It was my first time to come to Atlanta and I rented a car because I needed to go to the suburbs. The white Jeep was very handsome and in good condition! The service staff also patiently explained that the entire car rental process was very smooth and made us have a wonderful trip.

They explain nothing and get mad when you don't know the rules. No common sense in the building. Hope they go back to school to get a degree or something because this ain't working for them.

The truck was filthy and needed to be cleaned completely. When we rented the truck, we were told that we could add another driver the next day. When we showed up the next day, we were told we could not add another driver because it had been over 24 hours. The service staff at the rental facility were rude, and not helpful at all. We called customer service, and we were told that we needed to add drivers at the pick up location. When we said we wanted to file a formal complaint, we were told that a note could be put in our file and that nothing else could be done. Horrific customer service, filthy product, and rude individuals. Will never rent from budget, particularly this location, again.9

I prepaid online for a Toyota Corrola. I arrive on time on Sept 5, Sunday at 11:30AM. When I arrive they have no car, only a flatbed truck. No apology, no explanation. They were unfriendly and unhelpful despite not being busy.

Long story short I made a reservation through my AARP consultant, I did not want to use a CC. I was told to make sure I brought I.D. and Insurance. Upon reading info sent to me I saw nothing about a utility bill which would have been no problem to run home and get. After receiving such non welcoming approach. No good morning, how are you, may I help. I need id and reservation number per (Miya) told her I was not told to bring that info and I assured what I need to bring she stated well it's on the web site and reservations was made through 3rd party.proceeded to do other things . i'm standing there waiting he( Gary) just looks and me and states like she said.you need utility bill. they proceeded to help a young man.I decided to take my business else where simply because I will not spend my money with a company who staff is so nasty and unfriendly and rude. Then give the reservation number when asked for cooperate. For me its not the utility bill needed it was the customer service. I work in customer service and I'm a manager. I would never handle a customer like that which means lost business. What if I was from another state got dropped off no help? I felt I would be up the creek without a paddle the staff surely didn't care. Further more that place needs a good cleaning, better parking and presentable inside atmosphere along with a better staff. It was my birthday and it put me in a sad space to deal with nasty people so early in the morning which through my trip off because I had to find another facility and it worked out great. The young lady was nice, friendly, and made sure I knew every document to bring. My day was made better and I enjoyed my trip, however I will never forget I how I was treated at Budget Rental Car 140 Courtland St. by Miya and Gary.

Gary at the Courtland St location es nice and helpful. I was trying to rent a car since yesterday. They were so rude in other companies at the airport yesterday because our flight to go back home is on North Carolina and they do not allow to drop car there. I told Gary I could change the plane but he said me to not worry, he called and asked for a trip car for us to pick up tomorrow morning. He was so helpful and sweet. Today is my birthday and I am so happy that Gary could help us! Workers are nice and they try to help you in Budget. I will switch to this company for my next road trips.

Some of the worst customer service i have experienced has been at this location, been renting from budget for years. just that one interaction has me questioning any future business. im never for one to pull the race card but i will just the treatment was clearly not the same for every patron that morning. to make matters even worst she gave me every excuse you can think of why we cant rent a car. first the tag was expired, second the car is not starting thats after she said they on their way with the car final excuse was that the card needs to be present even if its direct billing. she said thats budget new policy oh ok

I had an absolutely horrendous experience booking a moving truck here. The day of my rental, I was sent to a location in Decatur that I could barely find listed as a Budget Truck location, where the service was slow and unprofessional. They sent me off with a moving truck with a low tire light on. After I asked the mechanic on site to fill up the tire, he checked the pressure, assured me it was fine and sent me off.I wasn't even on the road for 25 miles when my rear tire blew, sending me swerving across every lane of I-85 and almost flipping the truck. The repairs to the truck cost me a whole day of moving time and a day of lost pay for work. Now they are charging me $500 for the replacement of the tire, which was underinflated and faulty when I received the truck. An absolute scam with horrible customer service.

