Some of the floors and laundry smelled like playdough. Ally from the kitchen was very disrespectful and rude. She called a bunch of kids cretins.

Great stay. Clean rooms. Convenient location. Standard Hampton Inn breakfast. Front desk staff member (Cassandra) was super friendly and welcoming.

Two co-workers were to stay at this location while in town for training. It was a major headache- communication is poor, front desk employees don't seem to care about quality customer service. There is no communication, and it showed while trying to fix their issue about the rooms.Thankfully, Homewood Suites was able to assist.I have never had a problem with Hampton Inn before, however there is a first time for everything. You would think the way things are now you would want to exceed the expectations of all guests. You would want them to go back to work, and say "we should stay there again."Not going to happen with our company, we felt as if they did not care and if we were not going to do things their way; they did not want our business. Fine, there are other good hotels in Athens!Professionally or personally, I will not be using Hampton Inn Athens.

Like most Hampton Inns, the staff here was top notch. The exercise room was rather lacking, with little more than some cardio machines and a rack of free weights and a bench. It is one of the smallest and least equipped exercise rooms I've seen at a Hampton Inn.The bed was clean and very comfortable. A few things were slightly broken in the room, but it was mostly aesthetic issues.I was pleased with my stay and would certainly return.

As a “lifetime DIAMOND member” w/Hilton, it’s the most unpleasant/unprofessional staff I’ve EVER encountered. Many months ago I booked to come in for a GA football game. Couple months later found out about cancer in my family. Obviously, w/chemo treatments, out trip was cancelled.Tried to cancel 28 days in advance and was told I couldn’t. “Policy is 30 day cancellation on game weekend.” Trust me, I was told this several times by the “robotic young lady” on the phone. She needs a class in customer service.Even w/the medical situation, THEY NEVER MOVED off of their policy.Remember, this is a game weekend, so they EASILY could have gotten rid of the room, but they chose not to help me.Long story short, I didn’t receive reimbursement for my stay.Such an embarrassment to a wonderful brand. The franchisee of this location should be ashamed. One final thought:I asked several times for the GM to contact me. SHE NEVER ATTEMPTED to call me. “Robot lady” told me “this is the policy, and we will not change..“GM will tell you the same.”Awful business model.

Nice hotel in a bad location. A lot of homeless people hang around the hotel and doesn’t feel safe. My wife and I were eating in the lobby and were approached by a homeless man on drugs looking for food. We stayed a day and left early. If you love watching homeless people hanging around this is your place. I am a diamond member and travel often, not a great experience. Projects are nearby and a possible homeless camp. Staff is nice and rooms look good. Don’t go with kids or if you have a dog that requires walking as it feels uncomfortable all times of day. Homeless beg for money up front on the corner every day. Asked for a full refund on points used didn’t get back all of them as we stayed one night even though we had to travel 40 minutes to the next closest Hampton Inn away from Athens in Madison.Safety: Not safe due to nearby homeless people on drugs.Walkability: Not walkable unless you want to interact with homeless people on drugs.

As a longtime Diamond member who has stayed hundreds of nights at Hilton properties, I have never experienced rudeness and complete disregard for guest service as I did at this property. Cassandra (the manager) treated us inappropriately and without any adherence to Hilton brand standards for guest satisfaction. I was totally shocked by her actions and words, and will book my frequent travel to Athens at Marriott properties for the next several years. Fortunately, Hilton Honors has assured me that that will file a complaint about her and her staff and take care of me as a valued and loyal guest. As a side note, I also injured my foot on this hazard within the room. My attorney will be in touch with the owner of this property to address negligence and ramifications.

I enjoyed staying here. I typically stay at the Garden inn during our yearly training. But the Hampton inn was actually very comfortable and the staff amazing. Only drawback is the speed of their renovations. Still a ways to go. The outside needs tended to also. There are pallets and dumpster in guest parking.

While this was the second stay here within a month during their renovation, this stay was a whole lot worse than the first. The room smelled of paint/acetone far worse than the 1st stay a few weeks earlier, the TV had only 5 channels at best, the refrigerator leaked all over the floor, the shower head leaked and sprayed back behind and all over the ceiling and the breakfast in the morning was about half the selection as the previous stay. Perhaps the breakfast shortage was due to not having enough food for guests and all the construction workers from the renovation. Both stays were on the 5th floor in rooms that where said to be finished and renovated. The TV issue was said to be due to renovated rooms not being compatible with the old system although the previous renovated room didn’t have issues with having more than 5 channels. The refrigerator and shower head were fixed the following day when reported however the room was left a mess and never got serviced. The wet towel from the floor was left on the bed amongst the sheets & blankets. Luckily my son was staying in his dorm the second night and that bed was no longer needed. I’d definitely recommend passing on this place until after renovations are completed if you can. Unfortunately for UGA orientation and move in days it was slim pickings on hotels.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They were under renovation at the time so there was some construction noise, but it was done by the evening time. Location isn't great, but not terrible. Breakfast was good and hot. TV had very limited channels, but Wifi worked great.

Unfortunately unbeknownst to me during booking, the hotel was undergoing renovations (July 2023). The front desk staff was cordial, but the noise and construction traffic in hotel and parking lot made for a less than comfortable stay. Additionally, a number of homeless folks used the entrance of the lot to stand with signs, and construction connex boxes that surround the property as makeshift shelters/toilets.

Room floor was very dirty, top of a/c unit covered in dirt pieces of tape. Caulk spots all over bathroom floor. The new shower glass doors leaked a lot on to the floor. We checked in on Thursday fri morning went to front desk, the clerk said oh have house keeping mgr right here. She said I been off for few days!! What kind of excuse is that? Oh take care of that, well checked out sun morning early cause couldn't wait to leave. The jack hammering was beyond terrible. Oh asked a housekeeper on r floor about the room, all I got was u speak Spanish u speak Spanish. Done with company and hotel.
