In short, car got fixed but I probably overpaid for it.
Long version - My car suddenly wouldn’t start. A Pep Boys tow truck came to get it but was told their technician wouldn’t be in for a day or two to fix it, and that was fine. The issue is when I got the call about the quote.
I was told there were certain issues and it was going to be about $1380 including an oil change. I mentioned I didn’t want the oil change (since I prefer Take 5 Oil) so it’s $1200. I wasn’t happy with the quote but I needed my car so I paid it.
After I pick up my car and go to Take 5 for the oil change, they tell me I didn’t need one. Pep Boys was going to charge me for an oil change that I DIDNT NEED, so I can’t help but think I overpaid in general.

Took longer than it was supposed to due short staff and I cost me more rental money since the car spent 6 days in the shop instead of one or 2 as we discussed

Avoid this place. They tell you one thing on phone and when you arrive they tell you they cannot get you that tire but have others onsite they can sell you. Dishonest operation.

Went there to get tires and brakes at 12 noon. I didn't leave until almost 4 pm. It was a rental car from Hertz, so it took Hertz 45 mins to approve the work order. I sat here waiting for 2 and 1/2 hours just for a set of tires and brakes with no other cars being worked on. I am PISSED! I will NEVER come back here again. The technicians are extremely slow and nonchalant. They tried to blame their lomg wait on Hertz approval process, but I was told when Hertz approved the work to be done.
These people will take up half of your day for minor work. There is absolutely no reason why I should have been sitting there for over 2 hours for tires and brakes. I would definitely not recommend this place.

Scheduled an appointment. When I got there was told that they couldn’t do the appointment because someone called in sick but the lady in front of me was thanking him for letting her “sneak her car in” go somewhere else.

Made at appointment at 8am on Saturday because it was the earliest option for an alignment. Showed up on time and was told there was another car up on the lift that they were finishing up and then I was next in line. I decided to go walk to the Battery since it was close. Came back an hour later and they hadn't even started working on my vehicle. 4 HOURS later, they finally called me that it was done. I show up, I asked them if appointments mean anything and the guy said "no, not to our technicians". I go get in my car and notice that the interior roof of my car is covered in oil/dirt above the driver's seat. They couldn't get it off so now I have to find a way to clean it off myself. To top it all off, I left and my alignment is completely off and worse than it was before I took it there! Now I have to go back and probably wait 4 more hours and hope it is done properly this time. Don't go here if you don't have all day to wait for your vehicle that may not even be fixed when it's done.
Update: took my car back 2 days later and showed up right at 7am when they open. It is now 8:30am and they haven't even taken my car in. How is this location still open?!?

This Pep Boys helped me in my time of great need (and short attention span) recently, and I wanted to make sure any potential customers knew about it. The Pep Boys website said that the tires I was looking at *could* be ready by 4 P.M. that day, and given that I had needed tires for a while and had a trip the next day, this was the deciding factor in my purchase. I bought the tires and was happy to see my appointment was at 4 P.M. I arrived around 3:50 P.M., and I was somewhat surprised to learn that the 4 P.M. appointment I was there for was for that time ON JUNE 5TH. That was on me. In my excitement, I hadn't noticed that the scheduling calendar on the website had reverted to June 5th on its own after I chose that day (May 30th,) and I was fully prepared to accept the stupid prize my inattentive games had won me. Instead, the blonde haired gentleman decided to offer a reprieve in the form of an impromptu appointment. He personally drove to another location to source the tires I had ordered, and for all their help, I will be forever grateful. With all that being said, I would again like to stress that this was a pretty desperate situation for me and that it was indeed a great need. I don't want people to get the impression that this man is gonna do this every time for every customer, but I do want to make sure that folks considering doing business here know that this Pep Boys will take care of you.

Took my car in for an axle replacement and ended up needing brakes and tires so I spent over $2k for this. Picked it up the first time and the tech forgot to tighten a screw in the axle which I caught before leaving the parking lot (thank god). Two weeks later and my brakes sound like a school bus with how much they squeak. Brought it back and they said they couldn’t recreate it so they couldn’t do anything about it. I told them exactly what parts they needed to warranty and they were not listening. Now it’s passed the warranty and the squeaking happens every single day without fail along with harsh vibrations when I come to stops. They somehow couldn’t recreate this so they did nothing. I picked it up today and replicated all symptoms before even pulling all the way out of the parking spot they left my car in. Such a waste of my time and money. Have them fix one problem and leave with two more. Pep boys HQ, if you see this, make it right. I told your people everything they needed to know to make an informed decision and they failed miserably.

The technician forgot to reset the tire pressure measurement system. He took it for a test drive, but for some reason didn't notice all the idiot lights. I did, went for a drive for about an hour and they still didn't reset so I had to take it back. Took them about a minute to do what they should have done the first time.

If you want to wait hours for your oil change. I came yesterday with an appointment and he said will be 5 hours. So I made the first morning appointment for the next day and have been sitting almost 2 hours. I usually go through a drive through oil change but had to come here because of my car lease. Avoid unless you have lots of time to kill.

Highly recommend this location. I live in Covington and just so happened to start having car trouble and stopped at the first auto place that I saw. I walked in and was greeted by Trey. His warm welcome made me feel like I was at the right place. He told me some general information as why my car maybe acting up. It was a sigh of relief because it did not sound major. Another guy by the name of David came and salitified what Trey had told me. These gentlemen were amazing and I was able to fix my car because it was something really simple. There expertise is what took the worry away and made me have a better Mother’s Day. Thanks again gentlemen.

I was stuck on a 1100 mile trip with a broken belt. I called at 7 am. And Tyler fit me in. He called a Courier and had my tires delivered and installed within 2hrs. Best care I’ve had from a tire place in years.
