The Plaza Theatre is a historic Atlanta institution, beautifully preserved and offering a classic, intimate, and funky atmosphere. It is more than just a theater; it is a place where people who deeply love film gather to share that love. The programming plays to the whole tapestry of film, showcasing everything from high brow art house and indie films to older classics, low brow bloody horror, and popular new releases. This creates a unique, nerdcore vibe where every genre is celebrated and packed audiences can experience films in their highest form, whether discovering something new or revisiting a favorite. The venue is very clean and comfy, featuring a good snack bar and bar. The staff is consistently described as cool, fun, and exceptionally friendly, often engaging in conversations about movies. The theater hosts great special events, including holiday showings, the Silver Scream Spookshow, and the iconic Rocky Horror Picture Show with a shadow cast on Fridays. As a staple of the community, it is hands down a favorite place in Atlanta to support art, have fun, and truly experience the magic of cinema with friends.
Real cool, retro theater that plays some off beat flicks

Came here for an independent film screening. I love how cozy the theaters are and how quirky the design is. I wish they had more snack options but they're close to lots of restaurants so you can still grab food before or after a show.

The atmosphere in the theater is like it takes you back in time. I enjoy it every time I watch a movie there.
