Be forewarned... If you are a person of color, you will be treated differently and your business is not welcomed. Any attempt to open a new account is really a waste of your time. The management of this branch clearly does not care for anyone who isn't white. It is an absolute shame to allow an employee, aka the manager who has been with the company over 20 years, to be in a position where she cannot conduct business properly. Her attitude, along with her fellow same-complected cohort, is absolutely deplorable and unacceptable. This is the representation Georgia's Own Credit Union has in place in a market where the population diversity is major. However, it appears this particular branch prefers to have a customer base that is lily white.**In response to their reply, if Georgia's Own would take the time to thoroughly investigate these mounting indistinguishable complaints and reviews, and devise remediation approaches to fix, then their ratings wouldn't be so low. They have scores of reviews from people across the internet claiming the exact same thing per their own experiences. This isn't coincidental. It is majorly clear as day that there is an ethnicity/race factor at play within their operations yet they turn a blind eye to it and want you to contact them via their supplied email address from a canned apologetic reply as if that will correct the problem. If there were negative number ratings to give I would rate with the highest negative. Georgia's Own...it is past time to let go of the prejudiced and racist employees you have on staff.

If you want to bank with an antiquated bank that makes you feel like yourself still in the 1930’s then this is your place! All of Georgias Own Credit Union as a whole is a JOKE. Save yourself the time and stress and go to a real bank.

We went 1 hr before the branch was closing..Krystal the bank officer sensed the urgency and worked with us to take care of our needs. She is knowledgeable and helped us out.

This Credit Union absolutely has a racial bias. There's the one racist teller who speaks very condescending to people who arent white. I complained about her and her treatment. She's still there doing the exact same thing. No change in her attitude. The good thing I'd there are other babks... abd after 20 yrs it's time for a change.

Inside the bank, I have had great experiences. Quick for simple banking. If you want to call and speak to someone it's almost impossible. Their phone system is ridiculous, just to speak to a teller?

The worst service I've encountered. Tried to open a simple checking account. After being asked to provide proof of citizenship, I provided my US Passport. Apparently a passport isn't enough for this institution. This took 4 weeks.I went to a competitor opened a account and made a 50k deposit in 1 hour.Seems like Georgia's Own Credit might have a racial bias

Before these clowns bought this union everything was great. I did the overdraft to help with bills. I get disability so my money is deposited once a month. They charge $35 a day for late fees. They took my entire check saying I owed them $1000 to make it worse they closed my account for lack of using my card! now I have to find somewhere for my check to go and overdraft fees is stupid

Went to deposit my paycheck, Danny the bank teller acted clueless and said he wasn't able to fully cash my check instead $225 would be cashed and the rest on hold for 2 days. No reason why.

I really wish I read these reviews before opening an account with them. This is the WORST bank ever. Please bank with any other credit union besides them. Customer service is NON EXISTENT. Their automated phone system is a joke and terrible. When you do finally get in contact with someone they keep transferring you send you back to an automated system that hangs up because it doesn’t recognize your “social”. Yikes. I should’ve just banked with another bank. I will be closing my account. Please save yourself a headache and deal with a bank who actually cares about your money. I really had high expectations for this bank. Such a disappointment!

This isWorst financial institution I've ever had to deal with only use it because they haven't drive they're an unphysically disabled admit more times than not I have to go in to handle business. Always the worst customer service I have ever had. First agent gave me a call back as requested, put me on hold and then hang up.Then called again and had another agent. She was the snarkiest person I’ve delt with.

This place is terrible. The service is impersonal, the fees are higher and your personal information gets sold to EVERYONE.My older smaller better credit union was eaten up by this gigantic monstrosity in from the get go they were trying to squeeze me in for hidden fees and fines by tricking me to sign up for things that I didn’t need, and lying about the benefits of those programs.This place is interested in only one thing which is milking their members for every penny they can get. The employees are rude and the service is crummy. Everyone there has a “blame the customer“ attitude.Your personal information is not safe and their online services are not secure. They use cheap firewalls and when you try to link your account to online services it takes days to validate instead of instantaneously like most other financial institutions. They are technologically behind the times and your personal information will not be secured. When you get hammered by a data breach you can remember that I told you so.And spam, oh my God the amount of spam I’ve gotten since they devoured my old credit union is ridiculous. you can unsubscribe to your hearts content and it’s not going to mean a thing. Don’t give them a real email address or you will be sorry.Everything taken together means a culture of not respecting their customers. Really, you might as well just go to actual bank.
