I’m genuinely stunned by my recent experience at this location. I came in shortly before closing to grab a specific item, knowing exactly what I needed. To my shock, the manager, Kathleen, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She made it clear that I was an inconvenience, even mentioning that the other employee was hungry and implying I shouldn’t have come in so late.
I felt so uncomfortable that I recorded the entire interaction. I remained quiet while she yelled at me because I was worried that if I responded, I wouldn’t be able to complete my purchase. After ringing me up, I asked for her name, which she gave me before rudely telling me to leave.
As a general manager myself, I’m well aware of the challenges that come with the role, but Kathleen’s behavior was beyond unacceptable. This kind of conduct has no place in any business, especially from someone in a leadership position.
I hope this review helps in making sure no one else has to endure such an unpleasant experience.
Update: I just found out that after our encounter, Kathleen called security and spoke with Amy, the supervisor, claiming that I came in belligerent and cursed her out. This is absolutely false, and little does she know, I recorded the entire interaction. It will be quite eye-opening when I show this video to corporate.
Not only is Kathleen treating customers poorly, but she’s also making false claims to cover her actions. This is a serious issue that needs immediate investigation. Her behavior is not only unprofessional but also legally concerning, as this could be considered defamation of character. I will be taking this matter further, including seeking legal advice.
Someone from corporate should contact me as soon as possible to discuss this situation.
Update: 8/10/24 I have contacted customer service and requested a callback from the district manager. I should be expecting the call within 24-48 hours.
Update: August 27th
I still have not received any call or follow-up. This lack of communication is truly disappointing and frustrating. It’s now been over 2 weeks and the situation remains unresolved. This is honestly insane!

GNC at Howell mill has the vitamins i need. good thing the store staff and manager showed me store discount buy 1 get one free! and good thing this GNC has my vitamins i need.

I recently had an unpleasant experience with large redhead lady at this store. I asked about a supplement, and she suggested one option. When I inquired about other similar products, she responded curtly, "Why do you need any other options?"
After making my selection, she asked if I had a GNC loyalty account. I said no, and she then proceeded to ask other customers for their phone numbers to assign them my points, which wasn't an issue. However, she told another customer that I "refused to cooperate with her." I was actually in a rush. This behavior was unprofessional, disappointing and inconsiderate of my time. I hope that management will address this issue.

Katie was really nice and gave good recommendations on the lean shakes. She was super friendly and I'll definitely be back just for the good customer service.

Organized, well-stocked, clean, and friendly staff. I usually go out of my way to re-up on supplements at this location. Quick in and out. Personally, I've never had an issue with items out of stock, rude staff, not being open, etc. However I did just move to the area a couple months back.

Went to this store today for some pre workout at 7:00pm to find out that the store lights is on but doors locked. Waited almost 40 mins before the young chick walks out the back with a airpod in one ear, phone in one hand smiling. Reached out to GNC customer care and they stated the store should never be closed. The young rep refused to give the district manager name or manager name when asked so I decided to leave a review on every channel until someone reach back out. Extremely bad experience.

Clocked out on my lunch to get some items and they have the door locked during business hours with the lights and open sign on. I can see why they are failing

Drove all the way here at 11:20am and the doors were locked and no employees in sight. Called and no answer. It says 10:00am online. Such an unpredictable inconvenience..
