Went to an amazing event this weekend. Was the first time I've ever been inside the ACU campus. The parking was adjacent to the campus building we were headed to so no issues with parking. But even on the weekends it was $12! A lot! Also, the system did not read my ticket printed so I had to pay $24 to get out as they charge $24 for a lost ticket but the security help kept disconnecting the call so I had no choice. Staff - they had some CAU staff on site for the event but mostly event staff were present. Atmosphere - now the building itself definitely have HBCU vibes!! Loved everything about it! Nothing seemed dirty or too outdated. Everything worked in the bathrooms and the technology supplies were updated. I appreciated the school hosting the event and look forward to visiting for other events as well. Definitely recommend and look forward to returning. Thanks Brittney

Physically: very neat and tidy. Prices are quite high though. $25 hat? $45-60 sweatshirts? It’s pretty absurd. At least give the students a discount and sell parents/staff full price items. It’s no wonder the place is always fully stocked. The actual bookstore part of it is a true mess. All students are automatically enrolled in a “Book Bundle” that pays for all course materials at a flat rate, despite if you have one class or eight… you can see the disparity there. The only problem is, in practice it doesn’t work. As a freshman, I only got 1 book (of 5) when I was supposed to. The others I got weeks after class had started (as did many other students), causing professors to postpone due dates. All of this because instead of just getting us the book or ebook, the university is buying access to other materials that students don’t need or even use. Ebooks aren’t a new thing either. This should have been solved years ago.

Great Service and a great experience for the mentally thirsty soul. There is a lot of history to be absorbed here at Clark Atlanta University.

If you are interested in being a theatre arts major DO NOT GO HERE. They charge $40000 a year and somehow there's no funding for the theatre department. Limited rehearsal spaces, no hands on costuming or set building for students interested in those aspects, and we don't even have our own theatre to perform in. Plus you'll probably have one professor teaching all your theatre classes, so the curriculum will be harshly similar throughout your college experience, aka no growth or variety. They do not value performance art, but you might have more luck at Spelman or Morehouse. Good luck.

Great bookstore. The manager is so pleasant and warm it feels like she’s a close family member. I was inclined to give her a hug and say I love upon leaving the store, lol. The staff at the bookstore is fast when collecting requirements for course, has good energy, helpful and willing to listen. Pretty decent selection of campus swag as well.
