“I know I'm biased, but Living Hope truly lives up to it's mission to be Bible-rooted, Spirit-empowered, and culturally-engaged. I don't think there's another church in the area that does this as completely as Living Hope does.Full disclosure: I'm a member, I teach there regularly, and I'm the street preacher a recent review referred to disparagingly. To be clear, Living Hope supports my wife and me as far as community outreach is concerned - things like homeless care, working with a local shelter, coordinating with Mercy Clinic, gifts and baby registries for single moms, teaching apologetics and other subjects at the church, etc.The downtown preaching I assist with is NOT under the umbrella of my work with Living Hope. Also, that aspect of my PERSONAL ministry (i.e., Ask a Former Atheist) is conducted with fellow public evangelists ("street preachers") from several different churches. I'm the only one who is affiliated with Living Hope.That being said, I am thankful for a pastor and elders who pray for me when I venture out with gospel preaching and believe in proclaiming a message publicly, like Jesus did, of the need to turn from sin, to place trust in Christ, and to obey him (and not to be merely a "cultural Christian"). If you read and study the New Testament, this is the same message that the apostles proclaimed.There are many opportunities at Living Hope for discipleship - learning how to follow Christ more faithfully and to know and honor God in our daily lives. That's what New Testament Christianity is all about.If anyone has specific questions about something they hear me preach downtown, I am always happy to hear from you personally, but, again, that ministry is separate from my work under the auspices of Living Hope.