Terrible company, will reach out to corporate because their policy is invasive & after trying to do business here I left with a migraine. My own vehicle was totaled by drag racers at the beginning of August, so I have been traumatized and stressed ever since. I call today and make a reservation. I get to the location only to be told they need all of this personal info that no other car agency requires JUST BECAUSE I AM A LOCAL. They want insurance documents that are NEW policies (how ridiculous) so if you're local that means your policies WON'T be new I just moved so they wanted a utility bill (that won't come out until October). THEN they asked for bank statements but it had my mailing address on it yet my insurance policy HAD my physical address on it. Couldn't use that either I don't even see how they stay in business. Why not just ask for people's social security card. How shady you have all of my mailing, physical and financial information AND I still don't qualify. No telling what they will do with all of your information. GOOD LUCK WASTING YOUR TIME. Because they should disclose this when you're making your reservation. I'll definitely use word of mouth to make sure people know not to bring them any business. Hopefully they'll be next to go out of business from their practices. I hope this company does not survive the pandemic.

We rented a car in Aug 2019 and when we arrived we were provided a minivan. We were asked to inspect the vehicle ourselves and then we were off. The trip was going great until I was rear ended. The driver and I exchanged info. I called Budget at the accident scene for direction on what to do and was told to keep driving the car and they'll take care of it when we return. I took it back to the rental office and they said that since I was going to the airport to just drop it off at that location. We did that, got the paperwork and once home provided all the info to the at fault drivers insurance. Now, here we are months later and I'm getting letters and emails from Budget asking me to pay 6K! I was not at fault. I'm being threatened to be sent to collections. My insurance is now involved and it's a mess. Renters beware! If you are in an accident and it's not your fault, budget will try to juice you for money even after they have sold the car and been paid by the at fault insurance company. No other rental company goes after the driver NOT at fault,! pay extra and rent with a more reputable company. It's not worth renting with Budget

Everything about my experience here was terrible. I booked a truck on their website, and besides the addition of several fees at the final screen of the checkout, everything looked okay. I go to pick up the truck, and there's two very unhappy people working. They didn't crack a single smile even though I was very nice to them. The lady asked for a debit or credit card to make the purchase and to hold a deposit on. I handed her a debit card and my license, and she informed me that she couldn't rent to me because my license was from out of the state. Upon further discussion, she could rent to me, she just needed a credit card instead of a debit card. Okay, you could have told me that. Finally, I'm about to finish the check-out process, and she says she can't rent to me because my drivers license won't swipe through her machine. Um, it's a valid driver's license. I don't care if you can't swipe it. It's their rule, though, so what could I do. I proceed to go get my passenger who lives in the state to put the rental under his name instead, but after further complications, she won't rent to him either.

Before writing any review, I like to check out recent reviews that other Yelpers have submitted. Several of the reviews for this location were 1-star. So as not to bury the lede: I am giving them 4 stars, and here's why. We arrived on a Sunday around 10:15 am; I presented the manager, Graham, with a copy of my reservation (yes, perhaps printing it out is a bit old school - but this method is tried & true and will invariably save you time and trouble.) Graham was very friendly and immediately had his assistant get our SUV ready. It only took about 10 minutes to get through the paperwork. Several Yelpers have complained about issues with debit cards and documentation. I realize that not everyone has a credit card or may choose to use one; however, virtually every business is going to make you jump through hoops when you present a debit card. It's just a reality. Thus, as I presented my CC and drivers license, I was in and out quickly. To the car itself: Graham gave us a new Toyota 4Runner - only 2,000 miles. My wife told me that when the assistant pulled it up, he stated that he wanted to make sure it was as clean as possible - so he gave it a quick wash and vacuum. That was a very thoughtful touch. Overall, I found this location to be just right. While on the small side, they had the vehicle I had requested, and it was in excellent condition. Graham was very helpful and friendly. Finally, it SURE beats going through the hassle of renting a car at ATL airport and then paying for an overnight in the city ($40-$50).

