I had an emerald ring cleaned and polished, and a setting replaced. The gemstone I got back looks smaller and clear, where before It was opaque. It doesn't even look the same anymore.

Worst Kay I've ever been to. They will mess up your order over and over again and then when you think they can't possibly mess it up any further they will find a way. Save your time and frustration and go to the Kay in Winder, there at least you will be treated like a valued customer.

I had the battery replaced in my watch at Wal Mart and the back was difficult to get on. The clerk said she didn't want to force it and suggested I take it to a jeweler because they have special tools to snap the back of the watch on. I took the watch to the Mall of Georgia to "Its About Time." There weren't any other customers in the store. When I showed the watch to the person working, he looked at it and said, "Oh, it's bent. I don't know if I can get it back on but I will try. It will be $20 to put the back of the watch on." I knew I was about to get scammed but I wanted to get my watch fixed. I agreed to the price, so he took it to the back and wait a couple of minutes before he came back out. He pretended that it was so hard to put the back on trying to convince me that he had done me such a favor! I gave him the $20 and walked out. I believe $5 or $10 would have been a fair price. What he doesn't know is, I have a very expensive watch that requires a $50 battery, and I would have given him my future business. Also, my friend had used him in he past, and when I told her, she said she won't do business with him any more. It doesn't pay to cheat customers

They wanted to charge me $7+ for putting one pin back into the wristband. I had the pin so the charge was only for work, which i did without their help in 10 seconds afterwards. I was amazed with their markup. Exorbitant prices will keep me away from them.

I went into the store today simply for battery replacement. The clerk looked at my watch and suggested a cleaning. She looked at it thoroughly and did not mentioned any missing stones. I wear my watch daily and would have noticed missing stones any way. When I went back to pick it up, I noticed she kept looking at it but she asked the other sales clerk to ring me up. I looked at the watch and it was missing 4 stones. She did not even have the decency to come and tell me. Then she has the never to say they were already missing. I would have noticed 4 missing stones. I am very disappointed and will not be returning to that location.

I purchased a black watch on 12/16/15 for my husband Derek. I was concerned about two things: 1) that he would not like the watch 2) that he would not be able to see the watch at night. I explained both of these concerns to the sales associate (Caitlyn) and she explained that the watch absorbed light during the day and made the numbers reflective/glow at night, so him seeing it at night should be no problem. She also said that if he just didn't care for the watch I could return it by December 30th (within 14 days). I pulled my phone out to set an event in my Calendar so that I wouldn't forget (so I asked her again "I have until the 30th right? and she said yes). She said to make sure he did not ware the watch (more than just to try it on) and to keep all the paperwork just incase we did return it. So I did as she said and unfortunately the watch did not glow or reflect at all in the dark making it pretty useless at night. Bummer but no big deal we will just return it or exchange for another watch. We go in on the 30th and are told we cannot return it because the 14 days actually includes the day it was purchased making us a day late. I explained that had I known I would have come in yesterday but I was specifically told by the associate that we had until the 30th. Erica (the sales associate refusing my return) called her manager (also named Erica) and she said the manager was too busy with her other job and could not help us now, but if we would drive back to the mall another day while she was working she MIGHT be able to help us. She said even though they weren't going to refund the money we were encouraged to go ahead and leave the watch with them. We said absolutely not! And after a long back and forth with Erica (sales associate) about how she agreed the policy was misleading and confused a lot of their customers we finally left without a refund and with our useless watch. I do intend to go back and try again, but I am sure they will find some other excuse as to why we are not entitled to a refund. We did call our bank to dispute the charge.

The worst customer service ever. Sized a watch for me. It was a little snug so the NEXT day I went back and asked if they could put one of the links back in. I didn't tell them how many links to take out. THEY determined that. They wouldn't do it without getting paid full price again. I left there feeling like I had been scammed. I have given and sent them a lot of business. They are not the only game in town. Any jeweler can sell, resize and put batteries in watches. Bye-bye.

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!!!!!! I took my watch in because I thought it needed a new battery. Turns out it is an Citizen ECO drive that just needed to be charged under a light. They tried to charge me $65 for a part I didn't need. Had to wait for them to give me my watch back because they had to put it back together. When I got home I realized that it was no longer ticking. They voided my warranty by opening it and damaged it, and LIED to my face changing their story saying the never opened it. They are INCOMPETENT and LIARS!!! I have now been told by several local jewelers to tell everyone I know to NEVER go to their store.

CONSUMER BEWARE! Should be zero stars. Took watch in for simple bracelet pin replacement. Repairman damaged watch with heavy scratches to finish in area of work, on top of bracelet and along sides of case; really butchered it. Asked clerk to speak to manager and was told repairman is manager and "he doesn't talk to the customers". Asked clerk to buff out scratches or pay for refinish work to remove scratches and clerk went back to talk to manager. Clerk returned with the reply 'no, he says it was already damaged'. Clerk admitted they check condition prior to service and there was no prior damage. I asked that they at least refund our cost ($17.50 cash) and clerk replied 'ok, but we'll have to remove the pin first. You cannot get a refund unless we undo the work'. Wow, no way I was going to let that butcher touch the watch again. Again asked to speak to the manager and clerk explained 'He will not speak to you. He never comes out front and will not deal with the customers. It is in my employment contract to deal exclusively with the public'. Seeing no resolution at hand, I asked for the managers name so I could write a letter and was told 'I cannot tell you his name'. I then asked for the name of the owners and was told 'I don't know who the owners are and I cannot give that information out'. I have since learned the repairman they later acknowledged is the manager, is in fact the owner too. Strongly advise against doing business with this outfit. Terrible service, won't warranty their work, doesn't provide refunds, and management won't talk to you? Unbelievable!

