental company location in the state hands down. Lynn is the store manager and she definitely takes the cake. The sweet lady working there really tried to be understanding and even tried to assist. Lynn however waited until a couple hours before my reservation time to call me (while I was at work and couldn't get to my phone) and tell me that a 12 passenger van that I reserved A MONTH AGO wasn't available. She then offered two mini vans for the one price but no kind of compensation or anything, so she expected me to gas up 2 mini vans and get 2 more drivers to drive to New Jersey and back. I will not recommend nor ever tell any one to visit this location. This was a horrendous experience!