If I could rate as zero I would. Please heed my advice and NEVER rent with Budget, in Atlanta or ANYWHERE! I sure won't ever again. On 3/22 I request a sedan from Budget at Atlanta Airport. They give me a God ugly blue Dodge Charger. I don't care. I simply need a car that runs. I leave Airport grounds. 20 minutes into drive, warning light comes on. I have a flat tire. I pull into a nearby gas station. I wait 2 hours for them to provide me a replacement. That's not the issue. I actually wasn't thrilled about that, but I dealt with it. What is prompting this review is not only did they allow me to leave the airport with a flat tire, THEY SENT ME A $400.00 BILL TO PAY FOR IT!! When I contacted their corporate offices, their cop out response: Atlanta Airport location is not a corporate location so there's nothing we can do. I will fight this but I want to ensure no one else goes through the experience I went through with Budget. STAY AWAY FROM BUDGET RENT A CAR!

March 2019 by Tiffane L.
It is unfortunate that I have to write this type of review but this is the experience that I had & it seems others did as well. I reserved a car on a Saturday because I needed it to drive to a funeral. Website was easy to navigate, used my corporate code for a discount, reasonable price, great so far. I get to the location & was informed by the employee (Gary) that when using a debit card you have to show two documents w/ the same address. Never mind that in GA you already have to do that to get a driver's license in GA & I was displaying a GA license. Plus, Budget does operate in more than just GA, so I understand it's their policy across the board & I also understand that I was the one who did not read this policy beforehand. I did ask if this was on the website & according to Gary it is and then he also provided me w/ a copy of the policy. I asked if a mortgage statement would qualify as proof of address and according to Gary a mortgage statement nor lease agreement qualify as the necessary documentation. He stated a utility bill, bank statement, were a few examples that would qualify. Why wouldn't a lease agreement or mortgage statement qualify, I don't understand, especially since you can't get utilities turned on w/o showing a lease or signed mortgage agreement. After a few attempts of trying to think of qualifying documents & where they are located, I considered cancelling. Before doing this, I called Avis to see if they would require additional documentation (they don't) and then I read the penalty for cancelling. I go back inside & the manager on duty (Graham) gave me the 800 number for customer service & stated I would need to call them to see if they would waive any fees. At this time, now I'm reading everything because it would be a hassle to try to find these documents especially since I've moved. I re-read the debit card policy and strike gold! Right there in the policy, what's listed as a qualifying document *insert drumroll* MORTGAGE STATEMENT!!! YES! So I point this out to the manager, Graham - who was present when Gary told me that a mortgage statement doesn't qualify - and he was nice about it. He verified that this was the most current policy (in effect since March 27, 2018, almost a year but apparently no one has read it completely). He allowed me to email him my statement and was able to get me into a vehicle. Gary comes back and Graham tells him to get my vehicle ready because I've produced a mortgage statement. Gary again states that it's not a qualifying document but Graham points it out to him that it is in fact a qualifying document in accordance w/ their most current policy. In my years of renting cars, they do the walk around the vehicle w/ you, not this Budget location (I don't want to generally say Budget doesn't because this is my first & last time renting w/ them, so I want to be clear, the employees at this location do not) and it wasn't just with me it was everyone I saw come in. They tell you to go inspect & them let them know if you see something. God forbid you're in an unfamiliar vehicle because they don't tell you how to use any of the features. And they weren't busy, so there's that. I also saw a few people before me get rentals and did not observe Gary or Graham contact the insurance company to verify that they had full coverage yet he called my insurance company. But whatever, call them, I'm insured in these streets everywhere I go. When I leave, I contact customer service and speak with Hermando (sorry I don't have a rep number or anything) and tell him what happen. I admit my fault for not reading the policy but my issue is w/ the employees & management not knowing the policy & providing misinformation. Hermando proceeds to tell me that he's sorry that I had that experience at one of Budget'
