About Food4Lives

Food4Lives is a non-profit organization founded in 2017 by students from Georgia Tech and Emory, dedicated to helping the homeless in Atlanta. Through their three main services—Annadanam (free food), Vastradanam (basic needs and shelter), and Vidyadanam (free education)—they aim to feed, educate, and empower those in need. The organization operates seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering healthy vegetarian meals to the homeless, as well as to the general public, including adults, children, disabled individuals, and seniors. Volunteering at Food4Lives is described as a rewarding, soul-enriching experience. Volunteers help with preparing food, washing dishes, and distributing meals at locations like Woodruff Park in downtown Atlanta. The atmosphere among volunteers is positive, with everyone eager to help and contribute with great attitudes. Recipients of the food are respectful and appreciative, making the service meaningful for everyone involved. Many volunteers find the experience to be the highlight of their week, often noting that helping others and working alongside a diverse group fosters friendships and personal growth. Food4Lives is recognized for its simple yet impactful approach to serving the community, driven by love and a genuine desire to support those in need.
