I cannot adequately express how thankful I am for Dr. Ellis & team for offering integrative options like acupuncture and alternative medical management for his suspected IVDD - AND keeping practivcality and his quality of life top of mind. He is a very happy, alert, and active dog, so it's been challenging and heartbreaking to watch his mobility suddenly decline. This team has spent way more time and energy with us than was expected/required to get to the root cause of the problem and manage his pain on a personalized level. They've also gone above and beyond discussing options, alternative therapies and going the extra mile to manage his condition with a variety of modalities. I can't thank them enough for their patience, expertise, research, open minded and personalized approach to his care plan. You all rock! Your compassion and open minded approach is much welcomed and needed in the community and will serve you and the pets who depend on you well. Grateful to have you here and on Tasers healthcare team!

i had been taking my cats to barber creek for years and they were wonderful. i was placed with my service dog after the merger and i took her to gaines shoal for a physical. they manhandled her during the physical, which raised the eyebrows of the trainer who was with me for placement (they said they had never seen that happen at any of the vets they had ever gone to with the dogs). i very stupidly took her to get her nails trimmed there when i was on a time crunch. they very obviously forced her through it, she wouldn’t even let me touch her feet, andif you are familiar with service dogs they cannot be reactive in any capacity or they will lose their public access. she had been letting me trim her paw pads and touch her feet with absolutely no problem before this visit. i got her home and went to trim her paw pads and she wouldn’t let me get near her and was literally cowering in fear when she saw the scissors. i took her to petsmart today and even though she has been here multiple times she wouldn’t even walk through the door. i had to walk with my literal service dog to the trimming seat because she was scared and hiding behind me because of what the vet techs at gaines shoal did to her. i am extremely unimpressed with this clinic. while the only vet i can speak on is dr.williams, who was wonderful but has since moved, the vet techs are horrible and will force your pets through things just to get it done. save your pet the stress and just take them to pet smart

Gaines Shoal Animal Clinic was absolutely tremendous on the phone and during my visit with my dog Bruce Wayne. I called late on a Monday and was able to be scheduled for the next day to get my dog his exams and updated shots. The vet tech, Mila, was absolutely tremendous in the exam room and while she handled Bruce in the back. My dog was quite frightened at the vet, but she made him feel safe and welcomed within the office. She helped provide more than enough information in the exam room, and with what was needed after the appointment. Compared to visits at other vets, this visit was top tier. Thank you to the staff and crew for being so welcoming and helping keep my dog healthy!

Took us in last minute with a sick cat as a new client and treated us like VIPs. I feel so blessed to have chosen them and it was based mainly on these reviews, so you can believe what you read.

Even though it was my first visit since Shoal Creek merged with Gaines, as soon as I walked in and saw Angie's smile, I felt right at home. Vet Assistant Mila came out to greet us and was great with Jane! Dr. Rankin examined Jane and found a very small mast cell tumor on her leg--what impressive attention to detail! I really appreciate everyone's friendly and thorough care.

The entire staff makes us feel like family. Most Vets and Techs are lary of big dogs, not these folks and Dr. Rankin is amazing with both our GSD and our Siberian Husky. They understand about the working class budget and always shoot straight when it comes to the health of our fur babies. Great team ,they have been our Clinic for 17 yrs , compassionate when we had to say good bye to our older dogs and now with our new big babies. Always go the extra mile. THANK YOU for all you do??

Receptive staff and vet care! I had to book out of emergency and my primary being booked for the day. My only qualm is drop off service and then being hit with the bill. It’s adjacent to vet med hospital style, so I should’ve assumed the price. My pet was perfectly fine and taken care of, just had to pay for it iykwim

Disappointing experience there recently. To be fair the people I dealt with [Vet Tech and Front desk staff] were new to my previous experience. I have going to Gaines School Animal Hospital for over 17 years. They ...WERE... wonderful. The entire team from intake, techs and veterinarians were professionals. They were patient with our animals [3 dogs] and compassionate when difficult care was needed.Last week my daughter was the recipient of an unplanned litter of feral cats. With the heat and the mother's poor recovery we took them to Gaines School Vet.The palpable "cold tolerance" without compassion was an unwelcomed experience during a difficult time.Once in the exam room the tech (who refused to assist us in transferring the kittens and their mother) we were informed that the doctor needed blood work and x-ray sight unseen. When we informed the tech that these were feral cats we were just trying to help she said "well how much are you looking to spend?"She scurried out of the exam room. A seemingly more compassionate veterinarian finally arrived after we negotiated "300.00 care ransom".We ultimately paid 68.00 for a physical examination and apathy.A week later...without spending 700.00 in care the mother cat is thriving..nursing her kittens...and we have adoption homes for 3 of the five kittens.Looking for a new veterinarian care setting for our family.
