Atlanta is a thriving city and it deserves a quality History Science museum especially with all our outstanding academic institutions nearby. We have travelled to museums all over the world . History and Science matters . The museum unfortunately is very outdated and needs more ongoing exhibits for all of us to learn and be linked to an academic institution for ongoing growth and research . The museum has poor curation. It is disorganized, lacks correlation and even though the atrium and building is aesthetically large and appealing , it lacks proper space planning and design . The lighting for the exhibits and curation is poor . There is so much wasted space , poor planning, and disorganization. The exhibits deserve credit . There could be more rolling cases of exhibits . History Science art museums are critical for communities. The museum has unfortunately been neglected. The playground inside on the 3rd floor and the outdoor walkway is good for little ones to explore .The large indoor dinosaur replica and IMAX theater is what anchors the museum . Check out Into America’s Wild National Geographic 3D Film. The museum exhibits are unfortunately very outdated and disorganized . The staff is inexperienced and it’s unfortunate since public tax records state there is plenty of funding yet the museum is poorly managed and directed . They claim they are a non profit but we discovered through public tax records they mismanage there funding .There is ample parking . The cafeteria food is low quality so eat before going .As an Atlanta native it is sad the museum itself has not grown or evolved since the 1990s.The forest canopy has grown outside . Wildwoods aglow is pretty outside but even the kids and adults walked away disappointed.

Fernbank is a great museum with a great outdoor space. It's not too big, so you can get through in a couple hours. The membership is fully worth it, even if you come just once for each special exhibit. There are four per year. The outdoor area is so much fun for kids and Fernbank Forest is a very nice walk.

Visited Aglow at the Fernbank Museum on a night with music and cocktails. The music was upbeat, the variety of cocktails was excellent and the exhibitions are great too! You get access to exhibitions and other fun activities around the museum!

WildWoods: AGLOW at Fernbank Museum, definitely lived up to its hype and well worth the 90-minute drive to Atlanta. It was drizzling rain, but it added to the ambiance of it all. We walked through its interactive glowing forest after dark, enveloped with diverse sounds of the forests, meditative tones and radiating glowing lights that followed through with every step and action. My pictures and clips do not do it justice. It was an extraordinary way to finish up Ella's birthday weekend!

Fernbank Museum was great. I am so glad we added it on our list of things to do while in Atlanta. We spent about 2 hours in the museum. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The exhibits were great and informational. Unfortunately, we did not have time to see the movie screenings, however they did seem interesting. We loved walking through WildWoods and Fernbank Forest. It was very relaxing. I would recommend a visit for a relaxing family or solo day.

Beautiful nature preserve lots of ground to cover. Plan ahead 2 hours if you want to cover everything. Well placed sculptures throughout forest. Our walk throughout forest was fun, told ghost stories, playful game of killing Fernbank zombies..3D Movie ok.Small playground, tree house and waterfall very comforting on a hot sunny day after nature walk.

Came here and my boy had a blast on the 3rd floor/top floor. Even we had fun with some of the things they had there. Also, wifi! It was after we went to the zoo so we only stayed here like an hour plus we had an early dinner reservation somewhere. We didn't get to explore outside sadly.

This museum is nice.Has 3 lvls of interesting themes and items from bird displays, children's area, 3d theater, dinosaur display and items, a Beautiful outdoor trail and sitting area, culture center, gift shop and more.Apparently, they have an after dark theme for adults that you may want to check out.Overall, it was a good experience.

For two years old kids to eighty years plus elders, this wonderful museum has a lot to offer ...... for enjoyment, for learning, for acquiring knowledge in the areas of science, history, and anthropology. Provides an amazing platform to children to learn with experiments .... in fact, they are good for any age, provided one is wanting to learn. My three years old granddaughter thoroughly enjoyed... so did I and my entire family, and each one of us had learned something new as we came out of this beautiful museum.I think the entry ticket is very high... many, though wanting to visit, may not be able to afford it. A lower priced ticket would make it accessible to many more..... Just an honest suggestion.A must visit.

Pretty cool place here. The outside area with the ropes is the coolest spot for kids. They also have plenty of exhibits and things to keep you busy. Give yourself 2 hours or so to fully explore.

Museums in general tend to be hit or miss, and sometimes it has nothing to do with the quality of the museum. Some people just don't like history the same way some people don't like math, science, etc. That being said... I love history, and I love science! This museum has something for the intersection of both of those interests. There are several prehistoric exhibits, some related to human history, some physics showcases, the evolution of ecosystems, the works. Now, are these things interesting to everyone? No, not at all. But that doesn't diminish the quality of the museum to those who *do* enjoy it. And quite frankly, I REALLY enjoyed it!

Great museum for Children and adults as well who appreciate science. I appreciated the Georgia national science and ecosystems exhibits. The interactive psychics section is fun and informative. Outdoor area is very warm in late July but lush and well appointed.