A very disappointing series of experiences I had had with It's About Time. I have been frequenting the store since its inception (ages ago), but the decline of customer service has plummeted to an all time low. The representatives they hire there, Erin, Hazel, and one other had limited knowledge about a watch and repair, poor social and customer skills, and just below standard competency. Really inferior level quality. Some examples are that they cannot articulate what exactly went wrong with watch and act scatterbrained, they are rude and defensive over the phone, there is no level of professional conduct when speaking to them. I would highly suggest to take your watch to Atlanta, as there are reputable stores there. I don't feel you can trust the handling and services of your watch from It's About Time in Athens.

It's so hard to explain how disappointed I am with this company. I have actually used them for years, then got out of the habit of wearing a watch (I've been using my smart phone) and haven't visited in at least three years. I decided to have repaired a Citizen Watch that had been laying in a drawer for several years and took it in to It's About Time for an estimate. The store employee was told that everything was working except for my perpetual calendar, which would not allow me to change the date. I also needed my band repaired. I waited a couple of days for an estimate and was told that I needed a capacitor and that the watch would be buffed, cleaned and band repaired, all for $107.00. Not cheap for a watch for which I paid @ $275, but it was a price that I was willing to pay. Twice, I was called and told my watch was ready. My first visit back, I was told that my watch was working and clean, but that the date didn't work. The store employee acted like this was new information and that I was being told something that I didn't know. I let her know that the watch was brought in because of that issue (and the band) and I was told that it would be repaired for the agreed price of $107.00. She went to the back of the store, came back, apologized and told me that she had made a mistake and that the watch wasn't finished. I was called again a couple of days later and was told that I could pick up the watch. When I arrived, I was told that a mistake had been made again and the part for the watch would arrive late in the week. Today, I received a call and was told that they were not aware of the perpetual date issue and that I would charged another $87.00 for repairing the watch....for the reason that I brought it in for repair! I asked to just have my money credited and was told that since they had ordered a part (that did not fix my watch) that I could not have a credit. At this point, they are offering to let me have my watch back, buffed and ultra cleaned, but not fixed for $107.00 or give them a total of $194.00 for more repairs. I find this to be unacceptable and will not do business with them again. Please be aware that Google Plus has several negative reviews for this business. I chose to ignore the reviews because of my previous transactions, but I am very sorry that I did not trust the judgement of my peers.

I went here today to have my $2775 TAG watch cleaned. That's it...cleaned! I asked Caitlyn several times if this was something that they were capable of doing. She said yes. She first told me $10 and then said $12. I said "okay" and she said to come back in 20 minutes. When I returned she said that they were still working on it. I went ahead and paid. Then she went and spoke to the guy in the back and I could tell that something was very wrong. She came out and very matter of fact said "when we cleaned your watch it stopped working". Just like it was no big deal. I said, "what, are you kidding me?", "that's a nearly $3000 watch". I told her that they obviously broke it and that htey needed to do the right thing and pay to have it repaired. That I would take it to a reputable dealer and have it fixed. She looked at me and seriously said "watches are like cars and sometimes they break". I am not kidding you folks. I asked her for the owners names and she just kept saying Mr. Kim. I said I need to see him and she refused saying he wasn't there. I asked to speak to the person who broke my watch and she refused saying "you are going to have to speak to me". I said "you need to put yourself in my shoes, you just broke a very expensive watch that means a lot to me". And at this point I was in tears but she just didn't care and just kept staring at me like I was the bad person. I left her my contact information for this Mr. Kim. I am hoping that he does the right thing and calls me so that he can pay for the repair of my watch. It is still under warranty but I do not believe that TAG will pay for this type of damage. I just wanted someone to admit that they did it, apologize and make it right! Do UNTO OTHERS! This gal could not care one bit about the fact that my watch was now a heap of metal. It's almost as if she thought it was funny. These people do not care and are not certified in any way to do what they do. They don't speak English so you can't speak directly to them which makes it very difficult when something goes wrong. I knew in my head that I should not allow them to touch my watch so all of this is my fault for taking such a nice watch this place. I should have known better. I should have known not to trust Caitlyn who promised me that they were capable of cleaning it. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A NICE WATCH. DO NOT ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO TOUCH YOUR TIMEPIECE IF IT MEANS ANYTHING TO YOU. If they actually call me and make it right, I will edit this post and let everyone know. Somehow, I don't think that will happen.

I went in the store needing a watch and planning to spend around 200.00. The first watch I looked was 495., obviously more than I planned to spend. When that was too high she took me to another cheaper section.Didn't have what I wanted so she sent me to the 50.00 fossils. She walked off just left me there and waited on another customer,I guess 200. bucks was not worth her trouble. I wish the guy had been there to wait on me.

I agree with the first review, there is one girl there that is less than stellar. She's not horrible or rude, but doesn't try to be accommodating either. This IS frustrating for me b/c I've been shopping there since they opened in the mall who knows how many years ago. I HAVE always gotten good prices and service overall though. I take all my watches there for battery replacement, Seiko takes FOREVER it seems but it's not the store, it's Seiko/parts/shipping, etc so I can't fault them for that. AND I'd rather it be done right than have to come back for faulty workmanship. Seiko has to do the testing on the water tight seal which is why it's a little more expensive and time consuming, but no point in having a diving watch that's not truly sealed. Overall a good store, great products and always fair pricing. Very competitive even w/ department stores and the sales they usually have running. They can also order you anything you like, catalogs like crazy! Hope this helps!
