June 2023 by Theodore White
Truly one of the greatest experiences of my life now I've had a few. My name is Theodore White and I just want to take this time to thank all of the success coaches, life coaches, Administration, and staff of the Atlanta Center for Self-Sufficiency. When you're going through such a bad situation you really need people to be on your side and they are 100%. I was dealing with a bout with homelessness and with the inability to find a good paying job and my credit not really as good it was very hard to make it nowadays. This is one of the places I would refer to by the Gateway Center and they truly went over the top. Not at one time did I feel unwelcome, they did everything they could to help teach not only myself but my class the skills to not only just get a job to actually be on the path to a life-changing career. On my first day we were greeted by a little class by the VP of operations Mr. Ellis, and what his charismatic and caring connection to all of the potential students I knew I had found the right place to get me back on the right track. They have several resources at your disposal especially for veterans and they really do everything they can to make sure you get that leg up when it comes to going after better employment opportunities. Of course the foundation starts with showing you what skills you may have beyond the skills that you already have which leads into the crafting of a tailored resume to help you when you're out on the job searches throughout the city of Atlanta and throughout the state of Georgia. The first class was with Mrs. Deloache, that's where all the skills and resume building started. Then of course you go to Mr Wyatt who taught us about opportunities for continued training to help you get the hard skills to land you an even better career employment opportunity. And then we move on to Mr Cobb senior life coach at the Atlanta Center for self-sufficiency. He took us through identifying what diversity really is and where it starts and how you can be more aware of how diversity affects you in life especially in the workplace. As we were taught all this we were allowed to craft our resumes to our existing skills and create the best opportunity for better employment with what skills we have already. Of course the week culminated in a job fair where you met one-on-one with various employers some who were hiring right on the spot. Fortunately I was able to find an opportunity that would forgive some of my issues of the past and help me get a fresh start on a new life. That Friday we were giving breakfast we were also honored with a ceremony that celebrated our accomplishments over the past week. And I'm glad to have Mr Santos as my success coach because he truly looks out for me he actually help me pick out a nice suit from the donation closet that I was able to wear to the celebration. Now when I did say there was Financial education well this is an ongoing thing with none other than Mr Hill. Mr Hill is truly a wonderful success coach in the area of personal finance and he's looking to help each and every one of us get our credit back online and teaching us how to save money so that we can take our lives to where they really should be and that's the best life possible. Overall this training is teaching us all to be able to sustain ourselves in our society even though our situations may not be completely turned around at the point of me writing this review. I guarantee with the help of the Atlanta Center for self-sufficiency. Everyone will be helped out now I can't say much about the veteran services but I do know my great brother Richard who is a veteran is very happy that he's able to tap into these resources. So if you need some help in Atlanta, there's only one place to go the Atlanta Center for self-sufficiency, thank you so much and I can't wait until I'm in position to help people too.

The financial coach is exacting when it comes to renewing your credit score. Hope should be her middle name!

They are an organization that cares about the community, and helping with economic stability for unemployed individuals. I love them , they saved my nephew life. He completed the class and with the wonderful staff guidance- he found his purpose. Now, he lives in Montana, and has two jobs, and friends. His ACSS experience restored his belief ,and open him up to life possibilities. They are an awesome group of people who care.

I can honestly say if you’re a veteran DO NOT GO HERE. They absolutely use veterans for the numbers. They should be banned from Ft McPherson because it’s a numbers game for them to receive money from the government.
