Anna is an amazing trainer. She understands the psychology of the dogs and their "humans." We highly recommend her!

Anna is absolutely fantastic! Our puppy and us both love her to bits! She is super patient, great fun, and helped us every step of the way. I would recommend her a million times over to every dog parent. Thank you Anna!

Anna showed up for the initial consultation 15 minutes late and left 10 minutes early. After the meeting she gave some good tips and then suggested I give my dog either CBD or another drug to calm her down. On the follow up appointment, she cancelled day of due to illness. While I'm absolutely ok with this, especially due to everything going on I would have expected her to offer a follow up appt. This was the last time I ever heard from Happy Healthy Pup. I called, texted, and emailed 3 weeks later to try to set up another appointment but was only able to set an appointment through the website which was 2 months out. No one ever returned my call until I sent Anna a copy of a previous negative review on Yelp displaying this same attitude towards clients.

Anna with Happy Healthy Pup has been an amazing dog trainer. Her method of training is by positive reinforcement which gets all family members involved. We have a 4 year old dog that is anxious so when we got a Great Dane puppy we knew we needed a trainer that is very knowledgeable in animal behavior. Anna is helping us, not only raise a happy healthy puppy, but is also helping us work through behavioral issues with our dog. I cannot be happier with our experience. Anna is the best!

I've worked with Anna on so many occasions. I'm a professional dog walker and many of my clients are clients are hers. And they LOVE her. The dogs are so well mannered. I'm also a client. My dog, Tater Tot, has some behavioral issues and Anna has helped so much. I really enjoy our training sessions. She's great. You won't regret hiring her.

I have a different perspective of Happy, Healthy Pup as I'm not a client. I am a professional dog walker/pet sitter and I've referred several clients to her over the years. ALL of them have been more than happy working with her. They've commented to me that they admire her enthusiasm and dedication which inspires THEM to be more engaged with their dogs. Training is fun for the clients as well as fun for the dogs. Anna offers a comprehensive approach to her clients which not only includes training but also nutrition and holistic approaches to things like anxiety. All of Anna's training techniques are 100% positive reinforcement! I continue to work with the clients I've referred so I see firsthand the progress and the transformation in each of her "fur students." Anna has always been a resource for me when I've asked her training questions or a client has asked me a question I can't answer. Learning from her has sharpened my skills as a dog handler which ultimately impacts my clients. I continue to refer to her knowing that she's the best of the best. The clients we share have happy, well-mannered dogs as a result of her training.

So you got a new fur baby. What's the first thing on your mind? OK, AFTER oohing and aahing over how adorable they are. Oh wait, that never stops. Moving on.... If you're like me, you're probably trying to decide the best way to raise your puppy into a frequently petted member of society. You got three options: 1) Raise him/her yourself - this includes YouTube videos, asking friends, or your own personal experience 2) Group training - offered by all the big brand stores and most pet trainers 3) Personal training - 1-on-1 with an expert customized to your dog's needs I put my first Pomsky through Petsmart's group training and it was a success. For my second Pomsky, I decided to give the personal training a shot...besides the obvious benefits for my fur baby, it would undoubtedly result in leveling up my dog owner game. Hopped on Yelp and Google and quickly found Happy Healthy Pup. Professional website design, super-friendly person on the phone, and minutes later, I booked an initial consultation with Anna. Three things that I look for in any kind of personal trainer or coach: 1) Expertise - fast results and proven knowledge 2) Accountability Plan - do they wing it or do they have a proven plan that can be customized for you...and do they follow up to make sure you're getting RESULTS (i.e., progress review) 3) Service/Attention - do they seem like they care and are they attentive to my needs/questions/requests Initial "trial" session was superb. Anna showed up on time, played with my dog, dropped a ton of gems, and even wrote down homework for me. I was sold and immediately signed up for a 6-week training plan for $600. Since then, here are my thoughts on Anna as a trainer based on the three criteria mentioned above: 1) Expertise - she's an expert. No questions about it. Learned a TON from her. Grade: A+ 2) Accountability Plan - I expected weekly homework, accountability, follow-ups, and at least a quick progress review. The only thing I got was verbal homework (not documented, seemingly random at times). She rarely asked about how he was doing from last week's lesson, which I can only assume is because she didn't remember what last week's lesson was. No more written homework tasks (as she did at the end of the initial session), very few follow-up questions to see how he was doing...the whole 6-week program felt like it was 100% winged. I understand each dog is different and the training was probably tailored to my goals, but there has to be SOME set curriculum when training a brand-new puppy right? Basic obedience commands, potty training, leash walking, socialization, obstacles, etc...after the first session it felt like every other session was about socialization and/or obstacles. I can appreciate those are important factors, but it wasn't until week 5 until she gave me tips on walking him on a leash...and that was only because I asked her directly. I wish I would've gotten that information in Week 2 as that's something I need to do every single day. Overall, the training felt random/scattered..I had to remember to ask her specific questions on aspects I felt should've been covered in a standard sequential training plan. Grade: C 3) Service/Attention - being that I paid $600 up front for 6 sessions, I would assume that put me in the highest tier of her paid clients. I believe for puppy training, that is the most expensive package they offer. So accordingly, I expected an impressive level of service. Proactive follow-ups, scheduling of training sessions, fast response to questions, etc...unfortunately, I received none of that. Zero proactive followups. If we didn't schedule the next session at the end of the previous session, zero proactive texts from her asking when I would like to schedule. I asked her 2-3 questions over text...a pretty fast response there so no complaints. But here was the dealbreaker for me: There were two weeks where I texted her a

