2 major problems with costco I see after being a sams member for years: they don't have scan and go on their app so you have to wait in line, and none of their aisles are marked with what products are on them (they only have an aisle number). Also, their selection of products isn't any better than sams, and neither are their so so prices. Example: 5w30 house brand oil was 38.99 for 2 gallons, when walmart sells one gallon of their house brand for $18, or $36, without a membership. And their bakery/in house made food items don't look appealing. Fortunately I only paid what amounts to 20 bucks just to try them out, after I get my $40 shop card, which takes 2 weeks to get for some reason after they can instantly sign you up for a membership....

We love that we finally have a Costco in Athens. I wish every parking lot was designed as well as this one. The size of the parking spaces is large, which makes it so much easier to get in and out. The staff here are so much more pleasant than other locations that we have visited. Alway have a good experience when we visit this location.

So I signed up when they opened last year. There's some things that are great. But there are just so many glaring things that are completely unacceptable. I have started shopping at Sam's in almost all of those problems have been eliminated. I have gotten multiple Costco rotisserie chickens that were raw / severely undercooked. They then put those chickens into other products like chicken salad and the chicken caesar at the food court both of which were so bad I returned them. Many of the employees don't act respectful towards the customers not all some are wonderful but you know who you are. The store policies are also really silly. They refuse to give cash back on debit. They make you buy 12 bagels when they're packaged with for six. There's always one frantic person working at the food court. They also don't carry regular individual packages of yogurt just Greek yogurt. They don't slice any of the bread and the bread notoriously goes bad in like 3 or 4 days. But probably the biggest thing I hate is that they allow outside people to basically harass you while you're shopping AT&t being the absolute worst. Hi what phone service do you have? not yours it didn't work at my house. Well we just redid our entire network so it'll work great now. After like the third time it's really annoying and you don't want to be straight up rude to them.

Please give your employees a chair to relax a bit my dear corporate heads. Learn from Aldi, customers don't care. It's saddening to see aged employees standing 8 hours a day for a minimum wage, was there before and them feet hurt pretty bad. Costco is great, I hope y'all take care of your employees and set some standards in the industry

Things are usually pretty fast place in here.I’ve gotten groceries, tires and glasses.I made an appointment for new tires, they got me right in, and kept me updated the whole time. Took about 1.5 hours. Which wasn’t bad.I took my prescription here to get it filled, because they took my insurance and my original eye dr didn’t. I had a sweet lady help me pick out a pair, because I’m very indecisive. It took a bit to get all the paper work done and actually order them, but I was in no hurry that day.The only thing is, they are cutting down on people trying to use other peoples cards, so they will ID you if need to be. And if you don’t have the new card with a photo ID on it, they’ll ask you to go get one on your way out. Which is a quick process.

Employees are super rude treat you like you’re a toddler who can’t tie their shoes just because you ask a simple question, god forbid a first time costco customer not know how the whole system works, when we first arrived to get our cards the receipt checker rudely told us to go to the other side, practically yelled at us, we explained we were new she could have said it more nicely, the only nice employee I met was a man handing out samples he was super nice , the front desk male employee who took our pictures was super fake nice not actually nice. No one there actually values their jobs they’re all very much done with it and it shows in their attitudes. I can’t believe how terrible the customer service is here , it reminds me of that restaurant in Vegas where they’re supposed to be intentionally rude for entertainment, except this isn’t Vegas.. I want to give them a chance but frankly at the end of our membership we’re going to sams club I don’t expect to see a difference in attitudes. They don’t like their jobs, that’s not the customers fault.

It's a great place to shop for major appliances, household items, clothes, tech, etc. Buying food in such large quantities can cost you extra money in the long run if you don't have a good plan to use it. Their return policy is the best

Went to get a flat tire repaired and had a great experience. The 2 gentleman that helped us at the tire shop were super kind and helpful. $10.99 for the service. I could not be happier. Totally worth our membership. Totally recommend!

I usually have a great experience at the Athens, Ga Costco. But today, they only had 1 person checking peoples carts. A line of a dozen or more people. Next thing I see 3-4 people with stuff in hands and carts walk past the line and right on out not a word said to them. As I was walking behind them the only checker raises his voice and tells me he has to check my cart. So, I had to wait for him to come check my cart… checking the cart is not my issue. If you have a line 12 or more deep waiting then maybe you should have a 2 or 3rd cart checker!!!! Also employees of a store I spend my hard earned money at should never be raising their voices to customers, PERIOD.

Some awful employees, typical Costco otherwise. For whatever reason a good bit of the staff at this location is almost always in an irritated mood. They won’t like it if you bring a lot of items for them to scan at checkout and absolutely hate it if you ask for a box.Darius in particular is awful. He’s almost always scanning customers for something to go off about, ranting to coworkers (visibly) about customers within hearing distance, and is blatantly rude and condescending. At checkout a few days ago he was yelling at an elderly man (80+ years old) over placing his Costco ID card down at checkout. After that he overheard my wife and I ask for a box and interjected when the cashier was requesting one from a coworker, telling us “to go get one if we want” pointing out past checkout.

It's big, bright, and new. Stuffed with everything you didn't know you needed. The staff was trying too hard to sell their credit card which is a hard no for me. Even after saying no, she kept on. Like, chill lady. No! Other than that-- it's great!

A really big a spacious place. You can only buy game cards in $100 values, and the joycons are less for worse options. Sams Club is way better for buying these gift cards, as you save a few bucks. (You pay around $90 for $100 cards, $8 for $10 cards, ect)

Huge shout-outs to the associate Tiffany, and Nichole the manager. Thank you both for a great experience while returning an older item. Nichole then helped me update my membership card and we had a great conversation. Please continue to hire outstanding people.

I love the Athens Georgia Costco..When I lived in California the Costco was always packed and there wasn't any where to park.. and the gas station always had long lines but not here...
