Deli order is never ready at the time it says it is, it's always atleast 10 minutes late and usually not at the pickup counter so I have to wait even longer in line to ask for the order

I have never left a review before for a place, so that tells you how bad my experience was with one of the workers. Kathryn at the deli, was the rudest worker I have ever encountered. When I walked up she said "what do you want?" Every little item I asked for was a huge inconvenience for her and she would shake her head and sigh. When I asked for ranch at the end, she told me I should have told her at the beginning and I wasn't supposed to ask for it then (I have had a Publix sub dozens of times and it was never an issue anywhere else whatsoever) At the end she just threw my sandwich on the counter and did not say a word. It was unbelievable how poor of a worker she is. I hope the right person sees this because she definitely made my experience miserable and I have loved Publix in the past.

Generally a positive shopping experience in store, but could do without listening to High School kids gossiping at checkout.

My wife and I have this running joke that we can never get to the front of a Publix line because the waits are all atrociously wrong. This is the only Publix in town that we’ve been able to wait the entirety of the line because it runs at a normal pace. The staff serving you here are also the friendliest in town. If you live in Athens and shop at Publix, it’s worth it to come to the East Side. You’ll probably be waiting at the other ones anyway, so it’ll be worth the extra drive.

I am concerned that Publix is not doing enough to address Asian-American hate and bigotry within their stores. It seems that there is no Diversity or Inclusivity training for employment onboarding, or that the training is horribly insufficient. Each time my wife (who is of Asian descent and has spoken English fluently for 25 years) and I visit a Publix, employees either refuse to speak with her, ask her to speak slower, or, worse, ask me questions to direct to her, as if she needs some sort of interpreter. At first we chalked it up to a bad actor, but this consistently happens. When we called the store manager (store 1146) to address this more privately, we were told that he "couldn't understand her." Publix needs to address this issue systematically and incorporate sensitivity training in their onboarding process.

Crown Jewel of grocers! Publix is just better. Better selection and overall organization of stores are best overall!

My father (63 years old) went shopping here February 13, 2023 around 8pm. He was approached by a male while shopping who threatened to "knock him over". This was unprovoked and was witnessed by an employee of Publix. My dad spoke with the manager and the manager did nothing to resolve the situation. Don't go to this publix unless you want to be threatened by other customers. Management will not do anything.!!

They just started "Not giving cash back at self-checkouts" so I won't be coming back unless I have to. That really sucks because I used to use them just for that.

This store has a good selection and good quality products. Like other Publix stores, they have some great BOGOs, have wide aisles so it's easy to go around some customers if they aren't considerate about partially blocking aisles, and they honor coupons and rain checks, at least when I've been. I love their produce and deli departments! If you look at the weekly ad only buy certain products there or only buy those particular products when on sale, it's not as expensive as some people claim. They occasionally have great sales on cereal, crackers, ice cream, certain produce, for example and you can just make sure to buy it when it's a BOGO or part of a different kind of sale. Customers can always get products that are a bit expensive there at other places such as Aldi, Kroger, etc. or simply wait for them to go on sale, when applicable. My only criticism would be that the employees at this particular store aren't quite as friendly as Publix employees at some other locations. Maybe they're just really tired since some of them are also students at UGA or UNG. On the bright side, they're not pushy about carrying out small orders for younger people like me but on average, they aren't quite as nice. Still better than at most of the other grocery stores in the area though and the store is really good overall.

Checking out at Publix today, the young woman bagging my groceries informed me that the sell by date on my gallon of tea was tomorrow. She quickly exchanged it with one three weeks fresher. This is why I choose Publix.

Great customer service, always clean and neat, good variety of brands, fresh baked breads daily and great selection of produce. A little higher priced but you get what you pay for.

I hold no grudges against Publix. For it being the only real option to buy standard groceries in the area that isn't Walmart, it's just fine. The store is exceptionally lit up. These fluorescent lights are the brightest of the bright. The selection is mostly your standard food items, but there's a limited supply of gift wrapping, office, and home supplies and such. On a Saturday afternoon it wasn't terribly busy, and we were able to easily get the aid of an attendant to find what we were looking for. Trader Joe's is also in town. It's cheaper and the food is more fun, but I fully accept that sometimes you just need the standards, and Publix is your best option for that.