Since our Golden Retriever puppy Miko is our first dog, we looked for expert professional help beyond group puppy classes, and found the perfect support in Anna Johnson's personalized, effective, and extremely informative and helpful training sessions. Whatever the issue, Anna provided us with great tools and clear strategies, which were exactly right for our puppy's personality, and also turned each training session into a fun event for everybody involved. As a gifted trainer with a scientific background in animal behavior, Anna truly speaks canine and can read a dog's individual traits, which often seems almost magical. We also used the "board and train" option, Anna offers for individual dogs in her home with its huge wooded back yard, when we had to travel to Europe for 3 weeks, and can only wholeheartedly recommend it. Miko came back as an even happier, almost transformed dog, having made enormous progress in a loving, and fun environment, where all previous training efforts were deepened, reinforced and put on the next level. Working with Anna has been an absolute joy, for us and Miko, and we look forward to many more productive and wonderful training sessions with her. Claudia and Rudy

I live in California and was coming to Georgia to pick up a golden retreiver puppy. Since I have never had a puppy I asked trainer friends here about a good trainer in Atlanta. HHP's, Anna, name came up more than once. She went to see the litter at 6 weeks (in Moorland) and then came with me to pick out "the one". I had done research about the critical first 16 weeks and after talking with Anna, my 4 day trip was extended to almost 2 weeks. She worked with both of us and cemented my relationship with my puppy sooner than I would have by myself. We trained, puppy visited restaurants and lots of public places and she gave me a plan that I could continue when I returned home. I now have a confident and loving dog because of Anna. I cannot thank her enough.

As much as I love dogs (I have 4) I am the worst dog trainer ever!! I needed Ana desperately after I got TWO Great Dane puppies. Ana is so amazing. She was sure to train me, to train my husband, to be able to train our pups! Positive reinforcement training is the best (on husbands and puppies)!

Anna is such a pleasure to work with! After reading reviews online and our first consultation with Allison, we were so excited to get started with our training. We have a 12 week old Goldendoodle who is full of energy & is just learning everything about his new world. Anna is very patient & kind, and trains with positive reinforcement, which was so important to my husband & I. She is very flexible with scheduling, which was another very important factor for us (she even came over on Labor Day to train our puppy!). After one training session, our puppy has learned three different commands and we are already noticing a positive difference in his behavior. Anna leaves you with notes following each training session, along with products/treats/food recommendations for your puppy, which is such a huge help, especially for new owners. We decided to purchase the puppy package, and are so excited for our upcoming training sessions. I would highly recommend Anna to any pet owners, as her knowledge and training style really is so impressive!

Our dog Stella has been through all kinds of training. We have spent thousands and nothing we did over a 3 year period helped her. She has anxiety and fear aggression. She's on Prozac but even that hasn't helped tremendously. We have isolated ourselves from friends and family because she is so aggressive that we cannot have anyone over, and since she came into our lives, we haven't been able to take a vacation because no one can keep her. Because we love her so much, we continued searching for new trainers and new training techniques - we finally found Anna!!! So far, we have only had 2 training sessions, but we can tell a huge difference in her. Anna's approach is so different than anything we have tried. Her holistic training methods and fun training games are really working!!! I will and have recommend Happy Healthy Pup to everyone I know!

Anna's training is SO effective! She thinks and trains holistically, and considers every aspect of a dog's life (food, training, surroundings, history, etc). I've watched her work with three Jack Russell pups from the same rescue litter, and am amazed at how responsive they all have become. She is truly dedicated to helping animals to live happy lives with their families, and it shows in how successfully she works with dogs.

HHP is a great service. I have a 4-month old boxer who was giving me problems: biting, jumping, housebreaking etc. (usual puppy stuff). Not only did she address what ever needs I had or special requests, she also offered tips on toys, collars, diet and medication/ vaccines. I bought the Living Social Deal hoping to get some tips. Note: puppy training involves training the OWNER and not only the dog. HHP won't magically transform your dog, HHP teaches you how to handle your pet, discourage bad behavior and guides YOU on training your dog. You have to be consistent and put in the effort. I got the deal for Christmas for two hours of private training...more than worth it. Anna gave me a tip if my dog ever swallowed something he wasn't supposed to, and sure enough within a week my puppy swallowed a whole beef hide bone. She answered my panicky text at night and probably saved me an expensive pet bill. She leaves detailed notes on training for future use. I highly recommend Happy Healthy Pup for training.
